In addition to my comments below, my father Captain Wood had the honour of being the pilot on board when Norway visited Southampton in 1996, he was on the bridge when she left the port. My father has recently retired but spoke of his watch and what a privilege it was to be on this ship.

Terrible shame, I believe there were moves afoot to try and save her, but by all accounts the owners just wanted shot of it in the wake of the deaths of the four workers in the boiler explosion. From what I have read, poor maintenance was to blame, and her equipment should've been replaced prior. Ships like these are things of beauty and should be preserved, it should have gone back to Le Havre or somewhere in France as a museum. Great loss.

The Queen Mary is Lucky because in her 31 years of service, she is only a hotel bought by Long Beach California because if the Queen Mary is Scrapped, we will not see the Queen

Un joli navire qui a était démantelé c'est dommage . On le voit à la fin du beau film le cerveau avec les sirènes en action ça me met les larmes c'est émouvant.il était beau ce paquebot.
