  • Ok so there is going to be a season 2 part 2 and hopefully, things improve with it. but the early episodes are a chill watch and if you a fan of the series I think you will still like it.
Tiger & Bunny (stylized as TIGER & BUNNY) is a 2011 Japanese anime television series produced by Sunrise under the direction of Keiichi Sato. The screenplay was written by Masafumi Nishida, with original character design by Masakazu Katsura. The series began its broadcast run in Japan on April 3, 2011, on Tokyo MX, followed by rebroadcasts on BS11 and MBS, and ended on September 17, 2011.[3] Viz Media simulcast the series on Hulu and Anime News Network.[4] It is set in a futuristic city where heroes fight crime whilst promoting real-life sponsors, focusing on two superheroes, the old-fashioned Kotetsu T. Kaburagi "Wild Tiger" and the rookie hero Barnaby Brooks Jr. "Bunny", as they are forced by their employers to work together.

While the animation was a bit lack luster at times (we can thank a different animation studio for that) I respectfully disagree with your assessment. T&B has always been masterful about planting small seeds to build tension and really set up conflict.
Fugan and Mugan are introduced in the first episode and serve as a ticking clock for what's to come. After credits clips, the experiments Bunny's friend is performing, news clips of heroes being picked off in different cities, the expansion of the world outside Stern Bild that shows how NEXT are treated which very much mirrors real world attitudes in more rural areas towards minorities (which NEXT very much are), it's all there building up to the climax of part 1. To me, part 1 was worth the wait and seemlessly continues after the events of The Rising (which is where Golden Ryan was originally introduced), gives me more stories about the heroes I love, gives me more bread crumbs about Ouroboros.. in short, it's not perfect, but I was on the edge of my seat with excitement and anticipation every episode. I am beyond excited for part 2.

I also love getting more of the characters I grew to love in season 1. But I do not believe that the overall story of season 2 (or at least season 2 part 1) is better than or as good as season 1. Everything about the NEXT representing minorities and how that affects villains like Fugan and Mugan is not an original idea. It's been done many many times and a lot better. The whole thing about "a fart in the wind" wasn't me saying the whole thing was bad (cause it wasn't) it was me saying it was forgettable. I'm just one guy, it's just my opinion. But what I want to know is do you think that season 2 is better than or is at the same level as season 1(or the first 13 episodes in season 1 if we're being fair)?
sidenote: I can't be the only one that found it hilarious that an old couple broke into someone's house, had the time and ingredients to make lasagna at Thomas's request, and feed it to him.

@@tyran9984 I think that part 1 of season 2 is almost comparable in terms of story and continuation and is just as good. And remember that part 1 of season one was the weaker arc and suffered from a lot of the same things (if you could call it suffering) that part 1 of season 2 does - setting up the world, introductions of characters (ie - who are they and why do we care), etc. Honestly I think season 2 was better at it because it threw in a lot of nuanced foreshadowing and gave the heroes more depth than just "insert power and personality quirk here."
I definitely think you're entitled to your opinion and me to mine, and I respect your opinion as the show did not leave as lasting an impact for you and left you feeling it was just meh. I personally really enjoyed it and have already watched it twice because of how much I love it.
