12:10 I see the rubber end cap fell off the rod on the chain splitter, I recommend to use gorilla tape for example to stop the rod from falling out. I had to do this on Lezyne Chain Drive

Y’all are gonna love that suntour xcr. I haven’t heard a single bad review on that fork except for the lockout i heard and its also upgradable to air. Planning to buy that soon so im definitely waiting for a review haha
I will attest to the fact that it is hard to find a decent rear wheel right now, unless you got a thru axle frame. Those wheels are everywhere but a QR with a sealed hub is impossible. I got a wheel with a strong rim but the hub isn't sealed. Stay tuned for that. Bummer about the mailtime file not saving, watch that battery!! 😎⚓👍

Keep checking Amazon for that budget cycling deal wheelset. I found the QR front and rear end of March in the warehouse deals. Said they were used but you could tell they were new. Paid pre-pandemic pricing.
That chain did look too long until you put it in 1st gear! I always cut my chains to your sizing method, works good everytime! I would love to get one of those steering caps!

Man I hope it turns it alright:) I went from sizing the chain and it almost laying on my chainstay to lengthening it and tightening up the B tensioner screw and it being too short.......I will have to spend some time on it:) Thanks Evan!
The top pulley on most derailleurs has SOME play to center on the cog ... It looks to me like the B tension screw needs to be loosened so the guide pulley is closer to the cassette in the lowest gear ... A bent derailleur hanger will make the low gears shift bad

Perfect timing as I need a budget group set right now on a graveyard frankenstein build based on an old Schwinn S40 DSX full suspension. Can that noisy jocky wheel be upgraded ? Oh yeah and it needs a stem cap!
sensah vs ltwoo on trails, does it perform well on trails or does it slap hard on trail? if you just didn't cut those chain, it wouldn't be a problem, your derailleur looks very extended and may result accidents, just take note when installing a new one drivetrain, don't cut it before installing the groupset, cut it after you see if it needs to be cut out......

@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS yep that's the way to do it just had to do some of thst myself yesterday. I've installed it and the shifting is improved. Rd sits further down and adjusting the b bolt out puts the rd forward. Much better shifting and I have 118 link chain now, so easier to buy those. Than 120 link chain. But I had to use a longer cable and wire.
8:36 I bought a similar extender, it's a Wolftooth Road Link, I will test it on Box One X-Wide as it's not really suitable for 11-50T as Box Claims and on some bikes it's not even feasible cus of the B bolt/screw and ge, position, I had it all the way in, but I managed to undo it by two full turns, not as smooth down shift in the repair stand, but under sag point it works, this improved the shifting performance on the smaller cogs, but still not optimal. the Box One X-wide is really more suitable for 11-46T. I will see if I can get the guide pulley closer to the smaller cogs, and in a good position for the 50T. if not I will try Shimano Deore or SLX 12 speed. I have Archer D1X Trail electronic shifting system, so I can swap cassettes and rear derailleurs, run what I want. any speed I want.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS that was a different type I have the road link you had the Goatlink. But quality product. I had both Goatlink 11, Goatlink 10 before, but I sold those. As I wore out the 10 speed slx and xtm8000 would eventually wear out so I sold it along with shifter.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS those slx ones I wore out few years ago were stock on the fuel ex. But now I am doing last testing on Box One setup, I managed to set it up and get it to work. It solved the problem. But then I smashed the rear derailleur so hard the hanger bent. I had to bail, I did not have it on video as camera was out of battery, but that would have made some good content. I ran og into a tree had to bail when climbing techy rock garden i ran off and hit a tree with my right arm. No injury or pain. So I will have to straighten it.
7:17 that's probably a travel spacer. probably you just pop it on or off the shaft. my BikeYoke Divine dropper post has this feature. but I don't need it.
That top jockey wheel is definitely missing a m Bushing of some sort, packing it full of grease could help to reduce some of the noise but I'd go to the hardware store and try to find a part that fits
I think it may be a needed one yes, especially if you are riding on light trails. But a big thing you have to remember is the Malus has a freewheel and you would have to get a new back wheel just to be able to fit the cassette.
Are you getting some resistance in 1st gear right now? Ii don't you need that derailleur hanger extension. Take it off and resize the chain again, bet it will run smoother.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS i think it should. I mounted a 9speed sunrace w/50t cassette on a carbon x 29, running on sunrace m9 derailleur. I added the extension link and it shift weird. Took it off, remount, adjusted b screw, no issues, every gear shift like butter...good luck!
Question. You went real short on chain. Did that work good. I did a 1x11 on my gt richochet and I am about 4:30 on biggest ring. You are like 3:30. I am always worried I am gonna tear it off(again)

@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS i can’t remember how many links i removed from the chain on my install. i purchased a kmc 10 speed chain separately and mine didn’t come with the road link like yours did. you probably know all of this already but that chain is too short for sure and it looked like you needed some b screw adjustment also. all of that being said it still makes a lot of noise in the biggest cog on my daughters bike. i think that is a chain line issue though.

how does that compare to a shimano deore 10 speed (5100 i believe) price wise ? also could you tighten that jockey wheel ? if not i'd try to open it and add a dab of grease in there to reduce the play.

@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS why would it? Have a battery bank connected to it attached to the stand so you can move it all over the place no extention cable needed. I have a battery bank in my backpack and even charge my camera while riding sometimes. I can fully charge my phone and gopro. And still have left over power. So make sure you get a powerbank that is portable, robust, water proof, and you got your self a reliable battery bank you can take anywhere. Mine even has a flashlight built in. Two USB ports.

Are you seriously comparing those cheap Chinese lutu forks to a solid and reliable branded suntour fork . The lutu fork those guys had is broken after only 3 or 4 months use doesn't matter what they done with it . It only survived 3 or 4 months. Have you done any research on those lutu forks at all . Have a look at some of the horror stories on RUclips about cheap Chinese forks .

So let me ask you this, if you have a truck rated to tow 5000lbs and you decide to see how long you can tow 12000lbs with that truck would you then be upset if after 5 months the truck started to breakdown? The fork has stickers on it warning people to not use them for freeride, jumping, downhill, or enduro. It is just not logical to be upset if it fails when abused past it's limits. We have no problem with you expressing your hate for the Lutu's or for us rating them, but please man we're asking you to not be aggressive with other commentators about it. We value you as part of the #wolfticknation but we don't believe in bike or bike parts shaming.

The upper jockey wheel should not only spin freely but should have play on the z-axis so that it can adjust during the shift range. The lower wheel can have almost no play.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Awesome! The upper wheel should also be lubed properly and then spin freely and have side to side play, or else it wont stay in the gear you shift into.
On the biggest cog, the system is stretched out. Please add 1 or 2 more link to the chain. Then with the longer chain, the chain itself will be tensioning the guide pulley and maybe decrease the noise. Also great videos. Enjoying a lot.

Damn, you guys were so sad about the mailtime, this drivetrain seems comparable to advent x, personally I would spend the extra 100 on advent x because that pulleye would drive me crazy and the deraihlor having no clutch but maybe for a super budget bike this would be good, and I was wondering what you thought of the x6 crankset, from the same people who make ixf, but I think it wold look better on my bike
Lol my lt woo a7 group set came with the ssme chainring and chain. Sadly i still dont have a wheel for it so im stuck climbing big hills with a 28t on a 33 pound bike 😂

That groupset is about 5 years old, and you can buy a 1x12 ENTIRE GROUPSET including a 1 by crank with hub for 135 bucks in 2021, and thats not even the sale price. At 73 bucks without the lightweight cassette its not really that good of a deal. If they gave you the crank, it would be okay.

Definitely tight, a lot, the lower part of the chain should be very close to the rd in the smallest cog.

I will attest to the fact that it is hard to find a decent rear wheel right now, unless you got a thru axle frame. Those wheels are everywhere but a QR with a sealed hub is impossible. I got a wheel with a strong rim but the hub isn't sealed. Stay tuned for that. Bummer about the mailtime file not saving, watch that battery!!

Keep checking Amazon for that budget cycling deal wheelset. I found the QR front and rear end of March in the warehouse deals. Said they were used but you could tell they were new. Paid pre-pandemic pricing.

That chain did look too long until you put it in 1st gear! I always cut my chains to your sizing method, works good everytime! I would love to get one of those steering caps!
Thanks man, I gotta check into it a little bit more. It seems the chain is a little too taught when extended in 1st but.....1 more link and its too much even after tightening the B tensioner:) As for the caps.....we will have to see:) Thanks Chris H?????

The top pulley on most derailleurs has SOME play to center on the cog ... It looks to me like the B tension screw needs to be loosened so the guide pulley is closer to the cassette in the lowest gear ... A bent derailleur hanger will make the low gears shift bad

if you just didn't cut those chain, it wouldn't be a problem, your derailleur looks very extended and may result accidents, just take note when installing a new one drivetrain, don't cut it before installing the groupset, cut it after you see if it needs to be cut out......
Well I got more than enough master links as a just incase but I do appreciate the input. The chain is way long in 10th gear? I tightened the B screw and everything, got any ideas?
No worries! Sh!t happens! I'm sure it was an epic mailtime! I'll second what someone else said, the chain looks too short in the biggest cog. Looking forward to a real time review on it to see how it holds up.

15:11 the B screw has to bee turned out a lot. the chain is way too far away. so it needs adjustment. but the guide pulley is close enough to the smaller cogs. but you need to adjust it for sure.
It def does....I sized it then it pretty much layed across the chainstay. I then tightened the B tensioner screw and it ate up some slack, but still not enough. Then went link by link by master link till it was a happy medium? It seems as if there is 1 link to short or 1 link to long, I figured I would be doing less climbing so I went less chain. But we will see or I can play with it more...Thanks
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS yep that's the way to do it just had to do some of thst myself yesterday. I've installed it and the shifting is improved. Rd sits further down and adjusting the b bolt out puts the rd forward. Much better shifting and I have 118 link chain now, so easier to buy those. Than 120 link chain. But I had to use a longer cable and wire.

8:36 I bought a similar extender, it's a Wolftooth Road Link, I will test it on Box One X-Wide as it's not really suitable for 11-50T as Box Claims and on some bikes it's not even feasible cus of the B bolt/screw and ge, position, I had it all the way in, but I managed to undo it by two full turns, not as smooth down shift in the repair stand, but under sag point it works, this improved the shifting performance on the smaller cogs, but still not optimal. the Box One X-wide is really more suitable for 11-46T.
I will see if I can get the guide pulley closer to the smaller cogs, and in a good position for the 50T.
if not I will try Shimano Deore or SLX 12 speed.
I have Archer D1X Trail electronic shifting system, so I can swap cassettes and rear derailleurs, run what I want. any speed I want.

@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS that was a different type I have the road link you had the Goatlink. But quality product. I had both Goatlink 11, Goatlink 10 before, but I sold those. As I wore out the 10 speed slx and xtm8000 would eventually wear out so I sold it along with shifter.

@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS those slx ones I wore out few years ago were stock on the fuel ex. But now I am doing last testing on Box One setup, I managed to set it up and get it to work. It solved the problem. But then I smashed the rear derailleur so hard the hanger bent. I had to bail, I did not have it on video as camera was out of battery, but that would have made some good content. I ran og into a tree had to bail when climbing techy rock garden i ran off and hit a tree with my right arm. No injury or pain. So I will have to straighten it.

7:17 that's probably a travel spacer. probably you just pop it on or off the shaft. my BikeYoke Divine dropper post has this feature. but I don't need it.

Bushing of some sort, packing it full of grease could help to reduce some of the noise but I'd go to the hardware store and try to find a part that fits

I think it may be a needed one yes, especially if you are riding on light trails. But a big thing you have to remember is the Malus has a freewheel and you would have to get a new back wheel just to be able to fit the cassette.
Are you getting some resistance in 1st gear right now? Ii don't you need that derailleur hanger extension. Take it off and resize the chain again, bet it will run smoother.

@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS i think it should. I mounted a 9speed sunrace w/50t cassette on a carbon x 29, running on sunrace m9 derailleur. I added the extension link and it shift weird. Took it off, remount, adjusted b screw, no issues, every gear shift like butter...good luck!

I put the RX10 on my daughters flat bar gravel bike with a road link. Very nice in that application. Not as challenging as a mtb application though.

@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS i can’t remember how many links i removed from the chain on my install. i purchased a kmc 10 speed chain separately and mine didn’t come with the road link like yours did. you probably know all of this already but that chain is too short for sure and it looked like you needed some b screw adjustment also. all of that being said it still makes a lot of noise in the biggest cog on my daughters bike. i think that is a chain line issue though.

That would work, but we run s much lighting it would be a mess even more so in our small shop
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS why would it? Have a battery bank connected to it attached to the stand so you can move it all over the place no extention cable needed. I have a battery bank in my backpack and even charge my camera while riding sometimes. I can fully charge my phone and gopro. And still have left over power. So make sure you get a powerbank that is portable, robust, water proof, and you got your self a reliable battery bank you can take anywhere. Mine even has a flashlight built in. Two USB ports.

Are you seriously comparing those cheap Chinese lutu forks to a solid and reliable branded suntour fork . The lutu fork those guys had is broken after only 3 or 4 months use doesn't matter what they done with it . It only survived 3 or 4 months. Have you done any research on those lutu forks at all . Have a look at some of the horror stories on RUclips about cheap Chinese forks .

So let me ask you this, if you have a truck rated to tow 5000lbs and you decide to see how long you can tow 12000lbs with that truck would you then be upset if after 5 months the truck started to breakdown? The fork has stickers on it warning people to not use them for freeride, jumping, downhill, or enduro. It is just not logical to be upset if it fails when abused past it's limits. We have no problem with you expressing your hate for the Lutu's or for us rating them, but please man we're asking you to not be aggressive with other commentators about it. We value you as part of the #wolfticknation but we don't believe in bike or bike parts shaming.

The upper jockey wheel should not only spin freely but should have play on the z-axis so that it can adjust during the shift range. The lower wheel can have almost no play.

On the biggest cog, the system is stretched out. Please add 1 or 2 more link to the chain. Then with the longer chain, the chain itself will be tensioning the guide pulley and maybe decrease the noise.

That groupset is about 5 years old, and you can buy a 1x12 ENTIRE GROUPSET including a 1 by crank with hub for 135 bucks in 2021, and thats not even the sale price. At 73 bucks without the lightweight cassette its not really that good of a deal. If they gave you the crank, it would be okay.

This groupset includes the cassette. I'd imagine it's not a "lightweight" one but it's there.. and it is "budget" to be sure!

You are right man, its just 1 link it is too loose and 1 less is what you see. Even after tightening up the B tensioner it is weird???? I dont know :) but we will see how it does! Thanks Mike
