    Thanks for the tips.
I used one camera body attached to a 500mm f/4 prime lens which is attached to a ball head mounted on a monopod. I use an 80-200mm f/2.8 zoom on a second body, and a wide-angle prime or zoom lens on a third body hung around my neck.

Congratulations to Mrs Sambles and yourself on the new arrival.
I do the same with my 300mm but if I get the chance to use a 400mm I turn it 180 degrees so it’s pointing over my shoulder I just find it easier for that lens.

I actually used to do the same but I found it took me too long to get back and forth between them

That's really helpful... it's something I have been really struggling with. Do you cover seating position vs monopod position in one of your videos? I really struggle as I find myself having to shift the monopod, rather than just rotating it, and a lot of the time the monopod wants to stay put; this makes me think I should perhaps be moving myself more. I'd welcome your thoughts.

Daft question alert Rob! After not insignificant outlay on 1DX Mkiii and lenses getting a second camera challenge atm. I do however have a Nikon D90 and some reasonable lenses. Would you think that would work in a two camera set up in the short term pls? Eventually I will get hold of a Canon second camera but would appreciate your thoughts please?

When I need to switch to my 70-200 I spin the long lens on the mono pod so that the long lens is now facing back over my shoulder and the camera body is now at the front. This enables me to have full range of motion with my 70-200.

Hi. How do you decide which body to use with lens? Thanks.

Congratulations again Rob a little Sambles just in time for Christmas.... great news. I use two Nikon D500s one with 70-200 f2.8 freehand and the other is 200-400 F4 on a monopod. I do have a third body a D7200 with a 24-70 or a sigma 10-20 lens fixed on a platypod support plate for my behind the goal cam.

Hello Rob and congrats on the baby. :)
Great video as usual. One thought. How often do you shoot the body with the 70-200 during games? When I use this setup I rearly find need to use it. Do you use it every time if there is action in the box?

Interesting vid Rob and congrats to Mrs Sambles and yourself!
I'm swapping between a 300mm f/2.8 and 500mm f/4 quite a bit and found that adding a lever style QR plate to the monopod a gamechanger. Obviously not an issue if you're working with just the 1 x long lens.

Yeah if you've got 2 then I imagine that would be really helpful

Awesome video. I hope to have 2 bodies by football season next year so the tips you provided will come in handy.

What I tend to do with my sigma and pod is have the lens over my shoulder facing behind me. Saves having to duck and weave.
    Congrats on the baby btw.

Thanks for another fab video Rob (and congrats to you & Mrs S on Jake's arrival). Are you using your 7Dii with the 300, and then 70-200 on the 1DX? If so, given the effective focal length of 480mm on the 7Dii, where do you like to position yourself when shooting football?

Thanks Nick. Yeah that's my usual setup. My favourite spot is somewhere near the corner flag on the endline.

That’s nothing! Just wait until you have the baby in one hand, groceries in another, and the diaper bag over your shoulder. Also, if you can install a car seat without dislocating your shoulder, you should do a video on that. (BTW, thanks for another helpful video)
