Father Eric Salobir is a Roman Catholic priest and General Promoter of Communications to the Order of Preachers. As a consultor for the Pontifical Council, a member of the delegation of the Holy See at UNESCO, and president of the global OPTIC Research Network, Fr. Salobir operates at the forefront of values-driven research by facilitating dialogues between scientific and religious communities.
The Venerable Tenzin Priyadarshi is a Buddhist monk and the director of the Ethics initiative at the MIT Media Lab. As the president and CEO of the MIT Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values, and the founding president of the worldwide humanitarian ‘Prajnopaya’ Foundation, he promotes research and program design to facilitate broader and deeper understanding of ethics and empathy adherence.
Sputniko! is a multi-media artist and filmmaker creating works on the themes of technology, gender and feminism. Her work has been exhibited at the MoMA, Centre-Pompidou Metz, V&A, the Cooper Hewitt, Mori Art Museum, and she was awarded Vogue Japan Woman of the Year in 2013. Sputniko taught at the MIT Media Lab as an Assistant Professor and was the director of the Design Fiction Group from 2013 to 2017. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Tokyo University of Arts.
Joi Ito is the director of the Center for Radical Transformation at the Chiba Institute of Technology, where he has served as a trustee since January 2022. He is the co-founder, board member and chief architect of Digital Garage. Ito is also a co-founder of and a board member of the non-profit, Safecast, a primarily volunteer-run platform that publishes and advocates for open environmental data.

The Center for Radical Transformation (CRT)’s Speaker Series regularly presents exciting antidisciplinary work by and discussions with researchers from the Center and beyond. Presenters will typically have made significant contributions and continue to actively shape international research agendas. These presentations are intended to spark research and curricular development in areas that do not fit within departmental structures, help develop new paradigms for conducting innovative research, and ask new questions within existing paradigms.
