nah the tutorial spans for 3 arcs, 3rd arc is when they truly finish the real hunter exam then 4th arc is when sht is abt to go down because of the characters featured and what they can do
@@drei1194 tutorial is the third arc. The first and second, is all character creation. Learning names, and backstories of key characters. 3rd arc, is where it all begins.
Leorio's goal isn't to be a fighter though. It's to become a doctor. But he needs the money that having a hunters license would bring him to accomplish that. I think its totally fine for him to be carried since he was lucky enough to find a team that valued him and his dream.
He was carried the hardest by the writer. Killua killing his opponent before their mach was the less convoluted version of "pulling a solution out of his arse" way for Leo to pass, than trying to come up with a way for him to win a fight against any other character, since he never showed any skill in fighting. That kill was so clearly written in just so he could pass.
I haven't finished this episode, but they mentioned this maybe 2-4 episodes ago, near the end of phase four-- Parker actually started it off, first mentioning that maybe he's too hard on Leo given his goal
@@raifthemadthat’s just false, Netero himself claims it was a relatively even fight, with Leorio having more strength and speed and such. And if you’re talking characters in general he’d beat Pokkle too. SPOILERS: also at least in the manga he’s stronger physically than both Gon and Kurapika at this point
27:25 lmao so true. Hisoka seems like the kind of guy to kill all his friends for funsies then genuinely wonder where everybody went. Loved the reaction. You have a great group dynamic💙
Nah, killua is smart. The thing is, illumi "thing" is drilled into killuas head. Making him think that he has the control. But the way he was raised, was to obey all the rules that illumi and his dad taught him.
Yeah the anime kinda does Leorio dirty a little bit; Netero says himself that he matched him and Bodoro together because they were evenly matched, with Leorio being physically stronger. Dude is strong for a human, but the anime kinda cuts out a lot of the scenes where he gets to show his Hunter's mettle.
Skill beats strength when both parties are reasonably strong, and we’ve been told Bodoro is skilled martial artist whereas Leorio appears to have no fighting skills at all.
@@dajtoad1 yes but the point is they cut out the part about him where it shows he's physically superior. The manga mentioned it to point that out. In this anime adaptation he just looks like a scrub.
@@happilyevernever4289 In the anime, Leorio is strong but, to our knowledge, has zero fighting skills. He’s certainly never demonstrated any beyond waving around his little knife. A strong man vs a martial artist is a one way ticket to defeat. Leorio is most suited for his chosen profession, which is just as well, really.
Illumi was disguising himself from Killua so as to keep an eye on him while still taking the exam without interference. Hisoka and Illumi seem like natural friends (or something close to that) to me. Both charismatic, skilled killers. But I have no idea when they met, except that it seems to have been some time before the exam. By the ease with which he mentally screwed him over here, you get the impression he’s been mentally f**ing with Killua for years. Considering Illumi has had exactly the same training as Killua and is several years older and bigger, Killua can have had zero chance of winning and Illumi could have done a whole lot of damage to Killua without killing him. And they both knew it. I think Killua killed Bodoro to fail the exam and get it finished without wasting any more time, but his thought process might not have been as coherent as that. Illumi took away the hopes he had been beginning to develop about leading a different life. If you think about it, Killua never spent any time on his own with Kurapika or Leorio. Only with Gon.
Loved that episode and your reaction! Also, Parker did those push ups without even trying, that was too easy for him, next time he has to do something more difficult!
why illumi sleep in hole is because he and his family is family who lives and work underground (not literally), I believe the weird scene is just a chance for wordplaying to make it literally
Leorio is a strong guy, but his goal wasn't to be a fighter but to be a doctor. In the manga, he opened two gates in killua’s house, alone. But they didn't showed it in the anime which is disappointing. His goal is to be a doctor, but they should've at least show how strong enough he is. Many characters in the show can see his great potential.
Every one of the reactors to the Hunter x Hunter 2011 version I've seen did not get why Killua killed Bodoro, I don't blame them. It seems that the hunter x hunter 1999 version (that I grew up watching) did a better job than the 2011 one. Illumi told Killua while approaching him that if Killua made a single move, that would declare the start of the fight, plus if their skins do make contact as well. That's why Killua admitted defeat before the skin contact is made. And because Killua can't beat his big brother because he's not powerful enough and he'd known that Leorio couldn't win against Bodoro, he killed the latter and was later been disqualified. I love the 1999 version of the Hunter Exam part it was more elaborated, especially that version of Killua vs Illumi's fight, and the one between Hisoka and Kurapika was a great fight extending on an entire episode while in this version they only mentioned it as if it was worthless. It frustrating to me. :( Also the soundtracks and the music used throughout the 1999 version are much cooler, sadder and more exciting than the 2011 ones.
18:48 ... what? If he can't beat his brother, and he's sweating and shaking super hard, why think he can just kill him Parker said Bodoro as soon as he saw it (though Morgan then said Hanzo?) 25:40 man I just came from the 1999 BRUH Creepy turn around when he says Kil will have to fight him to save Gon AND WHEN ILL SAYS HE WAS JOKING (IN THE MIDDLE OF IT) HE GLANCES AT HISOKA AND THERE'S THIS FLASH CLOSE UP OF HISOKA'S EYES MENACING AS HELL Park, they explained it a fair amount Esp in 1x1 and 1x3
@@Soriddo_Suneku To be fair, I think Illumi is more intesting and intriguing than Hisoka to me, especially after the last arc of the anime. But I also think Hisoka's character is good and one of my fav.
I actually genuinely wonder how will they be able to remember or understand anything in the yorkshin city arc or the chimera like the amount of complexity in these 2 arcs are gonna be too much for them from what I've seen so far on their analyzing skills & memory.
Fun fact: According to the 10 Commandments of Hunters (which, albeit, was established LONG after this episode), it WOULD have been illegal for Illumi to kill Gon, as hunters aren't allowed to target other hunters without reasonable cause, i.e. heinous crimes committed. But I assume this is due to the lack of pre-planning on the writer's part, a plothole that couldn't be avoided.
I thought of the Hunter assosiation to be simlar to Mensa but instead of just inteligence its being physically gifted too. That and that the Devil could become a hunter if he passed the exam.
Not getting a single match-up right is kind of a feat! (though I guess Morgan had Killua/Pokkle) edit: nevermind, 2 rights, even if neither fight really took place
I just realised that while Killua killing Bodoro made everyone else pass (and that may be the reason why he did it but I have my doubts), would him interfering with the fight not also disqualify Leorio at the same time?
3 members of his own family outclass him. Include both Neteros and that's already 5 characters stronger than him. This is not including the Zodiacs or Hisoka or Chrollo or f*cking Meruem.
Killua intentionally killed bodoro so that leorio can pass. He didnt care if he became a hunter or not in this years exam. He did it to help leorio since leorio is obviously the weakest and couldn’t afford to try again next year
Ya... in a fight, Killua has _zero_ chances against his older brother 💀

"It's free real estate"
Kurapika couldn't believe it
