    Looking up a talking rice cooker after watching some good Korean shows on Netflix. (Steamer). Loved my Instant Pot until it stopped working in middle of cooking roast and I o lay had used the pot once a month for a year.

    Yep, it says pekmi in that 'glutenous rice' bit, which means white rice. 현미 is brown rice.
    Anyways, cuckoo makes great rice cookers - though I wouldn't want to pay that extra money for the speech function. Their non-speech rice pressure cookers are great - as good as cuchen, and not too expensive either.

    A English manual for this model hasnt been produced, What you could do however is to match the closest model which is CRP-HY to your BHB067FS. Most of the key functions remain the same.
    You can download CRP-HY's English manual here at:
    www.cuckooworld.com/usa/product/Product_detail.aspx?Key=116#taget

    OMG! That was complicated, the voice function was funny at the beginning but I can see myself driving crazy after a little while of use. I'm thinking about buying one of these or a Zojirushi, not sure which would be better for me

      @TheHDChannelx  9 лет назад +1

      +Alan Chau A Zojirushi was also on my list, a choose the Cuckoo because i personally think they look more modern and the voice guide and lights tipped me towards it. Great rice cooker.

      I think all Cuckoo rice cookers have the option to disable the voice commands entirely as well - making them as quite as Zojirushi if you wish to. It's in the same menu where you change the language. That's quite a nice feature to have, if you're cooking rice past midnight and don't want to wake up people.

    Do you know what the difference is in the results between glutinous rice and mixed rice?

    • @TheHDChannelx
      @TheHDChannelx  6 лет назад +1

      Glutinous rice is sticky rice. On this cooker it says glutinous rice, but on the screen in Korean it says white rice. But the same option can be used on either rice. Mixed rice is option for mixed grains rice. You can buy or mix different types of rice, that option is for that. Hope this helps 👍

    • @caparn100
      @caparn100 6 лет назад +1

      Thanks, that's helpful. When I cook Jasmine rice in my Cuckoo rice cooker it ends up really glutinous. I'd prefer it less moist. Do you know which program would produce the rice more as I like it?

    • @TheHDChannelx
      @TheHDChannelx  6 лет назад

      I usually use Long grain jasmine fragrant rice, on the glutinous rice option (But on the LCD screen, it actually says "White Rice"), some cookers have both a White option & glutinous rice. I would suggest use less water, as the measurements in the cookers are generally just a guide. Sometimes you do need to adjust the water level depending on the crop of rice.

    How's it holding up? I'd like to by a 10 cup version. We use our rice cooker everyday. and u think it's time to one of these bad boys instead of a 30$ rice cooker.

    • @ConceptVBS
      @ConceptVBS 9 лет назад +2

      +Jonny I've bought a generic electric rice cooker for $30 thinking it will be enough. NEVER AGAIN.
      I highly recommend you get the Cuckoo PRESSURE rice cooker (any model will do) . The rice that comes out are genuinely night and day difference from my old electric cooker. Its MUCH moist, and it stays that way for weeks at a time. My electric cooker would dry up (even inside the container) after only a week. I love the fact that I can cook rice in as little as 15 minutes with the Turbo cook feature. Before I had to soak the rice in the water for an hour, then wait another hour for it to completely cook. That is 2 hours for cooking rice when I'm hungry as heck. With the Cuckoo, I only had to wash the rice (not even soak it in), put in in the container and wait around 20 minutes for everything to come out nice. I'm really happy with my purchase. Yes, it costs a lot but the benefit of having perfectly cooked come out everytime (not to mention the amount of time it saved me) it well worth the investment.

      +ConceptVBS I bought the 10 cup version on the one you have and I agree. as someone who eats and almost cost rice daily this was totally worth it.

      Once you try rice from a "Proper" rice cooker, you can tell if the rice been cooker with a good rice cooker or not.

    The screen should be in English as well as the voice, but this is probably a direct import product from Korea.
    You must be uncomfortable.
    It's a translator, so I don't know if it's going to make sense.

    • @TheHDChannelx
      @TheHDChannelx  9 лет назад +2

      Yeah the brand is Cuckoo, they are the biggest selling rice cooker brand in South Korea and I can easily say this rice cooker will easily beat any western branded rice cooker you can pick up at a retail store.
