This is the first few minutes of the trip, with a special guest appearance from Sean Derek, an Emmy Award winning screenwriter. She really honored me by coming to hang out during Day 1 of the trip.
This episode is the first of many episodes to come from my week long trip to Tortoiseland.

OMG, I love turtles and tortoises!
Cool!
Yes. YES! This episode was insane. The first moments I met with Kevin Proulx, The Tortoise Guy. I flew to Los Angeles and met with Kevin for two reasons. I wanted to meet the tortoises since I've never seen one in real life. And I wanted to learn what I could of his film and editing techniques, since he's a TV show editor by trade, I was absolutely blown away at the quality of his videos.
I think I nailed both, so stay tuned. These episodes are going to show a point of view similar to this episode, where I am filming Kevin while he films himself. Behind the scenes yo! A LOT of episodes from my trip to LA are coming up soon :)
Awesome guys!!
Dude!!! just watched this video!! how fun and cool!!! LOL!!! miss you dude!
Miss you too! I'm hyped to make episode 2 :)
I just shared this video on my personal and The Tortoise Guy FaceBook pages and on Twitter. Sorry it's taken me soooooo long to get to our videos Taylor. --kevin

Thank you Kat :) It is such a lovely place, and they put some serious effort into conservation for these tortoise species. It was really something incredible to see in person
I love birds, I have a Maxi Pionus male Dobby. I have had 4 Maxis now and I lost Lurch 5 years ago when he snuck out the door so I tracked him in a tree for 3 days and he flew away. I was given Dobby shortly after and I keep his lost ad up in case someone has him. I was recently given a Green Cheek Conure that the man thought was Lurch. I took her in because he couldn't safely keep her with two cats and a large dog.
People know I have birds so they will try to give me birds but I try to keep to Dobby but I won't turn down one that needs help so I have the Conure now we named Pippen. The turtle guy takes in tortoises and turtles and I bet you would take in any Chameleons and related critters if they truly need your help too.
Keep doing what you do and have fun getting out there to meet your heroes and make new friends and help each other 👍
Teemo, my red chameleon from years ago was actually an animal I took in as a rescue kind of thing. He was my first chameleon, and I only had a 2 day notice so his enclosure was a bit lame at first. I learned a lot from him though and now Chroma lives like a king lol. The Tortoise Guy is on a level of rescue I'll never be able to do. He blows my mind how much time he puts into those Tortoises
