    I'm so glad i found this video, i've been struggling even with the simplest grammar! This video really cut every point into small pieces, and i was finally able to understand it 🤦. Thank you !

      JoachimderZweite Thanks! Yeah, one of the big complaints for the first series of videos I did was my American accented Japanese :). I'll be releasing these in a regular basis. The は particle video is coming soon. It came out pretty well I think. Stay tuned.

    Hi Clayton! I was wondering, is there any way you'd be able to put on proper subtitles for the video instead of the auto generated ones? Your Memrise course is incredibly resourceful and I wanted to share it with a friend of mine who is hard of hearing. Unfortunately RUclips's auto generated subtitles are not very helpful for everyone.

      I've been thinking about trying to do this for awhile. I definitely have the scripts, so just need to time it up. Unfortunately, I'm really busy these days. I'll try to get to it though!

  • @icardi9goat

    Hello :) I only have a 0.5mm Fineliner, which makes writing Kanji (as example kirei 綺麗) a living hell for my nerves and patience. Is it important to write kanji in Japanese? Or can I use hiragana in the beginning? Thanks for the Video and your hard work to help us little Foreigners :)

    • @jlptbootcamp
      @jlptbootcamp  3 года назад +2

      There are two ways to go about studying kanji. One way is to just simply let the computers do all the work and never really learn to write kanji. Or write kanji as much as you can until it becomes automatic. To be honest, you can survive without ever learning to write kanji, and so it might not be the most efficient use of your time to do so. However, for some it can be a good way to practice and learn the different strokes. For others it can be down right meditative to drill kanji. It just really depends on how you learn and if you enjoy it. The most important part of studying a language is what motivates you because that will keep you going.

    • @icardi9goat
      @icardi9goat 3 года назад

      @@jlptbootcamp thank you so much. I will continue to learn kanji harder now, I will hopefully get a thinner Pen so I can get those nice thin strokes! All the best to you and stay healthy :D

    • @jlptbootcamp
      @jlptbootcamp  3 года назад +2

      @@icardi9goat you too! Personally, I don't practice writing kanji too much, but I wish I had more time to. The app "kanji study" is also good for practicing writing on your phone by touch.

    There seems to be an issue with your videos. After the intro, I'm getting a green screen basically and then later a grey screen. Is this intentional?

    • @jlptbootcamp
      @jlptbootcamp  5 лет назад +1

      Nope, That seems like an issue with how you are viewing it. Maybe you need more bandwidth? Or you might want to try changing the quality to 30fps.

    I'm a bit confused because I thought that the subject was always first in japanese. For example for not delicious food I said たべものおいしくない Why is that wrong? Sorry, I am new 😶

    • @jlptbootcamp
      @jlptbootcamp  3 года назад

      Adjectives go before nouns in Japanese just like English -> おいしくない たべもの (not delicious food).
      If you want to make a sentence like "This food is not delicious.", you need more parts:
      このたべものは おいしくないです。In this sentence the subject is first.

    I've heard "chiisana koi", chiisai is an adjective but why add "na" in that sentence? I appreciate if you explain it. thank you

    • @jlptbootcamp
      @jlptbootcamp  5 лет назад +4

      chiisana is a nominalized adjective. In other words, you can make an adjective into a noun by cutting off the i and adding sa. Then, to use it to modify / describe a noun you use the na particle.
