I'll always consider Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer as the greatest stop motion film ever. You can really tell Tim Burton, Wallace and Gromit, and James and the Giant Peach took the genre to a whole other level. I really wish it was a more popularized genre, but I'm sure its extremely difficult and possibly the most difficult kind of film to make.

Is there a reason why there are, on average more stopmotion films being made in Europe than in the Americas? In addition to that, the European ones tend to be in much better quality. More funding on such arts? More lax policies on such films?
    I'm actually curious.

I’ve always been a huge fan of stop-motion animation! When I was a kid in the ‘60s and ‘70s, I thought that was simply the way that monsters move! O’Brien, Harryhausen, Danforth, Peterson, Allen, Tippett, Chang and a host of others were (and still are) some of my most cherished inspirations. Too bad that Universal Studios weren’t able to make their 1976 KING KONG with Jim Danforth at the helm! One of my favourite stop-motion films remains obscure to this day: EQUINOX.

3:54 I'm hoping to get *Three Fantastic Journeys by Karel Zeman,* which includes this film. But it's kinda costly to get that set. I'll be patient to wait for a good deal on it. Meanwhile, there are many other sci-fi / fantasy / animated films I wanna see.
5:28 There's no title for this one. But I know that it's "Closed Mondays." Done by Will Vinton in 1974.
Trivia about the short: This short was included in the theatrical release of the compilation feature "Fantastic Animation Festival" (1977).
