Freaking LOVE this album!! Thanks to you and the review crew for mentioning it. So much fun and total ripping guitars 🔥
Hey Pete. I first learned about this album from Jamie on The Review Crew. I really dig it. It's one of those records that as soon as it ends, I have to cue it up again. Great album. Definitely will be on my list at the end of the year.
Hey Chris I remember Jamie reviewing this one but I never got around to listening to it. Will have to check it out
@@logancollins7097 I like the fact that Jamie will go outside the box with some of the albums that he reviews. He gave Willie Nelson's The Border a great review. I thought it was cool that he went outside the genres usually discussed on SoT and gave some attention to what is an excellent album by an artist who is genuinely a living legend and a national treasure.
@@christophercoles4401 Yes I love Jamie's branching out into different genres all the time!
It hasn't been quite the instant love that the first album was (that was such a blast when it came out) but it's getting there. I would really like to see them live again with the new songs - yeah, if they play somewhere close, I will!
Great review! Glad you like the album, Pete. I have both this and the previous one and have really enjoyed both of them.
I'm glad you gave this Nestor album a chance and it will definitely be one of my favorites of the year. As you say, it is an album that goes directly to that AOR/Melodic Rock style, and very well executed. It's a relatively short album and every time it ends, I play it again, because it leaves you wanting more!
Like their first album and looking forward to hearing this one.
Their first album is amazing, super catchy I havent listen to this one yet but they are great
Looking forward to hearing your review of this album. Picked this one to play a few excerpts before heading out for the day. Maybe it's my ears, but I heard the band Survivor in that track. And thanks to you, Pete, Survivor is now in the personal library and greatly enjoyed. So this appears to be 80s stadium/AOR rock and, right or wrong, love it so far. Going to be playing this in the car soon. Thanks, Pete, for including this one in the new product reviews, Pete. Proving yet again that the weekly new product episodes have something for everyone. For those who do watch, pass the word along to your friends and comrades who love music. These episodes deserve greater views.
Heard about these guys from the KissFaq podcast of all things. Great album.👍
I've been listening to Teenage Rebel for a few days now, like what I'm hearing so I shall definitely be buying a copy. This album also seems to be very popular with other members of a Melodic Rock group I belong to, with some declaring it to be one of their favourite releases so far this year. What is also getting lots of mentions though is the second album from Swedish rockers Remedy - Pleasure Beats the Pain which was released on 24 May 2024. For my money, Remedy are far more interesting and their music is totally addictive!
Also got that new Remedy album not long ago - sounds more AOR to me than Nestor. Not bad. Plenty of melodic hooks for sure & enough of an edge to keep things moving. Reminds maybe of Y&T(?). Tracks that appealed to me: "Sin For Me", "Bad Blood", "Hearts On Fire", "Girl's Got Trouble". Their first Something That Your Eyes Won't See is pretty good too...Another new release maybe worth checking out: Human Zoo/Echoes Beyond. I haven't really hear much yet but it's also along 80's 'melodic hard rock' lines...Atlantic/Another World is yet another one
@@wolf1977 I also have Something That Your Eyes Won't See and love that too! It's incredibly difficult to pick favourite songs due to the variety of styles used and the fact that each and every song is a gem but from the first album I'd probably go for Scream in Silence and, from the latest one, Moon Has the Night. Was lucky enough to see Remedy playing live when they made their first UK appearance at Tower of Fire in Manchester at the end of June and they were amazing - I am definitely hooked!
We just saw Journey and Def Leppard and my gf asked who is taking up the mantle of their type of music since they’re in their 60s and 70s and this album came to mind. Definitely in the running for favorite album of the year for me. Glad to see you enjoyed it, too.
Also a great live band. Saw them in 2023
Hey Pete, you and Jamie are not alone! Love these guys, definitely recommend the debut as I think it's a little more consistent, but I've only had this one for a couple of weeks so that might change! As to Steven and Simon, ha, what do they know!!!?
nice….id love for you to review the new Kittie record
Nestor is a great new band. Their debut was a real surprise, fun, wnergetic. This one is very good 4,5 out of 5. However, no surprise here.
Have listened to this one 4 times. 80's cheese, but its good cheese. It's slowly growing for me with each listen. My wife loves this album and I always need something to play for that.
Love both albums and the band is fantastic live. It is funny, I thought about Cats in Space before the video started and then you mentioned the band. Great that you gave Nestor a chance.
I dig ‘em, got a little Def Leppard vibe
My mate in Manchester introduced me to them when I was in England last year. Just really good fun AOR. So shame on Simon and Steven. H.E.A.T is also great for an 80's fix. The Swedes rule. 🇸🇪
Wow. No. Steven or Simon. Ok. 👍 thanks Pete for your time once again 👍💯
Do you like VON GROOVE ???
The band was found back in 1989 and did a sky rocket come back a couple of years ago....
sounds like a buy for me
Great AOR!
So this Swedish band was actually first formed in 1989? If so only took 'em 32 years to issue their first album....So this is 'melodic hard rock'. Right in line with their 2021 debut Kids In A Ghost Town, nothing earthshaking here but it's solid. I liked 6 tracks & skipped the slower ballads (like I almost always do with this type of music). Is this the album of the year? No, but not bad at all
Fun album. Sounds like a leftover band from the 80s. 4/5
