With all the hype around the a052, and everyone saying how wide they "actually are", I kinda expected the difference to be greater. All things considered, still wider than an rs4 🤣
We will have to check our how the the other tires compare. Rt660 re71r cr1
Contact patch needs to be measured inflated an under load. Roll the car though water, then onto cardboard and then measure the actual patch width.
That's a cool test! Would take some time to mount all the tires. Next season we will try that
Still not an exact measurement if the car has lots of camber. It will be a good to compare but can't measure. I say that because I called tirerack to get an idea of width of tires between the Toyo RA1, Yoko 052 and RT660 (all tires that they have in stock). the 052 and rt660 runs one size larger.
So which one is closer to 245mm?
It's pretty well known that Yokohama is gaming the system to get to be THE 200TW tire for racing series like SCCA.
If you need something to hit 245 go with the rs4. It's bigger but not as big as the yok
Which would be the better tire for aggressive street driving?
RS4 hands down, very durable
Which of these two tires is good for autocross?
And how do they behave when it's not warm asphalt?
I would use the a052 for auto x. Tires have reduced grip when cold
AO52 for sure
Thanks, fellas, i hope it's a full hit for next season 🏁💪
I’m looking to run a 235/40r18 and 255/35r18 on a open diff bmw m235i. I need a softer side wall on the rear to grip up properly. Also need acceptable wet weather capability.
Out of the A052, RE71RS (new type), AD08r or RS4, which would you recommend for this application?
Rs4 is the best all around tire
I run AO52 and I do not rate them in wet conditions
What about the diameter?
Not something we measured :(
thinking of a 235/40/18 on a 7.5" width wheel. It may donut effect on the tyre - will it be ok?
I would go 225
rs4 or cup2 which is the better?
Cup 2 are pricey, I like the RS4 personally. Would help to advise if you give me vehicle and usage info
@@xiiimotorsports but in china CUP2 cheaper than RS4 my tire's size is 245 40 R18
@@Devil0Reak What kind of price difference? if its just a few dollars I would go with RS4
@@xiiimotorsports thx guy about 50 dollars
