This means that E.T. should actually be from the "future" of the Star Wars galaxy, long after Endor, and contemporaneous with our present. i'm pretty sure all the star wars merch was because this movie came out in 1982, during a time when the first sw movies were still coming out and were wildly popular. poltergeist also came out in '82 and there's star wars merch everywhere there too. the yoda thing was just a cute joke
Lily Luna Remember Star Wars is in a galaxy far far away, what if George Lucas traveled to that galaxy and made films based off of the Galactic War, ET's species are in Phantom Menace so maybe he recognized Yoda.
John Williams squeezing in the Yoda theme in this scene is nothing short of pure musical genius. He referenced his own music in this movie. I love it.

you just blow the internet!!!!
He says “Home” when he sees Yoda because ET’s species are found in the back of The Phantom Menace.
I like how ET came out in 1982 and still looks very well aged and almost timeless, but Mac and Me came out much later and it looks even older.
I love how you can hear yoda theme at around 2:25😁😁😁
If E.T. and Star Wars exist together then explain why there is Star Wars merchandise in this movie.
Maybe it's a coincidence?
E.Ts species is in the Star Wars movies for a brief scene, also think of it as superman's pocket universe, a universe where he does not exist till writers create him in superman comics.
i'm pretty sure all the star wars merch was because this movie came out in 1982, during a time when the first sw movies were still coming out and were wildly popular. poltergeist also came out in '82 and there's star wars merch everywhere there too. the yoda thing was just a cute joke
Lily Luna Remember Star Wars is in a galaxy far far away, what if George Lucas traveled to that galaxy and made films based off of the Galactic War, ET's species are in Phantom Menace so maybe he recognized Yoda.
What if someone from a galaxy far far away brought the star wars stories to earth thats why they are divided in episodes.
Love the knife bit and the Yoda bit, you can get knives like that.
'Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU lol
Am I the only one watching the dog and how cute it's acting in the scene? 🤔
"Thank you"
"Thank you"
"hANK YUO"
It came full circle in Episode I.
