I just want to say thank you to colfax for all the help. I took my first Asvab on February 21st and got a 19. Today I went in to retake it and scored a 47. Really satisfied to get a passing score and the job I wanted was Military Police Officer and got it. I ship out April 22nd thank you colfax!
Fantastic, congratulations. Thank you
Just want to say thank you. I scored decently high on my asvab and got the chance to try out for the job I want. Just graduated boot camp. Your vids helped a lot
Great to hear
Thank you so much! Your videos, especially this one helped me so much and I achieved a 82 on my asvab today!
Great Hayden, glad to hear that it helped
Congratulations on your graduation I'm enlisting too and if you don't mind how many questions are on it and what would you advise me to focus on
Taking the asvab soon and forgot the material regarding circles and triangles since I've been out of school for a while. I appreciate this video sir.
Great to hear, good luck
Your videos are doing wonders for people!
Thank you, kind words
going to the marine corps took the asvab twice hoping your videos help me out on my 3rd try
Good luck
Your videos are great! I was doing question 5 on my own and I thought I was going to be wrong but turns out I was correct!
Great to hear
Thank you for there helpful videos! I’ve been out of Highschool for almost a year and I plan to do my ASVAB in July. I want to become a 68W and I’m so bad at math. Hopefully with these I’ll be able to score good in my ASVAB!
Good luck
I scored a 63! Thank you!! 🙏🏾
Fantastic
Taking the ASVAB tomorrow🤞🏾🤞🏾
Good luck
Im confused about number 6, How do do you know that you want to subtract 10x from both sides, how do you come to that conclusion what would happen uf you just subtracted 10x-5 and then added 12x+9 could you still arrive at the same answer. I am not good at math and im trying to learn but im confused
Hi Christian, you subtract the 10x because you are trying to get the x all by itself. There are other ways to solve, as long as you have to follow the rules of algebra, goal is to get the x by itself
@@ColfaxMath but why 10x why not 12x
@@IBIRIEAIK91 so you end up with with a positive if you subtracted 12x to 10x you would have gotten a -2x not 2x
I have a question for #6 hopefully this Channel is still active but after you do the first step and distribute to get 10x - 5=12x+9 why do you subtract the 10x from both sides instead of dividing I’m trying to understand the rules thanks for your response
It is the reverse of order of operations as you try and isolate the variable.
Great video sir! Thanks again 🙏
Thank you
Awesome.....great job.
Thank you
Take my my test on march 5th will come back with my score
Good luck
Good morning!!! Hope you are up!! Can you explain problem 1 please!!!
Nvm!!!
It is a factorial meaning the number time one less then the number all the way down. Once you write it all out, the numbers that are the same in the numerator and denominator cancel. So the 7,6,5,4,3,2,1 all cancel
Great help 👍 thanks
Thank you
Thank you for the video!
Thank you for watching
Is there an online version of this Test sir? Id love to follow along more as i know it would help me prepare to retake my Asvab test.
Unfortunately not, try to pause the video and.do the problem, unpause and continue
Would you say the math is the most important aspect of the ASVAB overall?
It's important yes. It is two of the sections
@@ColfaxMath hi sir do u do private tutoring please? Prepare someone for the ASVAB test?
@@idareyou6036 sorry to say I don't
Good video!!!!
Thank you
Hello watch the videos my ASVAB is tomorrow any other tips for the test I’m kind of nervous
Practice as much as possible, good luck
Quick question on 6, if you plugged in 2 without doing shortening. That would give you 15=15. Wouldn’t 1 be right as well?
Wouldn’t 2*
No, you have to multiply it by number out.front
i have a question, right now i'm in the process of joining the national guard. and i was thinking, if i liked this army thing. Is it possible to transfer to the marines? also thank you so much for your videos.
Id check with your recruiter
There no transfer, u have to do all over again if u wanna change from Air force to Marine or anything. Thats what my recruiter say
@@xdj_doritox6200 incorrect. It depends on the position you are lateralling over to.
Why didn’t you use 8 for number 3?
On problem 3 it is a cube root, what times itself three times is 64, 4×4×4= 64
For number 2 how should I know to add or subtract the exponents because I know that you can also add if the bases are the same
If the bases are the same. When you divide you subtract and when you multiply you add the exponents
@@ColfaxMath got it thank you for the help. God bless your videos really help
I have a question about number 8 you say the rule is when you multiply or divide by a negative you flip the sign so had I did it that way would the answer have been x greater than or equal too -2
Yes, with inequalities when you multiply or divide both sides by a negative the sign is reversed
Number 15 why did you round to 50 I’m confused on that one
Thank you
I thought two negatives make a positive? for question 5
When multiplying, negative times a negative is a positive
take my asvab tomorrow
Good luck Marie
parallelogram and rhombus both correct answers?
Yes
How different is this from Arithmetic reasoning?
I have a video on each of the math exams
@@ColfaxMath I mean like how are the two different? is there a lot of carry over or a little bit from AR to MK?
on question 7 im confused, i got 27 - 21 to give me 6. On the question it tells me to minus one from the other not add
When are you taking the Asvab ?
It's 27 - 0 + 26, the minus only applies to the zero so 27 + 21 gives you the 48
12:06 “math really isn’t that hard” me who’s failed math every year In high school 😔
It's never too late, hope this is helping to figure it out
@@ColfaxMath I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and they really do help, I have a test for a job opportunity next week and I’m nervous but your videos are a huge help, thank you
@@baltimorejay_1 good luck
Bro your moving to fast like question 7 where did you get the 21 from🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Sorry,.I'll try and slow it down. Try having a notebook and pencil out, pause the videos and work through the problem
How I can join your class
I have an online class called foundations of math. It is a playlist on my channel and will walk you through the most important math skills.
Bo really said math is not really that hard lmaooo
Ok
Why does the 7 cancel out ?
Same number in the numerator and denominator equals 1
Do You have to explain how you got the answers?
I don't have to, but it is the whole point of the video
@@ColfaxMath Not you, for the actual asvab exam/ test.. I have a test coming up so I wanted to know if I have to explain how I got the answers
@@starcas7177 oh, probably multiple choice
@@ColfaxMathfor #13 whered u get the 10
I need your help how can I get to you
The best thing is to watch the playlist Foundations of Math on my channel. It is a math course that starts at the very beginning of math and build skills so you can be successful
How do i get to the links to print off the practice test?
Copy the link in the description and paste it in a new browser window
@@ColfaxMath thanks! Do you have a answer key? Or how do we check ourselves if the video stops
Volume ft3
Ok
I need your help please
Hi Christal, I'm not really set up for private tutoring
I give up 😢
Don't give up, keep working at it and you will have some improvement
im bout to hop on same boat bro , and just find some else to do lmaooooo
