    I just really want to say THANK YOU!!!! I went from not knowing how to do long divison to doing it mentally! I started studying at the end of March but really wasn't catching on until I found Grammar Hero. Back in May, I took the ASVAB for the first time and scored a 44 with no good line scores for the Air Force. At that point I had just got done with his study guide playlist, with not having much confidence, I still took it anyways. Throughout the whole month of June I was practicing using his website/practice vids and other ASVAB resources and got my confidence up. On July 6th I got a higher score of 59 and went from barely qualifying for anything, to qualifying for most jobs. To anyone out there wondering if his free content is worth it, it is! You have to take the time and study with what best fits your schedule! All I'm waiting for now is to schedule my physical and make my job list. If anyone has questions, feel free to comment.

      In addition to helping people, I'm doing so without taking a dime from them or having to do one-on-one tutoring with anyone. I've noticed that some of the ASVAB tutors out there are charging kids hundreds of dollars for content that is mediocre at best. Good luck at MEPS!

    Last year I got a 21 on the practice asvab. Few months later i took it again with 2 days of studying and got a 41. This year I got a 57, and now I got an 80 on it. I’m joining the marines and I’m trying to get a 105 to make it into recon. Oh and I only studied for a few weeks. I now know most of algebra and quite a bit on geometry. I think I’m smarter than I thought. Before these questions looked impossible to solve but now I can smoke them in no time.

    a television show is 30 minutes long. during the show there are four 1-1/4 minute commercials. approximately what percentage of the show is commercial? can you please answer this

    • @GrammarHero
      @GrammarHero  3 года назад

      (4 x 1 and 1/4) = 5 minutes. 5/30 = 1/6 = 1 divided by six (long division) = .166666666 (the six repeats) = 16.67% or 16 2/3%.

    On number 5 wouldn’t it be B because combining like terms -2 + 5 wouldn’t it be a negative? So negative 3 ?

    • @GrammarHero
      @GrammarHero  3 года назад

      -2 + 5 is positive three. The solution shown in the video is the correct one.
      -2 + 5 is the same as 5 - 2, which is positive three.
      I have a video on adding and subtracting positive and negative numbers here: ruclips.net/video/cm5YAvxqnwo/видео.html
      Like the real ASVAB, my quizzes include some answer choices that are very close to the correct one to really see if people understand how to do every step, including how to add and subtract integers.

    Hey On #9 if we’re looking for the width, why was the perimeter formula used?

    • @GrammarHero
      @GrammarHero  3 года назад

      For that problem, you were given the perimeter of a rectangle and told its length is 3 inches more than its width. In order to find its width, you have to use the perimeter formula as I showed you in the video to represent those unknown values and ultimately find the width. How else would you do it?

    • @mykellmarie

      @@GrammarHero I thought using the width formula. I’ve never been good at math lol sorry.

    • @GrammarHero
      @GrammarHero  3 года назад

      There's no need to apologize! For rectangles, you only need to know two formulas: perimeter and area. That said, some of the questions will require you to use some basic algebra and one of those formulas to solve a word problem. Did you watch how I set the problem up and solved it?
