- quick little video today just to give you guys a life update that I have officially accepted my first job and residency position as a new graduate physical therapist. So excited to announce that I have been accepted into a women's health physical therapy residency program and will start working as an orthopedic and pelvic floor physical therapist this coming summer following graduation! Hi! I’m very new to the journey of pt and im not very sure about the exact steps to becoming one. do pts have to do a residency like medical students? or is it more of an option?
hi! residency is optional! PT is a 3 year doctorate program after undergrad + completing shadowing/pre-rec requirements. residency is usually a year after the DPT program for people who want more mentoring or specialization! hope this helps!
