You're a terrific drummer! I am a drummer as well, and so is my youngest son. I always tell him howis important it is to learn to use your wrists and keep them loose when playing. It minimizes big arm movement and reduces fatigue. I see so many kids trying to play these difficult songs with stiff wrists and too much forearm movement, then they're exhausted when the song is over! Everyone watch how Nate keeps his wrists loose and lets them do most of the work. He keeps his drums and cymbals fairly close too, so no need to reach very far for a cymbal. Nate, thanks for setting a good example!!
+Killian Deaton simply hold your sticks, keep your wrists loose, and practice your stroke without moving your arm at all. You would never actually play like this, it's just for wrist practice.
I've watched a handful of Everlong covers just now and I must say this is the most true-to-song version I've come across. If you closed your eyes you couldn't tell the drums were live. Of course, who would want to close their eyes, this was awesome to watch!
Best drum cover of this song on youtube. This guy has such a firm handle on the technical element of this song (mainly the tireless 16ths groove, but a bunch of smaller things as well) that he is freed up to focus on the ART of drumming it. His phrasing is SUPERB.
ZShenlong1 DAMN I could feel that energy when I saw the vid you recommended. Probably the best Everlong cover that's not completely faithful to the original drumming. Great stuff, thanks.
FINALLY someone who covers it true to the original cut! 99% of the covers out there do it like Taylor in his live concerts or something else completely rediculous. Breath of fresh air man. You're awesome!!
Im not a musician or drummer, but love watching drummers play. The timing, touch & co-ordination is mesmerising. This guy takes it to another level especially when he adds in tricks. Stick flips at 3:29 are insane..
now that is flawless GREAT job brother...LOVE how you didn't have to do any fancy fills just know the song perfect..Played this song professionally for years with multiple cover bands and finally found someone who can hit all the right fills....even hearing a lot of other drumers doing the bass wrong....nice job...
haha! I must admit, it was just a spur of the moment thing ... I was surprised I didn't drop and mess up the shoot. I do (for whatever reason) practice spins like that daily, though. It's something fun to do while watching TV or whatever. No making holes in the wall over it, though!! The most important thing is the song. Not the spins!! Thanks for the comments, man. Much appreciated!
i love 2 kinds of drummers. those who beat shit out of the kit, and those who look like it's another day in the office and make the whole kit swing & sway. great stuff.
I was just saying the same thing to myself...thought I was the only one that got it...hate watching other drummers ruin this song because of bad fills and fatigue...I am a perfectionist too LOL!!
Great job Bro!! I just discovered your vids. you have great technique. normally I cant stand stand seeing the stick tricks but you do it really tastefully in your vids. I really enjoyed watching you play.
Incredible!!! I'm a brand new drummer. 33 year old girl and this is my ambition! I have a long way to go considering I know nothing. Those single handled rolls are tough. But.... This is inspiring! Keep it up!
Took me a long time to get this song down. Up tempo 16th on the high hats with those foo fighters signature heavy single stroke fills. You make it look effortless. Great job.
nicely done, sir. Currently teaching myself drums and having very basic beats and fills close to being solid and now looking to expand. Came across this channel and really dig it. Great examples and good teaching
Why the hell does this not have more than a million views???? You're a monster bro!!!!💯💯💯 I can't imagine how good u must be now, since this was made years ago
@ETurnerOL you can download the Frets on Fire versions, Rockband (music game) clone for pc, all songs in the game (everlong is on Rockband 2) have all instruments separeted. Just google for "Rockband 2 rips for Fretsonfire".
Man... I thought I could do this.... it looks pretty simple but the hi-hat hitting is what's getting to me. Thanks for the good example video, I'll try to use it as a practice tool!!! And also, very very accurate cover!
why is everyone saying its the original drum audio?? he doesn't throw his own flare into it thats why it sounds spot on but if ye look and listen to the symbols he's hitting it is his drum kit you hear, it's just very well wired up and recorded...5*'s awesome cover!
Still the greatest cover of Everlong known to man. You sir are a drumming machine.
Andrew I agree. Fantastic
11 years later, and still the winner. His tempo is the only one that is spot on from all I have found on RUclips so far.
@@tgbateria agree completely, came far down the list of covers to find one that was truly good!
still the best in the end of 2022
By far... the most accurate drum cover ive seen thus far....
Hands down best everlong drum cover on youtube
This guy plays this song so effortlessly! Plus the stick tricks!
Thanks for the kind words! -Nate
Exactly! Like he’s just tapping his fingers. Remarkable.
Best everlong cover out there!
Why the 40 dislikes? This is the most accurate covers I've seen here in youtube.
Anyone who thumbs down this cover does not know the Foo's at all. I'm not sure I've seen Taylor Hawkins do it that spot on. Well done!!

+Rene Borroto how can I get to playing these songs easier through wrist? Is there something specific you could suggest I practice?
great comment
+Killian Deaton simply hold your sticks, keep your wrists loose, and practice your stroke without moving your arm at all. You would never actually play like this, it's just for wrist practice.
is it really just wrist though?? or do you have to use the finger technique

I find myself watching this video constantly! Like multiple times a day. So good! 🤘🤘

Best Everlong drum cover ever.
This man is a great, GREAT, drummer.
it was perfect man..best everlong cover I have seen
It's 2014 and this is still the best drum cover EVER(long)
/watch?v=BQcvNiEvRyc You're Welcome :)
ZShenlong1
DAMN I could feel that energy when I saw the vid you recommended. Probably the best Everlong cover that's not completely faithful to the original drumming. Great stuff, thanks.
Check out the video that he recommended at the end of his vid, that guy is amazing too :)
Almost 2018 and I still think this is the best drum cover
Long time coming, but here you go:

This man is a real drummer. No overacting like a clown, just pure talent. And still able to feel and transmit the rhythm
Why not more views? I've been watching this for years, best Everlong cover I've ever seen! Just amazing so effortless on such a demanding tune.
By far this is the coolest Everlong drum cover. Effortless! Awesome Nate
Wow. Just wow. So chilled and in absolute control. Spinning the sticks at 3:30 is just made of win.
That was AMAZIN how you just played so chilled out and did them spins with your sticks and yet didn't mess up so good.
Hello man, hope you are still active, you are an amazing drummer!
FINALLY someone who covers it true to the original cut! 99% of the covers out there do it like Taylor in his live concerts or something else completely rediculous. Breath of fresh air man. You're awesome!!

Stick flips at 3:29 are insane..
By far the most accurate drum cover of Everlong ever made. Sounds like I’m listening to the studio version of the song.
I am incredibly, enviously, admiringly impressed by your skill.
Robot! This dood is a machine!
Thanks man! -Nate
I love how he looks calm throughout the entire video despite playing the most perfect drum cover I've ever heard of any song
2022 still the best cover !
How in the name of God can people put a 'dislike' to this!!!
Incredible performance, discipline with such ease...brilliant.
14 years later and it's still the best cover of this song. RIP Taylor.
Effortless. I break my stones on this song. Love the stick flips too! Well done!
You are THE MACHINE!
It's awesome man..... I'm speechless!
Rock solid and seemingly effortless. Awesome
Dude - the stick flips - DID ANYBODY SEE THE STICK FLIPS???!!! Nice man!!!
+Jaime Varela My favorite part
Jaime Varela , I saw them too! bad ass

Great cover, can’t believe Taylor passed today. RIP.
U make it look so easy!! Good to see you holding the sticks a little closer to the ends getting maximum leverage
Your precision is incredible. I love this cover. Simply awesome!
He makes it look easy... so relaxed! That's what's impressive to me.
Great drum cover! Loved the stick tricks at the end.
This is just...PERFECT. I'm impressed. Everything is exactly like the original song, even those kicks in the fills
Most effortless cover I have ever seen. Props.
Bravo! Wow you have skills man! The stick flips were integrated so smoothly!
The best ever long cover I've seen. Great job Nate!
Thank you! -Nate
This song is a real hand workout with those 16ths on the hats.
Larry Tate Indeed! -Nate
this is by far my favorite song of all time
This is going to be the first song I learn when I get enough money and space for a nice drum set. Brilliant cover.
That was the best Foo Fighters drum cover- I did the snare hand stick twirl toward the end- Fantastic
now that is flawless GREAT job brother...LOVE how you didn't have to do any fancy fills just know the song perfect..Played this song professionally for years with multiple cover bands and finally found someone who can hit all the right fills....even hearing a lot of other drumers doing the bass wrong....nice job...
Dude the stick flips blew my mind. You are a god.
Up to now 14 clickers obviously have been mistaking. Awesome cover and a great kit for the song!
If this guy isn't in a Foo Fighters cover band then someone's missing out !! That was hit for hit perfect!!!
Great drum play! especially the stick spinning at 3:31! Talk about skills!
3:30
Righto then... You have fun with that.
MEANWHILE I'll be making holes in the wall trying to learn how the &%#@ to do that haha!
I would've never seen it unless you pointed it out.

That's bad-ass drumming. Love the sick juggling.
Thanks for posting.
Spot on. Nice stick tricks at the end.
This song's drumming takes masterful coordination
there's a weird beauty to your drumming, especially around the chorus. I love it!
Flawless. Loved the 4-on-the-floor bars... nobody gets that right. Cheers!
Videos like this show why drummers are not musicians. This guy is a fricking machine.
holding this beat is challenging, yet you're flipping some sticks ..u got talent bro. respect.
impeccable technique. Well done.
Wow I love the way you play! This is my favorite song!
Found you again after hearing you several years ago. YT making it hard to find you now
Incredible!!! I'm a brand new drummer. 33 year old girl and this is my ambition! I have a long way to go considering I know nothing. Those single handled rolls are tough. But.... This is inspiring! Keep it up!

Absolutely incredible mate. 50/10.
insane... my kit ships in a couple of weeks. can't wait to start learning!
Wow this is more than great I really admire you. Fantastic!!!!!!11
Very solid drumming. I play this song sometimes, too, and I'm finding that light weight sticks (7A~) are much of an advantage in the verses.
why is everyone saying its the original drum audio?? he doesn't throw his own flare into it thats why it sounds spot on but if ye look and listen to the symbols he's hitting it is his drum kit you hear, it's just very well wired up and recorded...5*'s awesome cover!
