Where I work we have a bunch of these Ditch Witch machines - SK800, many SK1550s and a SK3000. I always use a vacuum extractor down the dipstick tube to drain the oil. Much faster than waiting for the oil to drip out the drain tube on the bottom. I believe they use a hydraulic line as the oil drain tube and it's just too small. I can have the oil filter, hydraulic filter, inner and outer air filters, fuel filter, water separator changed, track tension set and they're still not done draining oil out the tube on the bottom lol. Our local dealer sucks but overall they are good machines. The Yanmars are pretty bulletproof in them. Occasional issues with the connectors for the DPF differential pressure sensor causing them to throw emissions systems related codes but it's a known issue with them. SK800 is especially great because it doesn't have any of the emissions BS. The 1550s are workhorses though, our crews run them well beyond their rated limits every day and they just don't give up. SK3000 is a giant turd, the factory specs are WAY overrated and the early versions don't have enough bolts holding the drive motors to the track frame, they'll start snapping off until finally all of them on one side let go and the ear on the motor gets bent and you spend several hours extracting snapped off bolts deep in the frame. Wish we'd never bought that POS, the later model track frames use more bolts for the motors.

Having issues woth my sk800. Turns on all hydraulics work but it doesnt go fordward or reverse, doesnt make hydraulic noise or anything only thing i found out is: one cable was bit by a rat most likely from the parking break. The spot where is at i cant move it to the dealer any one can help? Does the parking wire affect the tracks at all?
I have a sk 752 very similar but not a turbo model. I have trouble with air bubbles in the fuel line after the filter change. And yes I fill the new filter with fuel before installing. Any thoughts apreciated.
