The SK1050 and the SK1550 are truly refined. Previous years had a few quirky things and the 2021 models are leaving the contractor nothing to want. If your in the market for a full size skid then the SK3000 is for you.
I was wondering about the width issues and your honest review sold me on pulling the trigger on the 1050! Thank you bless you for sharing this review! Access to most jobs are tight! Saving money and time is the bottom line! If you can't get into a job sight the problems only escalate!
SK 800 WITH WEIGHT KIT GIVES YOU THE MOST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK ! I HAVE 3 VERSIONS OF THIS ! SK 755 SK752 AND SK 800 ALL ARE VERY CLOSE . I WOULD BUY THEM ALL AGAIN ! MY FAVORITE IS THE 1ST ONE ! THE SK 755 IS THE BEST . WISH I HAD BOUGHT 3 OF THEM !
I have the SK1050 and I would love to get the SK1550 but so many gates are 36” or 42” for me that’s the determining factor. Great review and I didn’t know about the 850 plus, great info on that.
We have an sk850 Plus,aka sk1050 it is an amazing machine and the more counterweight you put on the back the more you can lift, with that being said I just demoed the new Bobcat articulating loader and was completely blown away that I could drive anywhere on a customer's property and leave absolutely zero marks will a full bucket of stone the extending boom was amazing the power Bobcat was something that should be standard equipment on every Mini I will have a review coming soon on that
Big thanks for posting the review. I’m the guy who wrote the comment in your prior video. I’m 95% sold on the 1550 as the right machine for me. It will likely see the most use moving logs around my sawmill and stacking lumber to dry, so the additional lift capacity will be used for sure. I have a ton of other landscaping projects to do, but there aren’t really any space constraints. You hinted at my biggest reservation on these machines, and it’s the length. I have a couple hundred hours experience inside a Cat 236 skid loader, and you are very close to the bucket with great visibility of the cutting edge. On the 1550, I’m 10 feet away from the business end of the machine. Felt really odd. Is this something I just need to get used to and shouldn’t worry about? Or do experienced operators also want a much shorter machine from the perspective of proximity to the work? Thanks again!
To be honest with you, I'm looking forward to someone making something more reliable. These are very costly to run. Some of the known repairs are very expensive. I spend about 5 grand to keep them going each year.

Every other 1050 made is a N/A 37hp…the 1550 does indeed have a turbo as does the 900 and the 755 was the last of the non emission turbo units. A 1050 with a turbo would be an absolute unstoppable powerhouse.

We take a panel out. Then fix it back for the home owner if they ever need access again

Yes it does.......ours does its 2 years old. The 1550 rides much nicer tho.
