Hi Dean, great video and I love these walk around updates! We met back in November with my family and had a good time at your Dive Bar. You asked what bars tick the boxes for us. I remember years ago most bars had music videos showing, these days it appears like sport has taken over every TV set. I prefer bars where you can sit down and enjoy a chat while watching the world go by. On a previous trip about four years ago my wife and I went into a beer bar complex where all bars were showing soccer and were poorly patronised. We sat at an empty bar one row off the street to avoid the loud music wars between nearby bars. Unfortunately this bar was also showing sport, so we asked the bar girl to put a movie on. She found Peter Rabbit or something like that and we watched that. Both bar girls were laughing at the movie and before we knew it that bar was full of other people wanting to watch it also! So I thought that was an interesting observation for getting customers.
That’s a good story! I think the thing that seems to annoy a lot of people is music too loud, I enjoy keeping an on the sport while listening to good music

It’s easy to see why the beer bars aren’t busy. Most have below average girls, expensive beers, high barfines and no atmosphere. I loved Soi Pothole when I was there in October, especially Scarlets which had 60baht beer and fun girls, especially the boss lady.
I spent an evening in your bar, a few weeks ago, and met you, and buying Beer a couple of wines was definitely a good move. I also came in on one of Trevors crawl, you've got a great bar, great girls and a great atmosphere 👍

Music bars rely upon the quality of their bands/vocalists/musicians, Sports bars rely upon sporting events (World Cup etc) and comfortable surroundings, whilst Beer Bars and GCs rely upon the quality of their staff. All are somewhat beer price sensitive but that's secondary. If a beer bar failed it's probably because they couldn't get quality staff to make someone visit them instead of the beer bar 3 doors down. I gather you're all having issues getting quality staff, hence the high prices = high wages in the Agogos. So probably not a wise time to open a new beer bar unless you have that pipeline covered. However Pothole has certainly turned the corner from being a cheap massage street to a decent party street.
Less than a week to go and 1st stop is the best bar on the poon.dive bar😊.looking forward to seeing you all again.hopefully we can go and get merry over the darkside😇
Me and my Thai girlfriend go to Dinky's...but pretty much to hear the music at the triangle bar.Lol Its not nearly as loud from across the street.You can actually talk to each other
lol! I’ve got some N Irish guys on holiday at the moment, when they are drunk I understand about 50%!! My best mates from Cavern so I’m quite good with Irish accents!
All prices are coming down...just have to negotiate a little bit(not talking about drinks)...low season is on its way and it will be here sooner then you think.

Hi Paul, most guys are finding deals on sky scanner. Often it involves flying to Amsterdam and then direct from there . I can only report what I’m told, hope you can get a better deal than that, 1350 is crazy !
Hi Dean, Thanks much for the update. My suggestion is to identify any bars, gentlemens’ clubs, that offer at least one beer that is a step up from the shitty Thai commercial beers that are rubbish. Your bar has Beer Lao lager (nice to have dark). Two bars on soi pothole have Guinness, with a 3rd coming soon (new irish bar, next to Highrollers). Many bars have also added Asahi on draft or bottle, which is definitely a step up and not expensive. The Backyard Bar under David ownership had some Thai craft beers, which were very good, but no more under new owner. Besides Guinness, Highrollers has a stash of good German and Belgium beers in the upstairs cooler. I only go to bars that has at least one beer that has some flavor. Many bar owners put a major investment in renovations, girls, but don’t invest in a good beer selection, which is easy to fix. Thanks again.

I have seen the TV series on Pablo Escobar and let me tell you, that guy was pure evil, not hesitating to do the most horrific things to his enemies and doing atrocious torture on some people. Why a bar would choose to call itself "Esco-bar" and feature his picture is beyond me.
@@soilentgreen7 feel free to be a horrible person. How about calling the bar Josef Mengele, Ted Bundy or Jeffrey Dahmer ? They pale in comparison with Escobar.

I think you made a good decision selling the Vault. I did not think you would ever fix the leaks at the back.
The sad thing was I finally got them fixed, and it was simple. Those builders just deliberately made it hard! Hopefully I will have it sold this week😊
