  • Hello my friends and welcome back to my little painting channel. In this video I am using a few new paints and a couple of newer techniques to paint this amazing little model from the resident evil 2 board game. This game is made by Steamforged games and it has some really amazing little models from the original video game. I have been having a lot of fun bringing this set to life and I have loads and loads more to do.
    Let me know in the comments bellow if you enjoyed this video and found the painting tutorial useful and easy to follow.
    Thank you so much for your continued support and awesomely positive comments. This channel has been fuelled by you guys and the more you watch, comment and like the content the more content I will post. This channel was made during lockdown simply to show my friends how I paint in my spare time and since then it has grown into a nice little platform with quite a lot of content. Please feel free to ask any questions in the comments bellow and I will get back to you and answer you to the best of my ability.
    As always Thank you for tuning in and watching and I hope you enjoyed this video and I really do hope that it helps you on your painting adventures.
    I would like to add a special thank you to my good friend Mark Llewellyn for his amazing backing music. My videos wouldn't be anywhere near as good without them.
    Also a massive thank you to my good friend Chris Dixon for his artwork on my banner.

      Thanks so much. I’m so happy to know that these videos have so many different techniques for you to learn. I really wanted every video to be unique and have a different subject for people to enjoy. I am trying so hard to make the videos as individual as I can and to give out lots of cool styles too. Even if the subject isn’t directly something you would look to paint there might be useful info in each video that might help you to paint certain things. Thank you as always for the support and for going through the videos John. I really do appreciate the time and effort you and Edward have put into the channel.

      @@Bread0fHeaven every video is different so that they can be a varied learning experience, yet has similar elements repeating and reaffirming core techniques and you unique stamp and explanations making them part of you. The highest praise I feel came from Edward the other day he was watching a Sorasto video amazed at the skill and out of the mouths of babes came "Dan explains things better" his top the painters are:
      1. Dan Kirby
      2. Sorasto
      3. Ninjon
      4. Goobertown
      So in our opinion you are tops

      @@johnhale6079 wow that is indeed high praise. That is wonderful to know that the explanation is nice and clear and easy to follow. That is a fantastic and humbling compliment to receive. I am in awe of how much he has taken on board. He will grow into a fine painter at this rate and is taking on board so many different painters that he will learn so many techniques in such a quick time.

    A quick one to start the week! 👏 It does seem to be less daunting than other models, probably due to the long suit and plain colours it gets. Still, you managed to highlight all the little details, and you even added some of your own. Congrats on that! As regards the colour, I could appreciate the greenish tone of the coat a lot more here than in the picture tou uploaded before. Great choice! Keep em coming!

      Thank you so much! I'm so very happy to know you enjoyed this one. It's always nice to try and add a few extra bits here and there just to make these little models your own and in your own little style too. Sometimes these more "plain" models can be daunting due to the very basic colour scheme, but with a little bit of added extra care and attention you can really bring them to life.
      Thank you so much for watching and commenting my friend, I really appreciate it and I will be adding more to the channel soon too. Take care and I'll see you on the next one!

    good work, but Mr X's trenchcoat is dark army green. Im fussy about that, I am a "Retired" professional miniature painter...I always paint them exactly, accurate and how it looks in the RE video games. but there is no wrong and right about this. but good work.

      Thank you so much for the constructive comment mitchel. Trying to get the right shade of colour for the trench coat did take me a while. I always remember it being more of a green tone, but a lot of artwork and screenshots I saw also had it so dark it was almost black so I tried to go with a more subtle dark tone and try to keep it as close as possible.
      I’ll be honest I’m actually quite humbled that someone of your ability has watched and enjoyed the video I made. I appreciate you taking the time out to comment on here too as it’s the best way for the channel to grow. I am still learning a lot of good techniques and painting styles and I am by no means a great painter. It’s a case of sharing my hobby with others in case it helps them to learn quickly or to not make the same mistakes I do along the way.
      Thank you so much for being constructive and offering a comment that I’m sure other s will agree on too. Take care my friend and I hope o can make more context that you enjoy 👍🏻

    I have these minatures and been wanting to paint them. Do you have a certain brand for paimt that you recommend? Much appreciate it. Thanks in advance!!

    • @Bread0fHeaven
      @Bread0fHeaven  Год назад

      I use a mixed range of different paints to pint my minis. I don’t suggest one brand over another as they all have great and slightly different colours and things like that. The army Pinter and Vallejo make absolutely fantastic starter sets where you can get a certain theme of paint colours in one box that makes it so much easier to collect. It’s also a good starter point from both of these brands as they aren’t as expensive as some other companies of pints out there too. The best option is to think about what colours you will use a lot of and collect those first so that you have a variety of paints that will suit a lot of different situations. For the resident evil set as an example you could do with a few different skin colours and also a good pastel blue for all those police uniforms you’ll be painting.
      Sorry if this is a an ambiguous answer my friend. I try to make things as easy as possible when painting minis but collecting paint and gathering a lot of different paints takes time. I hope that I have been able to give you a starting point though and been able to help you think about where to start. I’m always happy to help if you need more advice though 👍🏻

      @Bread0fHeaven Thanks for your help. You have inspired me to start painting the minis. I'll take my time and go slowly, slow and steady wins the race lol. Another quick question: How did you build the gas station in the background, and where did you get the car as well? Sorry for all the questions, but I have been wanting to build a miniature city for the resident evil minatures. I just don't know where to begin or gather the materials.

    • @Bread0fHeaven
      @Bread0fHeaven  Год назад

      @@jesusochoa2275 these are great questions and I’ll be happy to help.
      The gas station is a Dino gas mdf set from ttcombat. It comes as a flat pack and you build and paint it however you like. You can find the link here : ttcombat.com/search?type=product%2Carticle%2Cpage&q=Dinogas+
      The cars are from the mantic games street scatter scenery set where you get a few cars, barricades and other debris like rubbish and cardboard boxes. You can find the link here : www.manticgames.com/terrain-crate/street-scatter/
      I hope this answers all of your questions and thank you so much for helping and supporting my little channel. I really appreciate your time my friend.

    Hi Dan, as I commented previously on the Radagast molding of the actual model, you dealt with the smooth casted molding of his head/coat differently. Wonderful painting and techniques. I will have to consider these when I paint such smooth surfaces.
    This video is very clear and easy to follow along. You have a fantastic style for bringing a lot information to your processes without confusing the viewer. I quite enjoy following your steps of how to bring up the whole model in stages and landing on a cohesive look for the piece.
    Thanks as always for your erudite explanations.
    Best wishes to you my friend. I'll see you again.

      Thank you as always for your kind words and well written comment my friend. It is so satisfying to know that these little videos show some useful techniques and that they are easy to follow. I often worry about going too much into certain techniques and not explaining them enough to help others. I’m very glad that the explanations are not too much. Thank you so much for joining me on this video once again. Thank you for your time and commitment to this channel and as always your input means so much to me and the development of the channel as a whole. Take care my friend and I’ll see you on the next one.
