It’s odd that the ‘R Design’ is the top spec before the sport versions, yet doesn’t come with LED Matrix headlights as standard. But has LED read lights? Odd. I have the Style model and those upgraded headlights are well worth it.
I must say as an owner of a mk8 style, I find absolutely nothing infuriating about the interior of the golf. Absolutely gorgeous car inside and is constantly being complimented by many passengers and people outside admiring it.
@@DarkReaper-or9el The mk7 is a beautiful car in its own right. Like all golf’s very well executed by VW. But the complements I get for the interior of my golf are just as up there too! I love the quality and the tech and the interior lighting. So I’m being very real! 😚
Offcourse you will not have issues if you buy new every 3 years. Try keeping you're MK8 for longer and then whe will talk again. VW makes trow away cars. No more quality.
Fantastic car but not within my budget unfortunately. Bought my MK4 Seat Leon from Peterborough branch and must say what an incredible drive - plus great value for money. My wife has just purchased an Ibiza FR which we collect this Saturday. My next vehicle will definitely be a MK8 Golf. Great reviews, keep up the good work!
I have had nothing but issues. My mark 8 has been in the garage 3 times in 2500 miles. Software issues, they diagnosed a new gateway was needed, waited 6 weeks for the repair and then it started again. AVOID VW
This is the mist frustrating car I have ever had. It could be so good but the infotainment system is absolute rubbish and a massive infringement on safety due to its clumsy operating requirements. Shit to be honest, take a leaf out of the BMW system. Will not be keeping thus car as its trying to be something it clearly isn’t .
I'd bought from new a Mk6 and Mk7 (still own it) and have no intention of buying the Mk8. The interior controls are abysmal and totally user unfriendly. Interior materials are lesser quality. Exterior "wide" mouth looks horrible. The fact that sales have totally collapsed by about 60% compared to the Mk7 demonstrates how customers are voting with their wallets and not buying. Lets observe the facts, they'd sold nearly 500,000 in 2018 - 2019 for the final year of Mk7 production and last years figures for Mk8 are down to 200,000. I'm sure VW will try to blame the "chip shortage" - yeah right, pull the other one. We're 3 years into this new model range. Removing physical controls has to be the worst decision VW have made. I'd avoid their ID.x models at all costs for the same reason.
I have just bought a brand new golf auto (style) and its the worst car I have ever driven. The good thing about it is the colour. On a test drive, with a similar car it was good, that's why I bought it. I've just paid £32000 for a diabolical, most crappy car I have ever owned. It's appalling, total crap.
Just bought a 2021 r line 2.0tdi dsg estate in moonstone grey. Looks amazing and was spec'd new to just over £41'000 😮😮. 1 owner fvwsh and and 50k. Mine for £20'000. Whats not to like 😁.
Only VW fan boys will be positive. Its unbelievable that a brand like this can come away with the rubbish they build these days. An old Lada is more reliable then a modern VW.

@tommietolan what version do you have, and any pros and cons you are finding with it. Any probs up to now. Like you I find it a fantastic looking car.
The new Golf MK8 Stle is awesome. Best VW I have owned and I’ve buying new every 3 years since 1983
ispybeeper Hi have you had any issues infotainment or warning lights?
@@jerryrawlings8885 no issues since purchase on November 2nd

My 2016 VW still in use by my son is still doing very well
When you're cold in winter. When you start a Golf 8 there is auto electric heating. Don't worry about setting AC.
Great review! Really want to get this version of the golf
Are you sure that you have to "Spec" a Golf with Assistive Cruise Control? It was standard on all golf 7s.

Thanks David! - Tim
I love the Mk8. It's a great design. If not very user friendly inside. We didn't get the normal version here stateside, only the spicy variants.
My best golf’s are golf mk4 and golf mk8 but the best golf is for me r line 1.5 t 150 dsg big enough car for me
Mk8 rline is amazing very pleased with mine

Disappointing that you didn't show the engine.

Oh no, I've just ordered one. Why do you hate it?
Looking at purchasing this. Can you give details on the issues you've had?

Lada fan boy 😂😂😂😂😂
Golf with polo design
Probably the most bland looking car on the road
No that’s a ford
Love the car...cringy comedy, not so much🤢
