I was kinda suprised that so many people love Guidance despite being such a unique (strange to me) fragrance, even my friends who are not into perfumes like it. The opening of Vert Malachite is bitter and indolic, but the dry down is so creamy and delicious! It lingers on clothes so beautifully! Please give it another chance!
Hello Hayley! It took me over 7 months of testing Guidance over and over and it was never a love or a like foR me all those months, until I wore it myself. I wore it even though I do also get that nauseating note and the “BO”….and I could not believe how many compliments I got that night at work. So I wore it again (just 2 sprays each time, back of my head and my back, far from my nose) and I consistently got compliments each time….and whenever I get a wafts of it, it became more appealing to me.Super super slow burn but now I really like it. I still get the nauseating note and the “BO” smell that people talk about, but the people who compliment me only smell the beautiful fragrance ❤️. It was my most complimented fragrance until I started wearing Bonbon Pop. 😁

this is the exact same for me, I did 3 sprays on a hot day and felt overly conscious and nauseated. I do one on the back of the neck and 1 spray between 2 wrists and now I love it. I think after the challenging opening dries down and it’s not too much around your neck, that’s the way to go but definitely a colder weather frag for me.

People always compliment Guidance on me but EYE dont love it. Based on the notes I thought I'd love it but no, it just gives a musty scent in my opinion. It gives AMAZING sillage and longevity tho. I only wear it when Im going to places where breaking the ice will be needed and people complimenting guidance is usually the way lol. Lineage is a complete NO for me lol. Vert didnt work for me either...I just dont see these Armani ones working for me, Rouge Malachite was another letdown with the excessive tuberose. I also returned Magneta Tanzanite last month. Did you review that one?
Green color looks so good on you. Perfume is very subjective and we all have different taste. Vert Malachite is a love💚💚💚 for me and it will be in my collection as long as it's produced. I also love Guidance. Have you tried Gardenia Antigua from Giorgio Armani Prive? If you like freshy floral scents, you may like it.

What you get with Guidance is the same thing that happens to me with Delina (the original, not the flankers) is beautiful, but something about it makes me so nauseous, my sister gets the same reaction. 😘

I personally love Aura. It wasn't a love at first sniff, but I grew to love it. Love to wear it in summer. I need to get my nose on guidance again. I smelled it when I went to London on vacation and went into Harrods, but I don't really remember it too much because the counter lady was just shoving me test strips left and right 😂. I totally forgot I had rouge malachite decant. I remember really liking it but didn't find an occasion to wear it. Will bust it out today and wear just to see.

Guidance, for me, is incredible. It took me a little bit to love it. It passes through phases (one of them is week old water in a vase of roses😂) but the creamy sandalwood and hazelnut in the end is delicious. I love it. As for vert malachite ….I loathe it. To me it smells like red door 😅
I have given Guidance so many chances to work for me and it just doesn't perform well. It now comes in a 50ml but is the 50 ml is only offered on their website. I am in the middle with Aura, not crazy about it but I do own a bottle and spray it occasionally but it is not my fave ❤❤❤

I bet I know what ingredient that’s making you nauseous in Amouage Guidance perfume. I think it’s the frankincense. When I was pregnant I used essential oils to make a belly cream and every time I smelled frankincense (even after pregnancy) I would get nauseous. I had to throw it all out. I haven’t smelled the perfume yet, trying to get a sample but it’s always sold out. I’m betting I’ll have the same reaction because of that note.

Rouge malachite doesn’t work for me as well. Unpopular opinion, but I can’t get onboard with it even for a toffee. Out of the said lot, Magenta Tanzanite and the green bottle are my favourites. I tried Vert Malachite recently again and I quite enjoyed it. White floral but with a greeness that gives a fresh feel. I am from Sri Lanka and the only way I can explain is, you know most of those white flowers are night blooming flowers yeah… so in the monsoon season there is a crisp fresh chill in the morning. That morning air is wrapped with the white flowers bloomed the night before. Not dense at all. It’s like an ethereal memory. But the thing is regardless, I can’t justify the price point for a such DNA.
I am also testing guidance, i really want to love it but i still dont really know… if they would sell a small bottle i would have bought it i think. Now it is too much of an investment for me.
I find Guidance to be too polarising. To me, it is too suffocating sweet in the opening and to my surprise, it dries down to Valaya which I also don't love.

“Note Porn” Love it ! Rise sounds yummy but I’m starting to think of. Cool weather scents now. Guidance is an enigma of a perfume, I was so so on it at first but I was sent a travel size and really like it now.
Yeah completely understand that, I would wear rise in autumn winter too because the florals are heavy but it could layer lovely with a woods fragrance! 🤩
I own Guidance and love it. The most gourmand leaning fragrance I own. Thankfully I don’t get the nutty vibe. Vert Malachite is gorgeous and one I do want. I also enjoy Bleu Lazuli and Bleu Turquoise. Magenta Tanzanite is stunning. I’d like to try Indigo Tanzanite as well. Rise sounds intriguing. I will sample as soon as I can. Totally get the fact done scents make you nauseous. Strong gourmands and strong coffee, caramel or toffee notes can do that for me 😦 Looking forward to the next first impressions.
15:49 you and I are in the same camp wondering what on earth everyone is on about. For me it’s like smelling wet skin where the sun don’t shine. It’s so godawful I had to go to another counter in Nieman Marcus to get it off my hand and the kind lady sprayed some Guerlain Bois D Armenie on it which I ended up buying! I am not new to Amouage. I have men’s interlude, women’s Epic, Honor, and Overture. But this Guidance is so yucky!! I hope they figure out what it is because I need to not ever get a fragrance with that note again. I’m terrified of blind buys now with all the RUclipsrs being so wrong about this perfume.

It’s super quick shipping, I’ve had it quicker than European orders. Agreed on the price! They do sell full bottles too so just depends what you are ordering I guess. UK, I typically use Imperial Fragrances but they don’t have nearly as many choices. 😞

Hi! I own Cruz del Sur II by X., in my opinion it's not for summer, at all... but it's delicious, warm and happy, on my skin it's mango + milk.
I'm a bit of an Aura fangirl 💚; it's another polarising one and this was when Mugler was it's best and still doing unique scents.

You should consider sampling Bleu Turqoise from the Armani Prive line. A salty beachy fragrance that projects and last a long time

Yeah I think I could maybe enjoy it if it wasn’t so potent. I mean props to them for creating such a beast but it is absolutely too strong

I find Guidance to be too polarising. To me, it is too suffocating sweet in the opening and to my surprise, it dries down to Valaya which I also don't love.
I dont fanzy Guidance really, its weird.. BUT.. Seriously, I get like WOW,YOU smell good!!!!! Everytime, from woman.. I dont know what they smell, but in the air this must smell amazing🙄

i feel the same way about Guidance. I have tried to love it but it does not work for me. I've tested half a dozen times and keep coming back to it b/c i want to like it but no success. very sad but i agree with you. something about it doesn't work for me.

Don’t worry I also do not love Guidance. I also get nauseous. The opening is beautiful but the dry down smells like tampons on my skin 😅

“Note Porn” Love it ! Rise sounds yummy but I’m starting to think of. Cool weather scents now. Guidance is an enigma of a perfume, I was so so on it at first but I was sent a travel size and really like it now.
Yeah completely understand that, I would wear rise in autumn winter too because the florals are heavy but it could layer lovely with a woods fragrance! 🤩

I own Guidance and love it. The most gourmand leaning fragrance I own. Thankfully I don’t get the nutty vibe.
Vert Malachite is gorgeous and one I do want. I also enjoy Bleu Lazuli and Bleu Turquoise. Magenta Tanzanite is stunning. I’d like to try Indigo Tanzanite as well.
Rise sounds intriguing. I will sample as soon as I can.
Totally get the fact done scents make you nauseous. Strong gourmands and strong coffee, caramel or toffee notes can do that for me 😦

15:49 you and I are in the same camp wondering what on earth everyone is on about. For me it’s like smelling wet skin where the sun don’t shine. It’s so godawful I had to go to another counter in Nieman Marcus to get it off my hand and the kind lady sprayed some Guerlain Bois D Armenie on it which I ended up buying! I am not new to Amouage. I have men’s interlude, women’s Epic, Honor, and Overture. But this Guidance is so yucky!! I hope they figure out what it is because I need to not ever get a fragrance with that note again. I’m terrified of blind buys now with all the RUclipsrs being so wrong about this perfume.

It’s super quick shipping, I’ve had it quicker than European orders. Agreed on the price! They do sell full bottles too so just depends what you are ordering I guess. UK, I typically use Imperial Fragrances but they don’t have nearly as many choices. 😞
