    I've had this problem with hair loss. I had a feeling it was from the mounjaro. Thank you for the tips.

    Rapid weight loss ALWAYS causes hair loss, medications or not.

      Not always. I lost 40 pounds in 4 months when I was 42 and didn't have any hair loss. As soon as I took the first shot of 10.0 mounjaro my hair started falling out

    I started monjouro due to type 2 diabetes at a weight of 142 lbs. with an A1C of 7.1 because metformin stopped working for me after 2 years. I have been on it for 2 months and have only lost 5 pounds but I have lost so much hair. 😢

      Same but my hair loss started with the 10.0 shot of mounjaro. Medications effect people differently. Been on mj for 6 months now and have only lost 28 pounds

    Hair loss is a real side effect on Ozempic and similar drugs. I’m lean and fit and I haven’t lost any weight from this drug bc I don’t need to, but I’ve lost a ton of hair on my head. It’s not a phenomenon, it is a REAL undisclosed side effect. I’m not malnourished either as I workout appropriately 2 hrs a day 4-6 days a week and I eat 3-4 very well balanced meals including ALL food groups. I also had my vitamin and mineral levels checked a month ago. Everything they tested me for came back in the normal range. SO, with a lean healthy body, proper nutrition and hair loss starting approximately 2-3 weeks after the onset of OZ, how it is NOT a side effect of this drug? There’s absolutely no other logical reason or explanation for me. What about all the large numbers of other ppl complaining of hair loss as well? It can’t just be a phenomenon to those of us experiencing this as a side effect. My question is, how are so many experiencing hair loss now, yet during the trial phase it wasn’t a known problem? I don’t believe a word of any of this complete BS. Hair loss is a side effect and nothing more nor nothing less. Shame on the pharmaceutical companies that are refusing to acknowledge this. I hope a class action lawsuit is soon to follow.

      I agree! I’ve been on this drug for 7 months and lost 27 lbs. I noticed that this drug has caused more hair loss than any “stress shed”. I believe it’s not from a nutrient deficiency, it’s just a side effect just like ADHD medication did you me. For this reason, I’m just raw doggin’ my ADHD and getting off ozempic.

      The chemist cannot predict mathematically the rate in which people will metabolize this drug. Everyone has different blood panels. This is basic biology for hair to thin during stress

    My weight loss with mounjaro has not been rapid. Lost 10 pounds the first month on 2.5. Then the next 8 weeks on 5.0 no weight loss at all. Couldn't get 7.5 due to shortage so I jumped to the 10.0. After the first shot of the 10.0 my hair started falling out, and has continued to fall out for the next 9 weeks. As of date have only lost 28 pounds. I've had more of a rapid weight loss in the past and hair never fell out. I'm scared to go up to the 12.5.

      I’d rather be chubby and cute, than with thinning hair. I lost 26 lbs in 7 months on ozempic. I also wasn’t greatly over weight. I now sit at 165 and will just lose the rest the old fashioned way. I’ve done it before without any drug and am determined to do it again to get back to 132 lbs. I’m short so this was a ideal weight for me that I maintained for yrs. Best of luck to you!

    Ozempic definietly has ruined my hair, very badly.
    I took it for months and lost lots of hair. I stopped taking it and 7 weeks later my hair stopped falling out.
    However, my Dr emphatically said it wasn’t Ozempic causing the hair loss. So I went back on it. One month later more excessive hair loss. 🤬😡🤬
    I stopped the crap 5 weeks ago, and waiting just miserably waiting to hit the 7 week mark again in order for this nightmare to stop..
    My hair long thick golden blond was my pride and joy. Now, I barely and I do mean barely- have any left. And the small amount that is left is VERY thin. I HATE Ozempic.

    After having my daughter in 2018 I've noticed that my telogen phase seem to be in Nov - Dec was again was shedding a lot of hair again. But I've noticed that before. I'm currently on mounjaro I just recently got my hair cut again & it has grown. I feel my hair is much my healthier now. My stress levels have decreased & I've been taking my vitamins faithful again.

      Happy for you that your hair is much healthier now, but even better is what you said about your stress levels having decreased. That is great. With the Nov - Dec thing, is it weather related? Winter? Just thinking aloud here. All the best.

    Very informative... 🤠
    I want to use ozempic for weight loss, as im 117kg and asthmatic using symbocort,, i can't go for exercise u know due to asthma...
    BUT im afraid of cirrhosis and thyroid issues presently i dont have this kinda problems and i hv no family history of diabetes,
    WHAT YOU WILL SUGGEST FOR ME ... Should I use this.... Tnx

    • @HealthRX
      @HealthRX  Год назад

      Thanks for watching. So you mention thyroid issues - the warning for this class of medications, as it relates to thyroid issues, is very specific to a particular type of thyroid cancer. So having hyper or hypothyroidism should not necessarily rule you out of using this class of medication. Your doctor can do a complete check and rule out any personal or family history of that kind of cancer as well as make sure you don't have any history of pancreatitis etc. All the best.

    What medicines causes people to gain weight? What supplements causes people to lose weight?

  • @ziyizhang3047
    @ziyizhang3047 Год назад

    Does hair loss stop when you stop taking the medication or you can continue taking the medication until it levels off. I’m concerned if a person continues to take it they will continue to lose hair.

    • @HealthRX
      @HealthRX  Год назад +2

      For the most part, the hair grows back. The hair loss is not necessarily a direct side effect of the medication per se, but the shock the body goes through due to the rapid weight loss.
      Once your weight gets into some form of equilibrium, the hair loss should typically stop. Of course, granted you are keeping up with good nutrition etc. All the best.

      @@HealthRX I just don't know if I should stop taking the medication completely, I have stopped for a past month because my hair has been coming out since October, in small amounts later in larger ones. But I have been on this medication since July. It doesn't seem like stopping it has helped, but I also know it hasn't been very long. If it will eventually taper off that's ok. But if it will continue to come out, I'm not sure.
