Ben is so articulate and engaging as always. It's such a plus when someone is as intelligent and interesting as he is. Clearly, he's passionate about what he does, enjoys it, is very modest, and always appreciates everyone he works with and credits them as being instrumental, and realizes how lucky he is to be part of these opportunities. It's also a pleasure to get his unique perspective as an insider and the very special one as the show's lead and also a director and writer.
He's always been so natural in playing Gordon that I almost thought he wasn't really playing a character, but now that I see his real identity I am very impressed
The episode he directed, was such a surprise as it was a big step into seeing what the actual villains can do. Having the safe approach can be so boring, this was like a wake-up call and he should get more work as a director.
It's so weird to me that Ben's Jim Gordon reminds me SO much of Gary Oldman's Jim Gordon. I actually thought he took inspiration from gary's version when I first saw Gotham. Great minds think alike, eh?
I'm so glad this show has become this amazing, I've watched from the start, but really the only character I cared about in season 1 was penguin, then something magical happened when Cameron came along and got to give us a tease of what was to come. And was when season 2 started it felt like a totally different show, and actually gave me some of the same feelings I got while watching Hannibal. That show had the same problem with the first 4 episodes where it felt like CSI Hannibal, but after that it was more about the characters living and trying to survive in this heightened both ugly and beautiful reality. With Gotham season 2 they did something really clever with the world building, in most universes Batman is the one who creates his villans, his rouges mirroring him in several ways. But here it actually makes more sense why Bruce would one day create that persona because Gotham is so crazy that he needed to do something drastic to get people's attention and fear. Really hoping that we either get a time jump, or that they will do a mini series after this show is done where we get to see Bruce having come back from training and doing a version of year one and mix it with the man who laughs and the long halloween.
Every single question the interviewer asked for a half hour was some type of variation of “so what is it like to direct an episode of Gotham?“ they literally don’t discuss season 4 at all here
omg Jervis is so savage. I luv it! I still feel bad for him though. The poor guy needs some help in getting closure. I do miss his more calm personality. At least he still retains his unpredictable nature. He's sooo much fun to watch.

Probably the most insane version of the Mad Hatter. Seriously, how has this guy not gotten a chance to shine on the big screen yet?
MadHatter4ever jerome also
true but i think that jerome was created specifically for this show. like fish mooney. still, a jerome movie would be pretty cool
ADivingQueen jerome is the joker they’re just not allowed to call him that
Teriyaki Pigeon Jerome is dead my guy
Ben seems like a very smart guy when it comes to acting and directing. Hope to see more of him in tv and even movies.

Dude! "One of My Three Soups" was a great episode, congrats!
the Penguin OWNS this show !!!
I love Ben! I honestly believe after watching this interview that he IS Jim Gordon... if he decided to go into the arts rather than the GCPD

I think his time in Arkham messed up Jervis' mind more than it already was.
love you in Gotham
Is this the first time that Jervis called Jim, Jim? He usually says James.
GCPD HANDS UP!
Wow what a genius he needs to direct some movies I would die

They don't call him Mad Hatter for nothing! 😈🎩
American James McAvoy
"A man can multitask" can he tho lbr
Perfectly straight hairline, now those are good genes to pass on......
Lol what if this is another version of Jim Gordon from one of Dr strange labs 😂. I really cherish the fake James Gordon acting.
Ben is such a ham... I wish I got ham... ba dum tsss!
This video should be retitled "Ben Mckenzie talks about direction for the better part of 30 minutes"! I mean, where's the talk about Gotham?!
Ryan looking old
First
That's the most interesting boring interview I've ever seen
