- Thursday 30th May would see 61306 'Mayflower' return to the Welsh borders on the Welsh Marches Express from High Wycombe to Shrewsbury and return with the steam coming on and off at Bristol. We started the day at Abergavenny where we see her storming through trying to make up for some lost time in the Bristol area with some lovely whistles. For the next shot we headed to Leominster where see her in fine fettle after her water stop at Hereford. For the return I wasn't sure on locations, however after receiving news that 61306 had failed at Shrewsbury with a possible broken leaf spring on the tender and 47828 was now due to the haul the train on the return I headed for Ludlow for a quick shot of the 47 speeding her way towards Bristol.
Thanks for watching, kind regards Tom
Nice video
Thank you!
She wasnt hanging around in these shots!
She certainly was going some!
I saw her at Shrewsbury today
Nice!
@@WestCountrySteamVideos oh yes and another tour is northern belle did not stop at Shrewsbury by west coast railway
@@DanLoveLexa Yes I saw the northern belle passing Leominster it was really giving it some!
Broken leaf spring on tender,
Lucky it wasn't a main driver spring seeing some of the track geometry through these points ! Tender springs are easier to change and just need muscle, jacks and packing.
Yeah was ashame but these things happen sometimes don't they
@@gavinwhitelaw86Yeah very true, think similar thing happened last year with 60007 on this tour
