Hey Paul! I am an expert when it comes to washing machines. If you get another one, get a used one as old as possible. And stay away from any major appliance made by Samsung. Have a great day Paul!

I had a top of the line Maytag washer and gas dryer both purchased as a set in August of 1985. The washer finally died in 2018 (the motor died and could not be replaced as there are no parts after 33 years) and the gas dryer was still going strong when I sold my house in 2018. Talk about dependable! I was told by the appliance repairman that 1985 was one of the last years when Maytag really made a good product. Nowadays you have to watch what you buy in appliances because everything is expensive and you certainly won't get 33 years out of any of them. BTW my mother-in-law had a Frigidaire refrigerator that she bought in the 1950's. It was still running just fine and cooling pop and beer in her basement when she passed away in 2003! We sold the house with that refrigerator still in the basement humming along! I don't think she ever had it serviced either in all that time. Amazing! Those appliance days are long gone.

Paul if you find any propane tanks with the new type value and it is in good condition you can have it rectified by a big propane supplier and all you have to get is a propane heater! I would recommend a BIG BUDDY CERAMIC HEATER for your new storage shop!

Cute little early 50s dressing table. It's rock maple, no particular crazy style, but it's solid furniture. It matches my bedroom set - plain, and a little ugly but solid. The mattress coils might have been planned to be a hanging wall garden, but it never happened and finally they were kicking the mattress loose. As for a washing machine... LOL. Scrap it!
I love mid century rock maple furniture it’s one of my favorite styles of furniture & wood. I don’t think it’s ugly myself, I enjoy it’s simplicity. He really did score a lovely piece.

I had a memory pop up on Facebook 2 days ago Forrest Gump saying "And just like that everyone in Texas is making chili!" Apparently it dropped down below freezing within a day of the same thing happening this year. I don't remember it getting that cold this early either. 🤔

Some nice finds today..that desk/vanity thing is really nice..chair looks like it needs some gluing to tighten it up tho. easy fix.. looks like you got yourself a snowblower as well.

I just rescued 2 snow blowers and a lawnmower from the garbage, all they needed was the carb cleaned to get them running. Your killing me everytime you toss a lawnmower that looks good 15 min to clean carb.

I have family living in Chicago suburbs and I have only been to their house a hand full of times but it cost me so much when I was moving people in and out of Chicago I had to refuse runs there and new York until they started to pay tolls then right back to them places but Chicago is pretty bad nowadays and it sure isn't as calm as it was in the 70s lol well no where is really but Chicago has started to move south and we are getting all the drama from there so Paul I would live there if not further south or back to Cali where I was raised

You can unplug the door switch and it should run without it it still stopping the same space it could be something else
hey paul, i dont know if you'd be interested in the extra leg work but i figured i'd mention, if you can find a local mom n pop hardware type store that does lawn mower repair, you can get those nicer lawn mowers like that husqvarna up and running again for around 20 bucks. it likely only needs a carb cleaned and blade sharpened. plus, if you waited until you had 3 of them, you might be able to work out a deal where they fix 2 for you and keep the third as payment. obviously i wouldnt bother with the trashier ones but that husqy looked to be in good shape
U should take on a project like that one day sand it down restrain it and look at the work u did to make it like new it was a very nice desk

Small scrap load but every bit counts. That was a beautuful desk. We have a birds eye maple dresser & desk my husband's grandfather made way back when my husband is 67 so the pieces are quite old he signed them but no data. Have a blessed week. 😃🙂🇨🇦

Love your show :) hay it's crazy how easy it is to refinish the desk top... get a good gel stripper and remove the old varnish, lightly sand and just put a layer of varnish on. :) that's going to be beautiful .... great pick

Hey Paul perhaps god puts those opportunities you interpret as moray wrong a way to finance a charity you don't mind supporting such as the rebates that might benefit the poor. It reminds me of a pastor or religious person wo tells this story of a man praying for help an after many opportunities placed before him he finally meets god and asked why he never had his prayers answered .Perhaps these are your opportunity's, just putting it out there.I see so many chances in these kinds of videos that morals no matter how well intentioned seem to block out the fact it was put in the trash as an opportunity to use for good. If you have misgivings talk to your spiritual advisors after all until you meet your maker its all just one mans opinion. Which is why I usually never respond with my flawed morality opinions sorry something made me respond to that dehumidifier rebate thing the units are bad the money is per bad unit if you can get it why not treat it as money for the poor help them not the corporations the money they made alone on the funds set aside in interest negates the loss they pay out. God sets opportunity's in your path use them, my view sorry...........

It got cold down here in Tennessee as well. Hot as heck one day and now cold for two days. Really cold. This is November weather, not before Halloween. Very strange. Even though back in the late 80's it actually snowed on Halloween.

I was so glad you picked up that vanity set. I was thinking even if it sits in your workshop in your home for as long as you have a granddaughter who knows you might have a granddaughter who would love to have that vanity set in time. Or your son might get married before you know it and his wife would love to have it it's a wonderful well-made set. And please continue talking about your father your mother those in your life. I love that you have a job where you can pick up your son like you said at the school and his friend and look how handy they came in and picking up that piano.
