  • The new 2017 Fiat Fullback offers off-roading capabilities, a large 4.8 metre square load bed and is an appealing alternative for company car drivers.
Essentially a re-badged Mitsubishi L200, the Fullback claims to be more stylish and appealing, with its entry-level model being much more lavish than its equivalent Japanese counterpart.
But with competition from the luxurious Volkswagen Amarok, can the Fullback carve itself a place in the pick-up market?
We take the new 2017 Fiat Fullback pick-up truck for a spin to see.
In this review, we take an in-depth look at the interior of the Fiat Fullback including its boot size, dashboard and back seats. We then run through performance, price and finish up with the all-important verdict - is the Fiat Fullback a good Pick up?

Just bought a Fullback this week and im delighted with it.
The value for money with the Fiat over other trucks in 2023 market is nuts.
There is a high demand for good trucks and as a result prices are high but the inflated prices hasn’t hit the fiat the same.
I got a 2017 low milage euro6 fullback LX for the same price as a 2013 Ford Ranger that still had a CD player 😅

I might be misinterpreting the prices quoted in the video but it sounds like the £5k price difference is because one is quoted Plus VAT while the Fullback is inclusive of 20% VAT.
The vast majority of new pickups are bought by VAT rebate qualifying businesses, so commercial vehicles like this are almost always quoted 'plus VAT'. Quoting inclusive of VAT is a fundamental error for this class of vehicle and mixing comparison prices, one inclusive and one plus is just, well, wrong.

I was a passenger in L200 not so long ago and the cabin is huuuge! Also the ride was OK, even tho the road was full patholes. I really like puckups, so maybe I'm biased :)

We had one on lease the Fiat Fullback LX for two years. It was amazing, smooth, very comfortable on long journeys and I loved being sat high up. I disagree with the comments about the L200 looking better, this one is definetly a lot more stylish and sporty looking. I'm not keen on the grill on the L200. The Fullback my favourite pickup and definitely looks better than any Nissan navara or Toyota hilux or even a volkswagen amerok.

The Fiat Fullback is known as the Mitsubishi Triton Pickup and design language. It's New body has the layout and space inside the cabin and outside the Aerodynamics.

Went to view a L200 39.000 miles came home with a fullback cheaper and only 5200 miles totally as new .lot smoother than my Isuzu d max.

Just to add on to my previous comment. Our pickup coped well on roads. Yes pickups may be a bit bumpy but it didn't impact ride comfort for us. We've got a saab 9-3 vector sport. It's lower to sit in and that was fat more bumper than the fiat fullback on roads. Obviously that'll be duo to it having low profile tyres so it was very bouncy.

Why choose one of these over the l200 Thanks

When you buy it second hand it's upto 5k cheaper than a l200. Mines was a 2017 lx the euro 6 one. And it was 17,500 Inc the vat nearest l200 was 16,750 plus vat. So about 2.6k cheaper and l200 was a warrior so about the same spec.

I dont no why peaple are compareing pickups with saloon cars???? By a pickup or a saloon dont compare them as the same sort of transport and as for the stupid coments about comfort i have 3 pickups and a 2015 bmw a 2014 jag and a mercedes 98%of the time i take the pickup as they are much moor comfortable the cars are seriously hard rides its a pickup for me all the way....as for the cars the wife can have them all day long PS she looks better inthe cars than me enyway 😃😃😃😃

I was quite impressed until the price. I thought it was going to undercut the L200

Car Keys UK defo, the L200 has a truck brand and a great reputation, it seems a strange move for fiat to think it can offer an almost similar offering out of the gate for a great price.
They should of come in with a more workman like fiat L200 clone, think dacia sandero. Nice and cheap, hard waring plastics, one that builders would buy and abuse. Build up a reputation in the van 4x4 world, then after 3 years bring out this posher version.
It comes across as arrogant to me.

5:03 is the lid not secured properly? Or is it just poor quality as it's bouncing in place!

Sorry that's our bad. We were in such a rush jumping in and out the back to get the equipment that we didn't lock it properly before this shot. It does lock nice and secure if you lock it properly :)

Trucks are in no way as comfortable as a saloon. Unless you actually need the capabilities, and most don't, there is no reason to buy one. If I had to, I would go with the Amarok, as it is the better of these penalty boxes.
