I just bought a 2015 X5 and your channel is a very big help. Love all your content and I find them all very helpful. I also like the light humor you place in each vid. Just don't get into trouble with the wife lol
in europe is standard in every new car, some with emergengy indicator after stopping. in US not? and interesting lots german words in the code of BimmerCode App :D
I don’t think so live in Canada and have never seen this before I was taught to do it manually to let people behind me know there is a hazard but can’t do that when you actually have to brake hard
I thought of this warning flashing brake light idea back in 2000 and contacted every major car manufacturer and electronics company, along with the national highway safety patrol in the US. I was 20 at the time, and all I wanted was for safer roads and less accidents. I even contacted insurance companies and told them about the way it could save them money with fewer crashes on the road. All I wanted monetarily was $5 for every new car sold with this technology. Now, i find out this became a reality! Any lawyers out there know if I have any grounds for any type of suit since i massed mailed my idea out to just about every company?
Eddie, Thank you so much for posting this video, it was super helpful!🙏 I was able to change the setting on my pre-lci G30 (540iX), but wanted to ask what speed I need to hit before panic braking to make them work? I used your settings for the BFD (hard force and 5 m/s), but could not tell checking from my rear view mirror at night so…
hi, I coded my F16 X6 exactly followed by your tutorial, but the car showed lighting malfunction after I do emergency braking. Do you have any idea what's going wrong? Thank you
I mean to illuminate the bends from the fog light when turning the steering wheel, it works probably up to 20-30 km / h, I know that you can code in BimmerCode but I do not know where to look and I do not want to mix something up
The coding steps on older BMWs will be different than those shown in this video. You will first have to go into two other modules using Bimmercode and enable ( set to "active" ) the Brake Force Display. Then you will go into Expert mode, and even there the codes you will search for and change differ from these. There are other RUclips content creators ( ThicWhips ) that go over these steps in detail. If you take your time and carefully follow the coding steps, you will have a successful outcome with which you will be very pleased.
Do you get a warning message, if this is activated. Something like. Lighting error, drive careful. Make sure it safe to continue…. Then back to normal.
I removed my flashing brake light system. About half the cars behind me turned on their bright lights, day or night. It just wasn't worth it. Drivers would also get VERY aggressive to get in front of me.
For this to worth effectively, I have set my braking to flash at HARD braking instead of the medium which is too sensitive. So the only time it should flash is when I’m nearly standing on the brakes.
@@eddiemcarsGreat video homie. Shame. The American mindset always ruins a great presentation of a life saving feature. Thank you for taking the time to share.

Do you have to go into expert mode, because from what I could see it's under two sections, front electronic module and rear but it's not under expert mode...
My reading of the forums is that you can't get flashing brake lights on the North American G series BMWs without changing the tail light assembly to the European version, that on NA Gx you can code brighter tail lights on hard braking but it won't flash. Anyone know if this is correct or tried to code flashing brake lights on a g-series BMW? (I think this video has the F15?)

The best advice I can give you is to skip forward. I explained the features, the purpose, and why you would need this. While some people already know what this is. Others do not. Either way, it was all in a 10-minute video. 😯
This is how I see it Eugene...You know the reason for this that's why you want to get right to it. Some people don't know the reason for this so they appreciate the explanation why you need this done.

I wish it was mandatory here in North America!
I don’t think so live in Canada and have never seen this before I was taught to do it manually to let people behind me know there is a hazard but can’t do that when you actually have to brake hard
I think it’s mandatory for all new cars to have that as teslas there have that aswell.
It’s illegal in the US. That’s why, from what I could find, flashing brake lights are “Too distracting.”

Nicely done dude - thank you! I'll be making that change.
Yo Ed! You just made my day. I've been waiting for you to do this. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you brother.
Glad I could help!
In Europe, every newish car comes with this as standard. If not strobing brake lights, then at the very least hazzard lights. It's very useful 👍
I wish it were mandatory here!
This needs to be required for American cars ! Considering how horrible drivers are here …
I agree.
Instead I see the distracting aftermarket pulsing 3rd brake light that’s annoying to follow in stop and go traffic.

Thank you for another awesome BMW coding video ED!!!!
Hola campeón, yo he hecho igual como estás comentando en el vídeo, pero en mi X6 f16 de 2015 no funciona… No sabes porque? Gracias
Another great video. I have in this on my F86. Love it.
Another great video, thanks Ed.
Love this channel!
Was this in America or Europe but anyways great video

Now just share how your brakes don’t squeak EVERY SINGLE TIME the car stops and you’d really be helping out fellow X5M bretherin!
I had to change the brake pads to Powerstop Z23
sounds like it's time for new brakes lol
can i equip this on a Chrysler 300 2017 i wonder?
Which iPhone mount is that?
I have a link for it in the description!
Great job
hey, I have a question, I want to code fog corner lighting, I know you can use expert mode, do you know where to look? thanks greetings
Body_Domain_controller
But I thought corner fogs were enabled by default?

Do I need to be connected to wifi in order to code?
Can yo unlock the folding mirrors when locking the car feature with this tool?
Yes, you can code the have folding mirrors. Under the Body Domain Controller
Which OBD do you recommend?

It depends on the car. On my F80 I don’t have to go under expert mode but the F85 I do.

Is there a remote start code for a 2015 x5 i35 I can't find a video for it..please help..🥴🤔
No remote start. No available on the F15. Remote start wasn’t available until the 2020 models via BMW app.
@@eddiemcars what bmw app?
What in the world did you hit at the beginning of the video?
It was good acting! Lol

Yes, this is the F85! I haven’t tried a G chassis car to see what the difference is.
Anyone know if this will work on a 2021 G05 X5 ?
Does the G05 have the brake force display?
What yr is your x5? some people on forums are getting error on idrive whenever the flashing activates. Wondering if you had any errors?
Mine is a 2016. So far no errors! 🤞🏽

Do you know German? 😮
This is standard in Europe
