The same guy who was one of the first artists appearing on tv (black and white) then advanced to the first ones on color tv is now one of the first ones using this kind of technology for a music video. You Sir Paul McCartney are officially a legend. I love the song, I love how the video involves children, teens and adults all at the same time, this is what our generation needs.
I was very excited to help out and be at this film shoot. I'd never experienced anything like it before. I had the privilege of meeting most of the people involved, from the the riggers and sparky's to the arts team, the cameramen, choreographer, runners, director, the puppeteers and its maker, some actors and extras and their families and more. I also met some of Paul's team including his manager and his personal, some have been with Paul since his early days. Paul was gracious and came across as a very considerate person in the little ways. He asked if I would help an older person down off a wee stage. I knew the guy was younger than Paul and I felt a little embarrassed to ask him if he needed a hand we all had a laugh about it including Paul, There was a birthday and Paul encouraged everyone to join in singing happy birthday, I'm sure she'll never forget the time Paul MaCarney sang her happy birthday. Paul also signed the guitar that the robot is playing in the vid which is to be sold to raise money for the Khmer Magic Music Bus project in Cambodia. Mary Paul's daughter was there photographing Paul at work, she is truly delightful. The vibe on set was really focused positive and happy. It was a real insight to see how much hard work goes into producing a relatively short film Anyway thank you one and all for the opportunity of sharing a little bit of life together, all together an amazing experience. Ooooops nearly forgot I'll always 'Appreciate' involvement in this vid/film its extra special to me. Thanks S L&P All Nik
PogieJoe I just remembered something else. The jacket he is wearing was an original jacket from the beatles days he showed me John Lennon's name tag sewn on the inside pocket because a mistake had been made with the labels. I was amazed, how many people could get into the same clothing from around 50 years ago !
Nik.....thanks for giving us a little insight into this video. I've been so curious how the puppeteers were able to operate "Newman". Paul looks great and nimble in this shoot. I don't care what the subject matter is as long as he's a part of it. The song really sticks in your head quickly. I love that it's modern as well....shows he's kept up with the times and still creating new ideas. Anything associated with him is going to be quality, whether anyone likes it or not. I liked your story about the jacket too. I read somewhere that his concert attire (mainly black pants) are Levis.....and are the same size and style he's been wearing for quite a long time for tours. He's amazing...always.
Mccartney's best at play here : his capacity to reinvent himself, while producing songs which are deeply meaningfull. I'm glad he chose to make a video for this specific song in the album. This shows that it was important to him, despite its mitigate reception!
Just because he isn't singing 'Yesterday' doesn't mean his new work is crap. Besides, the song is not even bad, it's actually better than most pop nonsense we have nowadays. Let's give Paul some APPRECIATION for giving us music, unlike other musicians who retire after they're 50!
I absolutely am addicted to this video and lyrics and music. Thank you Paul. This young g-ma never gets tired of you reinventing yourself while staying the same. This is mind blowing. I wasn't too sure about "Newman" when I first saw him, but every part of this video is a joy. I never stop being amazed. What a trip we are on here together, you and your fans spinning through space at the same time in history.
Sir Paul is one of the BEST songwriters / performers of ALL TIME. His music is ageless, and his sound continues to evolve magically. I've seen him perform 8 or 9 times ( once, front rail at Coachella,) and he pushes himself to a 3 Hr. concert experience that rivals the youngest performers...BRAVO, BRAVO Paul!!!
Paul McCartney is the smartest music man in the business...and has always been...with his partners the Beatles...Love you Paul...Love your creativity ....from day one...
Paul is just a Master at what he does. "Appreciate" him now before it's too late. He is 71 after al (not that 71 is all that old anymore)l. If you have the chance to see him live it is worth every penny. I am fortunate to have seen him numerous times. Not many people or bands from 50 years ago can say they are still relevant today. Amazes me the shear number of great songs that he has put out (along with John, George and Ringo). Right up there with Beethoven, Bach and who ever else. Pure musical genius.
Are you serious?! Paul McCartney! The Beatles.. Then he puts out this incredibly awesome news song that is so current wow no one has been this relevant for so many decades! My new fave.. Love it!!!
Why have I not seen this before? Appreciate is one of my favourite tunes on NEW. I love how Paul just does what he likes, not caring one bit about looking a bit silly or uncool, which automatically makes him very cool indeed. I hope there'll be another album soon. I saw him in concert this June, and a new album would likely mean a new tour, which would be great news.
65boogerbutt I know, I've been Out There with Paul in Amsterdam last year. But still, a new album usually means a new tour. Of course, he's starting the new One On One tour today, and that's without any new material. But I'd still love to see a new album :-)
I Love this magical combo music video! I have less then 6 mo. to live from cancer & my son told me Friday, he wanted a year off from me. Little does he know how much I Appreciate him calling, or texting me. Little does he know how much I have given him so he will succeed his future goals in life. This song touches my heart & soul. Thank You, Sir Paul~
I grew up with Beatles' music and my children too grew up with your music. Young boy was the lyric my son Andrea listened while he still was "in" me!!!! Great Paul!!!! My dream is still to meet you. Enjoy your music!!!
Genius! I hope my kids appreciate me taking them to his shows this summer. They have seen Paul every year since they were born. It's a tradition now! He just gets better every year!
Let's give it to Paul. This song is not bad at all. There's people ranting about the song being too 'modern' and out of Paul's characteristic style. If he continued to give us songs with his old style people would say that he'd need to innovate and create new stuff. He's made so much music that I think it's quite acceptable that he tries something new and gets such a decent song as a result.
I totally agree! I remember when he was performing New live on Jools Holland people moaned saying 'What's the point in this album? It just sounds like The Beatles!' Which a stupid complaint as McCartney has the most right out of anyone now to have songs that sound like The Beatles!
This song is Paul and it is awesome. Some listeners don't understand that Paul has been recording this type of material since the early recordings of summer 1979 for McCartney 2 or Wings "Arrow Through Me" or "Goodnight Tonight. It isn't new for him, this is just another example of genius Paul. Have you heard this with headphones?
GREAT ENJOYED great album , my fave is I CAN BET think Paul should be playing this on tour !!! would make a great single , believe in love Trevor sizzle
A great futuristic rock song, Paul McCartney always keeps making new rock music, great guitar solos love hearing Paul McCartney writing more songs he always keep you guessing what's next I hope you keep playing an performing. I love you Paul McCartney 😎🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🌹🌹❤️❤️👑🏋️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🎸🌹
My favorite song on your "NEW" Album Paul Get well soon this world needs you ....peace and love ......I will always "appreciate" every thing you have done and created...
He's slower, weaker. Such is life. Having cranked out more hits than almost any other human being on the planet, I can allow him some duds along the way. I like the tune, 'Appreciate' the most of the recent album offerings. I'd like sir Paul to do a guitar album; no singing.
Buen video, buena canción!!! Un grande #PaulMcCartney !!! Como se extrañan los temas como "Another day", "My love", "No more lonely nights" Sin dudas son épocas que no volverán... Todo pasa, todo cambia.
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! You know you're still pushing yourself as an artist when you've polarized people a bit. I've been on a huge McCartney binge lately, and this ranks up there with the best. Definitely the coolest 74 year old on the planet. I want to hear THIS on the radio instead of Ke$ha ad infinitum...
I was born 1954, heard first Paul song at around the age of 9, been listening to him ever since,Thank you for all that Paul, New is great, what I would like now is an album with Paul McCartney and Neil Young songs written together....Please.
I appreciate Paul coming to Jacksonville, FL! Yaaay! He hasn't done a concert here since The Beatles in 1964 so I'm told. Looking forward to seeing Sir Paul in concert for the 4th time.
My God this man is a fantastic songwriter. I was five or six years old when I first heard the Beattles in 1962 and God Bless you Paul McCartney! This song really makes you think about life and everything. Thank you Sir Paul McCarteny! Incredible!
Nerdmente.....what do you think? I really like a lot of the songs. I hope when his tour is over that he makes some promo videos with him actually in them. The album cover is great....but I hope to see him playing and singing.
I thought Paul’s seeds have all dried up. I haven’t heard him produce anything like this in decades. Love the entire package of this song. When I heard the slide part, that was the icing on the cake. Fantastic original new creative real. I didn’t think he had anything left and now I’m blown away. I will get this album.
I appreciate that Paul is still sharing his awesome music with us! I hope to see you, Paul at Candlestick in August. I was at the last Beatles concert in '66. I promise not to scream this time!!
I am 11 years old and I went to your show at Fortaleza, in Castelão. Was the best show of all my life, and I´m sure: In all the rest of my life, I-ll never go to a show like yours!
WTF?? This tune only has 867,000 his in 2 years??? This is Paul freaking McCartney, the greatest composer of the last 2 centuries! What an insult! It should have at least 8 million!
+legasiguy i feel you bro. im a big, very big fan of Paul and the beatles, but let's accept the fact that paul isnt at his prime any more, he already has made history. tons of history
Joseph Ronald Celis No, it's not 1968, yeah I agree with that but the album that this is on did very well so there's still a big market for him and The Beatles for they've been passed to another generation.
Paul, I think this is great. You are still an amazing Singer and songwriter, you are as amazing as you have always been. Your whole NEW album is amazing, and so is this video, it's very interesting and it really fits the song. You will always be my idol, you will never loose it. I know some people say that you are not as good as you were before, but I think you are. You are great Paul, don't forget that. Keep do what you're doing, but don't forget to be careful with your health because health is the most important thing! You won't let us fans down because you cannot always perform, we will love you no matter what, and we always wish you the best. I'm so very glad you feel better now. Lots of love to you Sir, you are wonderful.
And his band played a song transmitted live to the entire world :) - All You Need Is Love
Great comment!!
This is what art is intended to do. Open peoples' eyes. Great song, great message, great video! This video should have won best video of the year.
I never heard or saw this I am blown away

who are you and what did you do? how did you make it to be a part of it?
I would do anything to have been in your place! Kudos to you a thousand-fold!

It's beautiful. He still sounds like an angel years later. New is an excellent album.
Agree.

Totally agree.
Paul is a Mastermind.
Paul McCartney is the smartest music man in the business...and has always been...with his partners the Beatles...Love you Paul...Love your creativity ....from day one...

YES, MAN! Sir Paul is always reinventing himself; He's vintage and ultramodern as well. Long Live PAUL! BEATLES 4 EVER!
That guitar lead at the end was incredible .... The sounds is so godlike.
Thank you Paul. I appreciate it.
I just saw Sir Paul last night. One of the highlights of my life.
This song has been in my head ALL DAY

What's with all the negative comments? Even from McCartney fans? I thought this is one of the best songs on the album. Love it! !
you must understand that people give opinions on things they know nothing about ALL the time. Great song.
Agree best song from album, if that’s possible. “New” is so brilliant.
The greatest musician of all time!!! Long may you reign supreme.
Not at all your typical Paul song, very different and I loved it !!!
i appreciate paul's beauty.
Remembers me of the BEST of the Beatles ... Thank You Maestro Paul
I grew up with Beatles' music and my children too grew up with your music. Young boy was the lyric my son Andrea listened while he still was "in" me!!!! Great Paul!!!! My dream is still to meet you. Enjoy your music!!!
The entire album is AWESOME!!!
Sir Paul McCartney is awesome!
I heard Paul on youtube say he's been with his current band for longer than he's been with any other musicians, including the other three Beatles.

I totally agree! I remember when he was performing New live on Jools Holland people moaned saying 'What's the point in this album? It just sounds like The Beatles!' Which a stupid complaint as McCartney has the most right out of anyone now to have songs that sound like The Beatles!
+Metzengerstein songs are songs, paul could have given it a 70s sound if he wanted, but he decided to give it a modern one.
We certainly APPRECIATE Paul's huge contribution to Rock 'N Roll.

I don't know what people are talking about. I was a bit surprised but it still sounds very PAUL to me
I thought Paul’s seeds have all dried up. I haven’t heard him produce anything like this in decades. Love the entire package of this song. When I heard the slide part, that was the icing on the cake.
