@@HOLYdEYEver I think this video was intended as a basic starting point, & I think it did that well. However, you are right that there is a huge amount to learn. It can be really difficult when starting out in fly fishing or fly tying. It’s like trying to eat an elephant. It can be done but only in small bites. It might help to ask yourself what are you most interested in learning about. Do your goals relate more to fly fishing or to fly tying or both at once? Use that as a starting point to search for video & book sources on a specific topic like the mayfly or the caddis, then the flies that imitate them. Best of luck.

So few videos actually educate people on the scientific facts. Everyone wants to make videos about technique and personal opinions surrounding the sport in order to get praise and agreement to boost their ego but nobody wants to make truly educational videos like this which is what I am looking for as a beginner; not the best technique for casting or which flies I should use to catch bass in Michigan in July, lol.
