Skoda's are great cars. Good for family , traveling and for crazy stuff
we have a 1999 1.9 TDI. Drives almlst 150km everyday since 2003, and works perfect
1.9 tdi is an indestructible engine

Who cares? Honestly. Skoda was great back in the day as well as today. Mk1 octavias are the best car you can get for 1k quid, 1500 if looking at the vrs. Amazing car with amazing reliability. People hate it because it is fwd yet beats some cars into the ground in its class.

I don't understand the hate for Škoda. I might be a little patriotic, but I really think that škoda makes some really good cars. The new ones are great, they might be a bit on the expensive side (at least here). And the older ones are great too. They are really reliable, cheap to buy and maintain and they pack a great punch under the hood. Yes, the older cars might be a bit similar to the older VW models, but that is due to Škoda being in a VW group and VW wanted to sell VW cars but not under a German name (lots of Czechs hate Germans) so they used their chassis and technology, changed it a bit and sold it as Škoda. But it was still made here in the Czech Republic which has a great engineering history (did you know that the Eye of London was made by škoda? And that škoda also makes a lot of trains, trams and ship parts.) And what's better, unlike VW, Škoda doesn't have rigged Emission tests ;)

@@Alecsx1 I mean it's a fantastic car, and I love it. I have just had a few reliability issues with it. But most of them were because the previous owner didnt look after it properly. It's been behaving itself lately though 😁

@@Alecsx1 I would definitely recommend getting one. They're a lot of fun, and really practical. As long as you get one that's been cared for, you won't have many problems at all.
Same here buddy I love mine had it nearly 3 years and would never sell it unless it was for a slightly newer model

sleeper cars ! most people think its a slow 90hp tdi. I myself drive a remapped AHF tdi. Drivers of new bmw and audis always get mad when i pull away from them

What does 20vt mean
Refering to the number of valves. It's a 4 cylinder car with 5 valves per cylinder therefore 5 valves X 4cylinders=20Valves.
20 valves 5 per cylinder 3 for intake 2 for exhaust and T is turbo

Octavia it's just a mk4golf, Audi a3 and Leon in different chassis... only bigger and more budget oriented

1999 stock octavia 1.8 20v turbo 0-100 6sec
No matter how I look, 6 sec from a 99 car with a 1.8T engine is everything but slow. Also it is one of the most reliable units you can ever get
