    Roman, I know this is your channel, but huge props to Captain Scotty. IMHO Most captains are not as social and conversational as him. They all know how to fish, but most are low on people skills. We'll consider him next time we 6 pack.

      Please do. He is a super dude. Very humble and super real. I'm going to talk him into making more vids but getting him on my channel will serve as a good boost. So I really appreciate this comment. Thanks and im looking forward to see what you guys catch!

    I just learned a lot about this technique from your video. I like your attitude about sharing info and techniques. There are so many old guys with boats they will never use again and thousands of lures that their kids will just throw away because they did not create an interest in our sport. There is a culture of selfishness here in Oregon, too many Fudds.

    • @RomanCastroVlog
      @RomanCastroVlog  Год назад

      Yes, you totally get it Steven. We keep it positive and encourage newcomers to the sport. In the end, it benefits us all to have competent informed anglers join the ranks of the CCA and fight for ocean access. Thanks for the thoughtful comment.

    The MOST distance on a cast would be with a spinning reel or a sidecast reel.

    • @RomanCastroVlog
      @RomanCastroVlog  3 года назад +1

      Yes, but we want the direct line to spool so we don't run spinning reels. There is always a + and - to fishing setups. In this case we prefer the direct torque applied to the spool and line over the longer cast when it means having to reel it in with all the extra angles on the spinning reel. Also, the way the line is spun around the spool of a spinning reel affects the way the iron swims.

    15:08 Daiwa SK jig is good for tuna or yellowtail? thanks

      Yes, its a great jig for when they are deep. Match the grams with the depth. Fish 100gram jigs when targeting 100' depths and so on.

    Opinion? Saltiga 30HA latest model too small for surface iron setup?

      I was really into learning to fish a jig, but bait always gets bit, especially on a day were the fish count is less than 20. As far as bait goes always butt or shoulder hook it, unless your fishing on the slide.
