    Rangastalam>>Pushpa is a popular opinion in AP and TG . Infact Phuspa got mixed reviews in two states. Rangasthalam is best work of sukumar till date , He got great calibre but he comprises his content by following 5 songs and item song format . He will be more appreciated if he remove those Masala elements . Yeah he need to write good characters for women .

    • @TriedRefusedProductions
      @TriedRefusedProductions  Год назад +152

      Yes, I think Pushpa has more of a phenomenon in the north belt than in the states of the original language. The poor parts of Rangasthalam as you rightly said was the unnecessary item song but the screenplay was so superior to Pushpa

      Similar subject matter- gets handled in a different way by say- Vetrimaran or Mari Selvaraj or Pa Ranjit in Tamil. And it works for Tamil audience.. Reason is- they don't compromise on the subject matter they are dealing with- coz they know- that's everything for their movie.. Rangasthalam, when compared to Pushpa feels superior because- the issue/ subject matter and the character arc of the "hero" gets more prominance .. I liked Rangasthalam a lot more than Pushpa.. why even the female lead in Rangasthalam is handled in a MUCH better fashion than the one in Pushpa for sure.. I really hope, the commercial success of Pushpa doesnt take away the director's focus on core story in future projects..

    • @KumarB819
      @KumarB819 Год назад +4

      @@matangimawley That's why I said the line "He will be more appreciated if he don't cater his story with Masala elements" by the means of names u mentioned , Sukumar got that calibre . That heroine scenes is very very small reason in why Rangastalam is a lot better than pushpa , U need to experience the film to know the reason and anmol said it with few words in the above video .
      It will still work for Telugu audience if he don't follow those 5 songs and item song format as well.
      Sukumar can do a stylish and complex Nenokadine and a earthy film like Rangastalam both are amazing films ( the only minus is the commercial elements , If not for those he will be on the lines of most admired directors)

      I think Jigelu rani song fits the Rangasthalam 1980's Village backdrop very well. What I felt was really out of place in Suku's best movie was "London Babu" song in 1: Nenokkadine - I mean it completely compromised the Tone of the film. I think Item song Phenomena is also used in TV shows - there’s usually more Nudity in season 1 to attract viewers and then it Dips slowly.

    "Hera Pheri" franchise might face the same situation as "Race" and "Dabangg" franchises, where the third part looked so alien & bizarre that it made audiences regret waiting for them in the first place. The difference here being indian audiences actually feel a sense of connect & ownership over this franchise. I just hope the makers can see the ground reactions to the director rumors and get someone worthy enough.

The big fear I have is if they are going with some double-meaning comedy writer, people might reject it outrightly, instead they should get writers that prefers organic comedy writing that connects with every class of audience like the writers of the Panchayat or Gullak shows.

    I agree with you completely on what you said about Sonakshi. But come on, you talk about Sonakshi's acting capability and don't mention AKIRA, it's a crime. AKIRA for me has to be one of the best women centric films made in Bollywood in the last 15-20 years and Sonakshi just gave an incredible performance.
    I'd love to hear your opinion on the movie some day, bcoz I feel in an industry where women are mostly objectified in item songs, it's our duty as cinema lovers to celebrate a movie which actually portrayed a lady in the lead as such a strong character doing neck to neck action with villains without any masculine help.

    Chemistry and confidence are the two tentpoles of Andhadhun; the confidence Tabu brings to the role after her stellar journey in the industry as well as the amazing chemistry the entire principal cast have with each other (even Apte and Tabu) and in the material that really makes it work. Tabu is not afraid at all to be vile or pathetic or even laughed at. She's not judging Simi at all, and by doing that, she makes her real. She plays Simi as if Simi is the protagonist of the story, which would be true from her point of view, and that makes the character three-dimensional instead of a classic vamp caricature. You almost root for her to get away with it. Same goes for Ayushman, and the boy-next-door, happy-go-lucky charm he brings to a role that's essentially of a con-man/opportunist. A lesser actor could have made the role creepy and extremely unlikeable.

      Pushpa is unlike anything the Hindi audience ever witnessed.... There is a charm in Sukumar whether he makes the lead actor witty and intelligent, or dumb and earnest.... Here AA was resourceful and ambitious....
      Which scene in Pushpa was predictable? The last 15 mins he showed tension between AA and FaFa just by an ego clash without even spilling a single drop of blood? Or the whole story which is narrated by AA's assistant who looks up to him?
      Pushpa is a masterpiece in its own right with even international cricketers imitating the famous taggede leee mannerism.... I don't understand few people from Telugu who think Pushpa bombed 🤣🤣
      It was because of pandemic (50% occupancy) and reduced ticket price by AP Govt....
      Or maybe after Rangasthalam and AVPL people expected a good Samaritan role of hero where he adopts whole villages and gives them free food 😂 Telugu people like such large hearted heroes.... They must have been shocked looking at Pushpa - a selfish guy who has grey shades....

I think with better films she could really become a respected superstar. Sadly, she's spoken before about being disappointed in the reception of those more original films, basically feeling rejected if she ventured outside the commercial line. Kept the Imran one for the last xD
    I agree with the opinion though. Imran Khan did sweet films that take us back to our childhood, however his skills as an actor were questionable a lot of times.
    I believe that the "Laut aao Imran" memes are for everyone to miss the "time" that they were in when the movies came out and the memories that they made while watching them instead of wanting him back as an actor.

    The Night Manager released at the same time with Farzi. I think that's why people started comparing these two which worked against it. But one thing which I personally don't like is the indifference in detailing specially Bangladesh factors such as Bangladeshi police officer talking in hindi, the eve teaser at the cinema hall teasing in hindi etc. Other than that Aditya Roy Kapoor and Anil Kapoor were treat for the eyes as if the characters are written for them.

Many things were contradictory to itself the major one being Kattapa.
    Having said that Bahubali 2 was a decent enough film. Without any buzz and just a pure franchise film I might have actually loved it. But when you see this immense curiosity and hype for your film I believe it is your duty to produce an equally satisfying film which the producers failed at.

Sometimes I feel that not extending the franchine too much and leaving it on a high note the masterpiece category is good rather than creating literally anything just for the sake of money/fans/pressure. And it is mostly same case for any bollywood movie franchise be it like Golmaal or Housefull or Race. Same case we can see with KGF 3, KGF 2 ended on a good note the story is fulfilled the mission is fulfilled. And I dont want that the next part to just become an AVERAGE movie.
