I never get tired of coming in here every now and then and hearing you play this song! You inspired me! If you allow me, I will record a similar video in your honor
Just come home from seeing and hearing you play at Kiama Jazz Festival - my first experience of the Aerophone. Wow! You played superbly on this amazing instrument. Your normal saxophone and flute playing was damn fine too!
This was an excellent show of the instrument and great playing. I think an alto sax would have a fuller, more body, sound. But this is a great instrument for practicing late at night and for composing with all the sounds. I did hear a Roland top of the line one and it blew me away, but don't think this is it. Good video, thanks for the show. ciao
Hi, thanks for your comment. I don’t make much alterations to the Alto Sax preset sounds. I think I used the Alto Vib sound and added reverb and EQ-on. It’s all in the breath and I think I also used the built-in vibrato. It’s been a long time ago that I played on this video. Using breath control for dynamics is important. Anyway, I’m glad you like it. Best regards, Andrew
As a Sax player myself, I don’t use the Aerophone Sax at all but since there were numerous requests to hear the Sax sound on the AE10 playing a classic Sax song, here it is....
Apolo Rafael Sandonato , there a couple of Alto Sax in preset mode. Find the one you like best, then save it a User Patch. From there you can adjust the tone, reverb, breath etc. You can also plug the AE10 into the Aerophone app on your phone. But first download the App to your phone. Using the Sax sound in Preset mode does not give you the options of changing the sound. Please check out other tutorials on RUclips for more information. Look at Alistair Parnell’s video on Aerophone. If you need a Skype lesson, let me know but I do have a small charge for lessons. Thanks, Andrew
@@AndrewOh Hello do you have some video we're I can found. How to configure my aerophone from the beginning? Cause when I blow it have to much reverb appears effects that I don't want, could you help me? That's my problem I want the better sound but nobody explain the process from initial configuration
@@0thenewone0yt40 that will take a lot of time and not able to explain to you in a short time. Please look for instructions by Alistair Parnell on RUclips where he explains different Aerophones and how to configure them from the beginning. Please look for that video. I don’t have any instruction videos for what you need. Thanks
Edward, some of the websites for backing tracks are: bobbysbacking tracks, Smoothjazz backing tracks, custom karaoke, coffee shop backing tracks. They are a few dollars per track, depending on what you’re looking. Al the best, Andrew
pmwizard48 Hi, I got it from a site called Custom Karaoke. You can mix the track to your needs, for example, I had this track mixed without the Sax..check it out...
Rorry, thanks for your comments. If you're referring to this particular song, I didn't use any sheet music as I learnt it by ear. However, you can buy the sheet music on line. Also the Aerophone has more than 5 registers but you need to adjust it in the Menu. You would need at least 2 octaves in order to play those high notes. Cheers, Andrew
Thank you for your quick response. I will call Roland to see how to get 2 octaves on this instrument. The instruction book does not describe this. Thanks again!
Rorry, on your AE10, push the Menu button, scroll with the right arrow button to OCT KEY, push the Menu button again, then right arrow button again till it says 2. Then push the Menu button for 5 specs to save the changes. Let me know if you got lucky...
Andrew - great job. Can you please tell me your source for background tracks to play to? Do you purchase karaoke tracks? They sound great also. Thanks.
Mick, they're several sites, CustomKaraoke allows you to tailor the tracks, like instruments, keys etc, Bobbysbackingtracks gives you good songs with special well played arrangements, Smoothjazzbackingtracks more Jazzy, funky tunes, Coffeebreakgrooves.com gives you tracks that grooves in different styles like funk, jazz, blues etc. Just google these sites and you'll find them... Cheers
Samson, I didn't really make much changes to the Alto Sax sound apart from adding some more reverb, EQ, delay. When playing any sounds, you must have dynamics in your phrasing to make it come alive. So loudness and softness within the phrasing will make the sound more realistic. As I play the real saxophones, I dont use the Aerophone sax sounds much but I made the video of Alto Sax by many requests of other uses. Practice and experiment as much as you can and im sure you'll be able to sound good too. All the best, Andrew
Adam Hargreaves- yes I can do a soprano demo for you. But I don’t use the Saxophone sounds when I play live, mainly because I play the real saxes. I’ll do a short demo of soprano when time allows. Thanks

Hi, very cool!
Would it be possible for you to tell me what was the aerophone configuration (regulation) for this song?

Just curious is that Musiscore your using?
Jeremy, no its just a backing track I purchased...
Andrew Oh !
I’ve just bought one of those but when I set it up for alto sax it doesn’t sounds like yours at all! Could you teach me how to set up?

Great job, but I really don't see how it sounds any better than my old Yamaha, especially down low. But thanks.
Good playing, but there's too much reverb. I hope that's not embedded in the sound.
Nikosi9 All FX including reverb is controllable. It doesn’t sound that great Dry...
Mr. Andrew plays very good. Excelent musician!... but this instrument sounds artificial, without klang variation and less armonics.
Kim Jong Il plays music.
That's a very unrespectful isn't it...
