Aaron I've been watching your videos on perfume reviews for a little while and I honest have to say that you are fantastic reviewer. The way you transport yourself on feeling every note of each scent is so magical and overwhelming. Thanks to You my collection is growing more and more; so thank you very much. You are a true gentleman.
@@AaronTerenceHughes I didn't realise that you have your own fragrance line. I will for sure purchased some. I can know for sure that they will be splendid. 😊
A very good, fair, balanced review. Love the paraphrased "I'm not going to tell you if this has oud in it... it doesn't" lol - dead on, and 100%. Nonetheless, probably the best frag from the house, IMO.Top 5 at least.
Best tobacco note in the game! One of my all time favorites. You should give TF’s Oud Fleur a try. It’s he’s Oud/Rose offering. I also love it too! It was my first TF purchase.
The intense version of Tobacco Oud does smell like a deeper, extended version of this (unlike oud wood intense which is nothing at all like oud wood despite the name)
Aaron, you’re spot on as always. I just purchased Tobacco Oud in the 100ml size. Perhaps this is a new formulation? Freshly sprayed, it’s amazing. 15 minutes later, it’s dying out. Oud Wood was similar for me and I’m fair skinned. I’m going to purchase the ATH Carbon to try to amp these two up a bit…. Awesome scent though.
Do the YSL Y EDP when you get the chance! I personally like it a lot more that the rest of the boring blue fragrances due to the apple and sage. Nice crisp and sweetness
One of my favorites from the Private Blend line behind Plum Japonais and Noir de Noir. Much better than Tobacco Vanille in my personal opinion. I know this one got discontinued but I heard it was being re-released into the Signature line. I found this one to be very similar to Laudano Nero by Tiziana Terenzi as well as Amber Absolute.
I think Aaron is an alien 👽 with the moving hands and fingers as he speaks in his intros 😂. "Greetings and salutations humans, don't fear my probing hands, I'm fantastic and doing well".
Yo bro you did a nice review on this this is my favorite perfume of all time it is my thing to say it is my old faithful it is the best perfume have ever smelled in my entire life I like the way you broke it down but you are right it is not all natural but he did an amazing job perfectly perfecting this. There is nothing else like this and never will be💥💥💥💥💥. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I got asked to leave a tram in Melbourne after just one spray of this. The family that complained were middle eastern. I do understand that taste is subjective but we live in a society.
Hi Aaron, Again a good review. You distinguish yourself by the way you take me into the fragrance. The ingredients, structure and development of the fragrance. Very nice to know. I am also very curious about your perfumes. The costs to send them to the Netherlands are on the high side ;-). But be sure to try it in the future. Greetings Michael
Talk about coincidence! Like the "elusive perfect malt whisky" I am on my journey to find the perfect "elusive oud fragrance". I have tried many samples, most of which have disappointed. I have a 2ml sample of TF Tobacco Oud and I must say it has been the closest so far to my "ideal" of an oud fragrance. I love it. I was about to commit to buying a bottle until I came across your recent video on your campaign to have oud concentrations labelled. ( Love the gas chromatograms - as a fellow chemist, this pushes all my buttons!). I have just half an hour ago placed an order with you for a 10ml sample of Tabac , and no sooner had I done it when this video review pops up! Can't wait to get my nose on Tabac, hopefully if it performs longer that tobacco oud, I'll go for the 50ml. Keep up the amazing work Aaron, you are the breath of fresh air that the fragrance community needs!
Would love to see a review of Tom Ford Beau de Jour from you. I have 70+ bottles in my collection but TF BdJ is my most favorite at the moment. Maybe I am getting old 😄
Wow... I finally got my bottle of tobacco oud, I like it, but to be honest though, this smells like Chinese/Korean herbal eastern medicine store... For those who love these kind of scents, they should visit one of those traditional herbal eastern medicine store and sample those dried up herbs... I think Aaron would love it!
I personally love the drydown. I was out with friends and one of them was looking around to see who was smoking pipe tobacco until he realised it was my fragrance. And that was 3 hours after I sprayed it. And that's what I get on the drydown too. A rich pipe tobacco note with vanilla. Love it.
One of my favorite fragrances! Really like the mix of tobacco, wood and whiskey notes. Would be interesting to see what you think about the Tobacco Oud Intense version. (I must admit that I made my own Intense version by first spraying Animalix followed by Tobacco Oud, a very interesting combination but not for the faint of heart :-) )
In the perfume-description of your new fragrance (homme) I noticed a spelling mistake : "you(r) leave an impression when w(e)aring Homme" Anyway another great video Kind regards from Germany
Great Review! Hey Aaron, I was curious to find out if Ambroxan or Iso E Super would work in a Candle? (having a hard time finding a straight answer for it) Thanks!
Hey Aaron i’d like to hear your thoughts on Ajmal’s Amber wood and Amber wood noir. I believe they are right up your alley of perfumes genre that you review.. interesting video suggestion
Cool ass shirt man I've never had the chance to smell real oud. I hear people say it's nice. Tom Ford is my favorite American fragrance house. I know the juice is blended overseas but atleast he is American. We seem to be centuries behind the other countries in that regard.
I got a sample of this and the top note was dominated by an uncanny valley cinnamon note that I really didn't like. After about half an hour it was much more tame... nice but a bit too safe.
What do you mean by lighter and darker skin? Are you referring to skin tone or is it metaphorical? Also I would love to hear your thoughts on Oud Paloa by Diptyque and Aqcua Di Parma Oud! Thanks in advance
@Aus Tronaut thank you. I've heard him mention this in several reviews and was curious. Does he believe certain fragrances actually react differently depending on skin tone or that people with different skin colour will "pull off" certain fragrances better than others?
@Aus Tronaut sorry for the noob questions but is there a like a general rule of thumb as to how different types of fragrances react to different skin tones? Or could you point me in the right direction?
I’m talking about different skin types. My genetics are Middle East so my skin is medium to dark. So my skin is dense and absorbs fragrance. Fair skin is Nordic or skin that burns in the sun. This skin type is suitable for lighter/citrus fragrance
@@AaronTerenceHughes Thank you for your response! What would you recommend to someone in like myself who is of Pakistani descent? My skin is darker than yours but not very dark. I tend to gravitate towards darker/heavier smells that get noticed and last. I do enjoy powerful citrus smells such as Acqua Di Parma Colonia but find they don't last on me. Is this due to the nature of the fragrance in general or how they work with my skin?
I think that magic you’re looking for is amber absolute. It’s the better version of tobacco oud in my opinion, a lot of people even consider tobacco oud an inferior reworking of amber absolute. If someone has it please send it to him! Tobacco oud intense is also absolutely incredible. All three are discontinued now though :(
Its fantastic. I got mine a week ago. I find myself enjoying the musk peeking through my familiar scents. They are made new to my nose and truly more enjoyable.
I think it’s only discontinued in some areas - possibly the US. Here in the UK you can still get it easily online. Worth snapping up for sure if you like it as who knows how long it’ll stay around for.
I'm surprised that you haven't reviewed a montale given the number of oud fragrances they have. Would be excited to hear what you think of Black Aoud for instance!
Tom Ford Tobacco Oud as reviewed by my wife. I get ready for date night and use the TF-TO for the first time. I am just so excited. My wife takes one whiff and tells me that I smell like a wet ashtray! Back to the shower for me. Yeah, it was that bad!
