Just invest in any Nifty index fund and hold on to it. It is so easy to be true. That's why most of the people can't do it. They think there must be some catch.
Good video Sir. After many years of active fund investing, switched to index investing few years back. 70% of my equity is in index. Plan to increase it to 85%
Main reason for index investing is , as you mentioned , top fund selection is difficult. With index don't have to bother whether my fund is under performing
Thank you sir for these points..i would say these are very good metrics I would say, to tell yourself whether you can be index investor or not. I started my investing journey with nifty blend few months only after seeing your posts and every time I see some posts on aifw about these questions I get some doubt but then I tell myself if I can't stick to the selected funds in my first investment then I surely can never stay in any funds and also yes I am not smart or patient enough in choosing active funds.. So I have chosen to stick with index investment till the near future (and also for other reasons which you pointed out :) ).
Nice video. I am very much happy with my strategy of investing towards my goal with nifty blend and aggressive hybrid. Goal is devised based on the learning from you Financial goal videos. Due to this i am getting gud sleep even during this market fall. No worries stick to ur plan., AA, and rebalance. Avoid noise. All these are learnt from you. Thank you vey much.
Sir, I read your review on BSE low volatility index fund and really liked the risk adjusted return part. As moderate risk investor, can I invest 75% in nifty index and 25% in low volatility index? Any down side?
Investing in Nifty50 index fund from 4 years almost. Must confess that was invested in PPFCF and One mid cap fund as well. Got rid of them last week. Have seen people and myself too becoming restless to see if funds are performing well or not. Can you imagine that there are videos to analyze low returns in PPFCF. Just don't want that frenzy anymore.
How does tracking error or the underlying nav of an ETF matter for us, as it's only the price at which we buy or sell that matters -right? Can you throw some light on this ? Also where can we get this information on tracking error and nav for an ETF/index fund?
Pattu sir, please make a video or review for my strategy below I narrated. Goal: Get 15% return or more from index nifty 50 fund direct plan. AMC: choose anyone which gives Option to invest in lumpsum thru direct from their website netbanking. Monthly: 5000 or more as per your capacity, but no SIP. Strategy: purchase lumpsum whenever the market down by two or three consecutive days, but once in a month (contra SIP idea) no fixed date . But need to buy before 3 pm so u will get same day NAV value. So it is like buying on DIP like stock . In long run, we will get more Units because we are buying on dip of index. But in SIP or one time lumpsum u cannot predict when the sip execute market maybe in high value. Sir, is this strategy will work. Especially we are now in coronovirus crisis time. I am doing last three months, my return is better. My index fund fall 6% since January compare to index fall 10% + I think
a case for trading in index funds : TER is low @ 0.1% and exit load is nil in case of a nifty index fund (direct). It is suitable for those who take position based on EOD (end of day) data . I find ETFs to be more volatile than underlying which is evident from daily candles of index ETFs. To avoid hassles of limit order , taking fund route seems attractive even sometimes for short term such as markets in last 10 months
@@saurabh.kulkarni336 : not done trading ,Sir ! In March 2021 only started nifty index fund purchase whenever index is below 20 MA/50 MA @ 2/3 % of annual allocation. Please buy @ below 50 MA , if interested in tactical index fund buying
@@narasimmamurthyr2534 Isn't ETF better to get a lower purchase price? Many times when market is down, it picks up after 3PM and you would get higher price because by then you would have already put buy order for the index fund. Your thoughts?
@@melwyndsouza8769 On 26 March Nifty ETF high/low was 183.48/154.11 . The underlying - Nifty high/low was 14,562/14,420. The volatility in ETF price is much greater than volatility in underlying Nifty . It is easy to see this reflected in daily chart of NiftyBeES traded in NSE. So one cannot put market order and hope for ETF price to be representative of prevailing Nifty . This requires study and timing. Is it worth for a long term investor ?
I heard somewhere (and even have to check at nse site);that If there is no buyer for 7 days we can sell to that amc at the last traded price on that day ... If this true then low volumes should not matter for ETF selection- right?
In an NFO from ANY WELL ESTABLISHED MUTUAL FUND HOUSE, I observed that when it opens and after initial day or two of volatility the NAV settles at about 10.5 ie. you start with a gain of 5%.
Hello Pattu Sir, I'm hearing this word rebalancing the fund once a year. Not pretty sure what rebalance mean. Would be really greta to know. Thank you.
A point I forgot to mention: Attributes for index investing are also necessary for successful investing in general!
Sir , what do you mean by attributes of an index ???
Love the way Mr.Pattu said, "if you can't choose an index fund, then how can you ever be a good investor!" The authentic expression made me smile 😃
"My God... Pick a damn nifty index fund man!!...." Hahaha...

What impact does it create in my Index Fund returns if say 5 Stocks got kicked out from existing NIFTY and 5 new got added?

That depends on the ones that exited and entered
