I think this was one of his best live performances, especially because of how much importance he gave to the singing and how little mistakes he made, but even then, every other perfomance of his is still mindblowing.
im a 15 year old guy and i loove this! my favorite bbands are like guityar wolf, the strokes, sigur ros, melt banana... everyone in my school just listens to like lil wayne, Lady Gaga.. nickleback.. they have no idea what music can be! those band suck compared to ruins! theyt cant think outside the box.. this is soooooo good!!!
Thanx! I missed this show and there were so many great configurations of bands there. Nice camera work indeed. This club is a b*tch to film in when it's full.Your tab has been picked up at the pearly gates!
I've never heard Ruins in this programmed electronic backing track format. It sounds like he's going in and out of a ton of shit very quickly, some of these 'tunes' I can recognize. I do miss the sound of the thrashing bass, but regardless, this guy is a monster. I've seen him live a couple times, and he absolutely never lets up, always keeps it furious.
How the fuck is this the most popular Ruins vid on utube? I'm not saying it sucks, i'm just curious as to how this video has so many more views than the others. Seriously these guys are severely underappreciated
damn... he is a sick drummer. I like how a some times he is a little off beat (during the more free form parts_ and then when the band comes together they are incredibly tight.
I am curious if this is the same Yatsuya that I watched live in 1995 at the Nagoya City Melodias Punk? During that show, I purchased their tape labeled "Elsa Kraus - Melodias Punk-" Can not find any Google information on that title.
Certainly his music is tasted better if you are a Zeuhl fan. For profanous listeners (including who listened Magma already) it sounds a bit redoundant. But - as I have already said - he's great.
Damn, what a badass drummer. Singing leaves a bit to be desired, but I bet if I listened to it a bit more I'd start getting into it. Either way, this kicks ass.
What's the name of the song that starts at about 5:08? I read once that it's actually a Koenji song, but I don't know which one... In any case, it's awesome.
no offense to magma, but im not quite sure how you can bash this for not having intensity, and then praise magma on the same accord. Magma for most of their work seem sort of lethargic, only when they get overly operatic is there a real significant tension, or at least that's how i see it. Regardless, yoshida's work is almost always more chaotic and brash
I think it's wrong... technically it might be of some level I agree but musically it's poor. I can't hear any game on intensity : it's all load and load. Magma made Zeuhl music ok but they made music first of all, here, it's only pretending to me.
Ah come on ! don't hide my comment ! Why authorizing comments if it's only to show the good ones ? Of course I'm allowed to dislike this ! What a strange comment... :-/
0:01 Hyderomastgroningem (Hyderomastgroningem)

3:07 Kippsidamn (Pallaschtom)
5:10 Becttem Pollt (Nivraym)
This makes Mr. Bungle look like a top 40 ballad band by comparison. I love it.
Mike Patton has them on his label
I love how he interjects "thank you" as if he's done and then starts playing again as if to say "haha, I fooled ya!"
I think this was one of his best live performances, especially because of how much importance he gave to the singing and how little mistakes he made, but even then, every other perfomance of his is still mindblowing.
I've loved this for years. I remember 10+ years ago showing my friends this and they didn't get it, they do now. Fools.
It shows Yoshida's skills nicely and it has better sound than most Ruins videos around here.
RUclips needs more Ruins!
I want this man to be my father.

Arigato Yoshida!
Hey that's on my birthday! That's crazy that he can do shows alone like that. I've seen him use the samplers when he performed with Ishibashi Eiko.
So cool. Wish I could have been there in person to see it.
This guy is amazing, he can play the bass guitar with his drums!
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is beyond amazing!
I love ruins
Yoshida is GOD. He's soooooooooooooo underrated.
Tak, tak TATSUYA jest bardzo dobry w tym co robi:D..podoba mi się jego naturalny sposób gry na bębnach! IT'S GREAT!!!!
Only a god can make it look that easy
Awesome! Looking forward to seeing Yoshida-san play live this weekend
exelente banda
i can't believe it....fuckin'FANTASTIC!!!!!!!
Amazing drummer!
Ruins ♥
funniest thing is, after listening to it you start to memorize the songs. When I first heard that, it seemed impossible.
I was at the Vancouver show as well. Jesus Christ. There's not much you can say, really.
I assume this drumset sounding unbelievebly good! Damn. It's bad quality video, but maaaaaaan. Love this shit!
I actually shit my pants when I saw that.
I am shocked!!!
@floydtibbs Probably because it's in the "Related Videos" section in a really good Keiji Haino video.
Thanx! I missed this show and there were so many great configurations of bands there. Nice camera work indeed. This club is a b*tch to film in when it's full.Your tab has been picked up at the pearly gates!
what a great zeuhl band !!!

@Purifiedbyfire agreed!!!
I would love to see the BASS player ALONE. what kind of pedals does he use???
What's the name of the song that starts at about 5:08? I read once that it's actually a Koenji song, but I don't know which one...
In any case, it's awesome.
マスロックの古典
anyone know the name of the last song on this vid?
Anyone know the title of the first song?
Dude, this must be Charles Gocher's long lost illegitimate brother.
So awesome! 7 people clicked on the wrong button.
that's the first song. what about the others?
Fourth is an unreleased one.
He was in the Boredoms

there are quite many "songs" in this clip.
Yea! Ummm....Huh?
...Jesus, is this me or does Tatsuya Yoshida look like Rolf Harris nowadays?
You want your father to be a crazy japanese drummer? Cool.
Lightning bolt is pretty tame compared to this.
@yargum69
BECTTEM POLLT
LOL
Great, but a lit "heavy".
I think it's wrong... technically it might be of some level I agree but musically it's poor. I can't hear any game on intensity : it's all load and load. Magma made Zeuhl music ok but they made music first of all, here, it's only pretending to me.
I´m ruined
