For me 'peter' was when someone converses in English, whose audience is unbeknownst to the immediate listeners who are well versed in Tamil, who nonetheless recognize this intention of the speaker and say 'En macchy ippadi peter vedarai'. :)

There are 3 kinds of people in Chennai: 1.Peter. 2. People that judge people for being Peter. The first group comprises incredibly stupid people that had clever parents that put them in high end schools so no one understands a word they speak. The second group can again be split into 2 halves. The first (I have deep sympathies for):the ones that weren't fortunate enough and weren't sent(if at all) to great schools. The second, the ones that slept in English class. The rest are the only ones worth having conversations with:3. People that actually care for the content than for just bullshitting people around.
+deepthi r There are few of us who do not differentiate between English and Tamil when someone speaks to us as we are from an environment that has helped shaped our linguistic skills to a manageable extent. 14 years of schooling with English as the medium of instruction produces so many students who cannot speak in English. Its a problem with the 'System'. We just have to make sure those who do not speak English realizes that it is just a tool to communicate and that it is the content that matters. What to do? How to do? We wont know but initiating a dialogue is important. So here goes :)
