Eureka® THE BOSS SmartVac 4870 (Bad Switch?)

The Brushroll control switch suddenly started working. It engages just fine, might be from lack of use.
Bought this after selling my Precision in the last video. What should I do? Is the switch a pain to replace? I remember hearing they can overheat... oh honey. These are some of my favorite Eureka's and I've wanted to get my hands on a SmartVac for a while. What are your thoughts?

That’s exact same vacuum cleaner one is blue one is red and the blue one I never used because I want to keep it brand new, but the red one I really use I have like high carpet in my house and I vacuum it every single time and my eureka, the boss, smart vac had a really bad accident the belt melted So it was really bad because me and my sister had to use it like eight times and I did not notice the Brush roll wasn’t spinning and I heard like a squeal so I took it apart, and I see the belt was melting so I had to get a new belt. It still works

Yes, the switch can be a pain to replace! Yet, once you get the switch fix and the other issues fixed, it should be good to go! I believe the switch is held in with wires and a housing.
Ordered a replacement one on amazon.. found a youtube short of someone replacing a switch on another 4870 and it looked relatively easy...14 bucks for a new switch. hopefully it all works out because I like this one and it's in good shape! went to use it today and the switch started acting funky and I just stopped using it.

I took it apart to replace the switch and it basically melted the entire inside. It’s charred and some of the plastic has melted on the switch assembly :( I kind of figured this one was bad but I tried 😭 I definitely want another smartvac though! I love this vacuum too!
@@ColinPatrickxo Oh no that’s awful Colin. I hate hearing that. Keep looking! I see them for sale on Mercari and Facebook market at times. I wish you all the best on finding one. They are one of my favorite vacuums. One will come your way. Best of Luck! ❤
