Yeah its difficult in these kind of ghat sections like this and moreover a challenging one. Not all the SWR lines will have the same kind. Bengaluru Hubballi Belagavi is getting doubled in fast pace ! While Mysuru Jn - Bengaluru - Jolarpettai Jn is a double electric line ! And Bengaluru Dharmavaram Jn is almost a 110Kmph line (line will be doubled soon)
SWR has doubled and electrified its main tracks faster than SR in Yeshwantpur Hubbali, Hotgi Vijayapura lines . Even in Yeshwantpur Dharmavaram Guntakkal doubling and electrification is pending in SCR and not in SWR. In this line also Hosur is the last station for SWR. SWR has already built a huge freight handling yard in the border of Karnataka and nearly 90% ground leveling work upto hosur is complete. SWR is stuck only because of huge Krishna river and Ghataprabha river in Londa Belagavi Miraj line with many gradients. But Hubli Yeshwantpur line is doubled very fast and only some 50 KMs out of 418 Kms is pending for doubling while electrification is complete upto 200 Kms. On the negative side of SR, the trunk line of Madurai Kanyakumari with almost 260 Kms stretch is progessing slowly in doubling and electrification and completed distance is only 40% in last 2 years. SR is executing Nagercoil station modification for 2 years and still work is going on. SR has undertaken doubling of Nagercoil TRivandrum line for many years and only burrows are being visible there. SR is good only for maintenance of stations and coaches.
