Our guest for this session was Professor Stephanie Chitpin of the University of Ottawa, who spoke about education theory and its relation to epistemology.
Professor Chitpin's presentation details previous positions she has held as well as her background and situates her intellectual journey alongside Sir Karl Popper. In response to a question, “What is one thing you would change if you were promoted to a head of school?”, she came to look closely at Sir Karl Popper’s philosophical writings and its implications for education theory.
For those interested in reading up on Professor Chitpin's work, we recommend 'Leading school improvement: using Popper’s theory of learning', which can be found here:

I think public vs private school difference is quality vs quality ....or pay for what you get for a popperian approach to education to be accepted there need to be a change in the department of education or duologue at least about the equity of equal education opportunity. This could be a good way to deal with nepotism as well then this country could become truly based on equality of opportunity like it's supposed to be .
