Michael, I love the fact that you are always trying new things...watercolor, palette knife and now a figure! It's exciting and encouraging for me to see you do this. thanks
Another really nice painting. That pop of red was just what was needed. It instantly draws the eye to the center of interest. With the sand having a reddish tone keeps it from overpowering the eye. I love how the lines and value contrast moves the eye throughout the painting. Beautiful.
Looks great!! You found a way to capture a lot of the looseness and feel of your plein air process, and still remove distractions and variables like in the studio.
Great painting. For me, the upper line of white water and the upper green water boxes in the fisherman and I want to feel the freedom and fresh space of the ocean. Love all your work and look forward to it on Sunday! Carry on surfer dude!

Is it strange that my favorite part is the sketching out? There is something I find magical in there…. I get kinda sad when it’s covered but the painting is always beautiful. ❤
Great subject. Great painting. With simplex (yet complex) shapes of color for the fisherman, you really capture the man. The eye fills in the details and it's very convincing.

Question: why did you chose to paint outside w/hand held tablet..I have an attachment for my tripod that holds my tablet..but haven't thought to use it outside..only in the studio..just curiosity on my part! ❤ painting!

Really great! I do love the loose, casual impressionistic feel, rather than some overworked thing. I oil paint too.

The photo really portrayed it well in the painting 🙌
Very nice...good comment about putting down a brush stroke and leaving it...I need to work on that!
This was a fun one, and something so different than I've seen you do before.
Thanks so much...especially helpful to see you laying on the last colors of loaded brush work.....

This is how it’s done! Nice work.
So great to see this come to life! I’ve been wanting to add figures to my landscapes and this taught me so much 🎉

Nicely done, like the color spaces and contrasts. Might try it on the large canvas, Fun!

Awesome! Thanks for showing your process.
Really like the dark outline on that figure… gives it sort of Gauguin-vibe. Thanks for sharing this awesome work!

Great job love your work. I’m a very tight painter and trying to break my style. You are an inspiration.
Always look forward to your postings, very helpful pointers explaining your process well done.

Just wonderful

as always I am fascinated again. One question please; have you covered your canvas with gesso or something else before painting?
It’s a Blick premier canvas. Acrylic gesso has been applied by the manufacturer. I don’t do anything to the canvas before painting on it.
@@chamberlainpaintings thank you for your answer Michael! 👍🙏

Would love to see you paint a surfer/surfing scene. Are you still getting out?
Yes, usually 4-5 times per week!

Do you ever do on-site plein air classes with experienced painters?

Where are you getting your fames. I have to make those ( I see ) myself?
Great but how did you paint the fishing rod so accurate.?
I used a straight edge for the bottom half and then free handed the top half.
Thanks for response
Good morning Michael
Good morning Mark
@@chamberlainpaintings - Beautiful , nicely skilled, this is a keeper for Gallery / Auction , ( michael, so many errands here )
Why do you choose to paint outdoor? For your kind of subject, you could very well paint inside your studio.
The light is better. Plus I rarely paint from photos

So, did you go outdoors with a photo of an out door scene…..never mind you answered my question right off.
