Please do over an hour long video and explain every character❗I started this game recently and got kana and poseidon with other C tier units like Odin and so on.... Kana and Poseidon does unnatural dmg, while Kana does more than poseidon and has 16x block (they both same upgraded) why is she on C tier?
Poseidon is top tier. One of his main benefits is providing teamwide critical resistance which may not be heavily needed early game, but in late game, guild territory and Dark Lord tower bosses will basically do too much damage to your team if you get critted. For example, in my end game guild territory, I need 350%+ crit resistance on everyone in order for them to even survive. This is made easier with poseidon as he provides more crit resistance to the team for every water ally. Kana was an S tier archer along time ago because she did so much damage, but now there are characters who can do a lot of damage but also help the team in ways such as shields, heals, revives, etc. I'm pretty sure kana only provides the 16x block to herself which is nice for her but does nothing for helping the team survive. Now, when you first start, you probably won't have much difficulty keeping your team alive. But when you start to hit a wall, maybe the boss does too much damage, that's when it's going to be useful to have the meta characters who all provide shields, revives, and especially blocks. Characters who provide a lot of teamwide blocks are valuable to the team because blocks will block any enemy attack regardless of how strong the attack is. This is good bằng for your Buck, but it can also be expensive. For example, thetis gets most blocks when you get many duplicates for her which may not be immediately feasible for a new F2P player. In the beginning, sure, kana is fine for doing damage. Eventually when you start getting more of the S and A tier characters, they will be useful for late game levels. Odin is a very solid character. Her ult does decent damage and she provides good atk% bonus to the whole team, but so do other characters now. Aprodite can provide an even higher atk% buff that's teamwide but her other utilities are more beneficial than the bit of damage Odin can do. Depending on aphrodites position, she can provide all kinds of stats like boss damage, penetration, damage reduction, crit damage, etc. Because there are other characters who do more damage than Odin like zeus, and there are characters who provide better utilities and buffs like aphrodites and persephone, then that's why she's not the top of the list now.

Great, but also a more in depth guide of what stats are needed for each character and what teams they shine with should be included. Like can you slap the top 4 into a team and expect to sweep all content?
You should expect to pass most content. There's always going to be a few weird scenarios like the boss only taking damage from X element. In those cases, you'll have to use a couple damage dealers of that element. The active skill damage of the newer and top tier characters are generally stronger than the bottom tier, older characters and will do more damage even against physical and magical immunities. As long as your team doesn't die, then you can defeat any boss if time limit isn't short. The main stats for any healers and character who provides shields are going to be attack % since the shields scale with attack Stat. Your weapons for these healers whose skill doesn't depend on cooldown reduction like aphrodite, Persephone, Hades, and Thetis should have 4-6 lines of attack %. Harus active skill doesn't depend on cdr, but her passive skills provide lots of benefit depending on how much cdr she has, so a mix of 3 lines of attack and 3 lines of cooldown reduction. This 3 atk/3 cdr is going to be ideal for anyone whose active skill is affectd by cooldown reduction. As for armor, you want each character's gear to provide at least 10% damage reduction which simply makes them tankier. It's a better Stat than defense in terms of survivability. Along with this, you want at least 50% critical resistance for each character so that they don't get critted by raid bosses and most early game adventure bosses. As you get into late game, guild territory and dark lords tower bosses will require you to have more critical resistance. I'm working on a tier list of armor sets next which can at least show you what armor sets are worth upgrading and what sets are obsolete. Basically any set that provides 10%+ damage reduction is viable.
I haven't used it yet, but I do have it upgraded to +100. It's a great weapon for Cain as it can change his type to Dark and buffs his damage as well. I see it working as a good weapon for most warriors as the damage amplification and boss damage is good. The active skill damage would help any warrior who isn't a haste skill warrior like belphegor and ares but those 2 would still benefit from the rest of the stats. In the late game though, even Cain with a good weapon has poor DPS, so many players will opt to equip the poison blade on Cain so he can apply DEF debuff to the boss while your actual damage dealers do damage. In most cases, this leads to more damage done to the boss overall than if equipping Cain with a better weapon.
Very good guides. I just started playing a week or so ago and I have been very lucky with my drops. I got Hades, Aphrodite, and Rhea in the first 2 days. Later on I got Ymir to fill my dark and fire line up after purchasing the fire skin. I also just got Haru today as of posting which I read through is also a top tier. So it's been a big help to see this guide and read through the comments to start building my teams If you have any recommendations for a second team build with Haru, I'd much appreciate it.
Honestly without throwing too much information with you, I currently find a lot of my teams especially with raid involving Rhea, Aprodite. Luna and Haru are good compliments to that team depending on the situation. Like if the boss is immune to magic, then use Haru in conjunction with another physical dps like Kana. If the boss is immune to physical, maybe remove Rhea and put in Luna and Ymir, etc. The games pretty fluid for early to late game so it doesn't matter what team you use as long as you're making progress. Whenever you get stuck is when you should re-evaluate your team/gear.
I am not expert but: belphegor is main DPS - which doing tones of damage, Hades is good shild for "fire & dark team" doing good DPS for resistent enemies
Right. Belphegor mainly does a lot of physical damage but doesn't provide any team buffs. Hades provides great shields but only if the team is comprised of fire/dark characters. Otherwise she's pretty underwhelming. Vivian is a good tank which helps your team's survivability too.
Yeah they're just not meta anymore. They do damage but not anything else like heals, shields, or major team buffs, so that's why they're underutilized.
You're welcome! Anyone worth investing in like those in the S and A tier follow the same upgrading structure. Checklist -upgrade reinforcement stats to lv200 -for efficient rebirthing, get a few duplicates of the character -rebirth character max of 300 times which raises their reinforcement Stat cap to 500 -upgrade their reinforcement stats to 500 - use 500 affection potions on them for increased stats - only used the advanced higher tier affection potions on your most used characters (likely those In S tier who are the current meta) -now it's a matter of reinforcing their gear to lv 50, then 100 ( check latest weapon tier list and armor tier list in my community tab) weapons for sure upgrade to 100 for the higher tier weapons. For armor, you typically upgrade the chest and helmet to lv100 for the most survivability. Gloves and shoes are last to upgrade but can be left at 50. -characters who provide heals or shields best utilize armor sets with % damage reduction and % attack. Use those types of armor sets on them - most newer sets nowadays have %damage reduction and offensive stats so those can be used on warriors and archers as well. Same with mages. Those sets are the meta if you look at the armor tier list.
I've been real busy with life, but if you go to your gear sets, click on the "sort" button on the upper left corner of the screen, and sort by Grade, then the last several armor sets are typically what you want to prioritize. Those with damage reductionn% and/or Stat bonuses that help the entire team. Additionally, if they're hard to get, then that's also a good sign they're either new or good. Some high priorities that come to mind are guardian, vengeful spirit, sin of wrath, and cherry blossom sets. Also good are chaos, achilles, despair, and fanatic sets.
I didn't see anything on Miyu, so I'm assuming she came out recently? How would she rank? I've been enjoying her passive to tank all the teams dmg but I'm still fairly early
Hello. She's relatively newer so I haven't had the chance to make a video on her but she's no doubt one of the best if not the best tank in the game currently. Because of this and her synergy with other good characters like Hera, she would be decently high on the tier list. Now with that said, there are scenarios where you don't need that strong of a tank but need more damage, so she isn't used all the time.
is Lugrant or Aphrodite better, i kind of dont like that Aphrodite have to wait for atleast 2 skill to use her healing, compare to Lugrant which seem to have better healing to me, need help to decide these two
In the long run, aphrodite is way better. Her kit offers way more Stat bonuses to the team like attack. If you're struggling with surviving such that you need the immediate healing from lugrant, then maybe you can add in another character on your team who can provide heals or shields.
This is okay for pve when you're starting out. There's not a whole lot of synergy or team buffs but you won't need to worry too much about that when you're just starting out. Keep progressing in adventure mode and dark lords tower until you hit a wall, and then re-evaluate your team and change your team according to what the boss is. You can only run 1 team for so long. That team is mostly physical attack so you might run into a wall against enemies who are immune to physical, to which hades would be your only magical dps. Rating is just alright.
Also, question. for my fire/ dark setup with Hades, should I switch out a 2 star Athena for a no star Efreet. Efreet is one tier above in your list and I have Efreets sword to equip for her but she is 2 stars below. Should I wait to equip her until she has been starred up higher or equip her over a 2 star Athena?
The transcendence level difference is negligible, especially on older characters. For a casual player which is most people, you'll be fine using no star characters. It's a small small difference in your situation. What's more important may be the skills of the character (do they have useful team buffs) or do they output a lot of damage (I believe efreet easily does more damage to an enemy assuming no resistances). You can try with either and see if you get stuck. If you're experimenting for raid to see who does more damage, you should be able to go into the practice raid and test it out.

She's unfortunately not obtainable anymore to my knowledge. Only available during the time of collab. She's been replaced by another 5 star character, hestia though I rarely use her.
Yes and no. It's moreso catered towards late game content but mostly raid and guild territory. Generally your newer characters released are going to have strong damage and good utility. That's how the game devs make money off players. That's why you see most of the top tiers are comprised of the most recent released characters. No surprise there. I talked about dps in another comment so I'll just copy it here my opinion on dps. DPS to me, is mostly important for guild territory or some dark lower tower floors where it takes you nearly the entire time limit to kill it. In raid, even if you do crazy damage quickly, the boss will just increase its damage as your score goes up and then it just kills your team quickly. In some bosses where the time limit is 120s, then you may be able to get away with surviving the whole time so you can adjust your gear for max DPS. Progressing adventure you don't neccessarily need to have strong dps, but just be able to survive and kill the boss within the allotted time which usually isn't an issue in adventure. In late game you can't burst most bosses so you'll need improved survivability. Farming wise, once you upgrade your gear, then you can still get a fast farming team and time without the strongest dps gear. DPS is very important in guild territory however as the territories are timed. You'll need to maximize DPS while also being able to survive the boss. This may seem easy at lower difficulties of guild territory, but the late to end game guilds who are always trying to do the hardest difficulty they can handle, you'll see that you'll need to refine some gear to have crit resistance, leaving you less lines for defense and health, and therefore the % damage reduction comes in handy. And then dark lords timer is also timed. Some bosses just have crap loads of HP, so maximizing dps is crucial if you're taking nearly the entire time limit to kill the boss. If you're close, there's plenty of ways to optimize your damage such as having the right characters and gears on them. In this case, teams are very niche so the optimal dps team will depend on the boss and it's immunities.
Hades synergizes well with any team comprised of fire and/or dark type. She needs the entire team to be only fire and/or dark in order for her active skill to provide shields. This is why she works well with persephone. Other characters that work well are aphrodite if you can make her fire or dark type. Aphrodites element changes to whatever Cain is so you should look to acquire cains costumes for fire, and the demon sword to turn him dark if you haven't already acquired those. Luna is another good ally if you can get the totsuka sword which makes her dark type. It really just depends on the situation, these aren't the best allies, but generally good on paper.
She can be one of the greatest mage damage dealers however I find she relies on upgraded gear and high transcendence in order to really see her true potential. New players may find her weak
I'm just only for a week now i'm stuck at the dark lord tower 77 because my char keep doing miss. Is accuracy the problem? And how do you increase that? My max accuracy is 300-350but still miss. And the ranger psyche stop doing dmg when facing the boss. Why?
Your missing issue is due to lack of accuracy. Many ways to increase accuracy. The easiest way is to upgrade gloves and equip armor sets and weapons that increase accuracy. As for why your character might be doing 1 dmge against a boss with physical/magical immunity, it means your offensive stats are too low. Long story short it's a combination of all your stats like crit rate, penetration, crit damage, attack, etc. Since the boss is fire, you could try characters who do extra damage to fire enemies such as lucifer. Characters with high crit rate are more likely to do abit more damage.
By the time the next character Rhea comes out which is relatively soon, I should be finished with moving in, and I'll plan to do a meta review and talk about the new characters and their impact on the tier/meta list
This was made before she and Miyu were released. Those 2 are the newest characters and they're both top tier and synergize well with each other. Not really a specific order if which you have to get them. I would just get them when you can and whenever their banner comes.
I don't have numbers for her skills so it's hard to say. She seems like the mage version of Haru though her skills are different. She's definitely going to change the meta for some situations so it wouldn't be a bad idea to save some rubies for 1 to a few copies of her.
Nothing wrong with that team. You should have some amount of shields/blocks which poseidon, haru, Persephone, Hades, and Ariel can provide. If that's too much shield, then you can swap some of them with other characters depending on the situation. Speaking generally, you should be okay with Haru, Persephone, Poseidon, and Ariel. If you need some heals, you can switch out any of them for Lugrant.
I've played maybe like 5 minutes of her and she's really good. She helps your team survive for much longer which is useful for any scenario. I plan on making a video about her in the future but long story short, she's worth getting If you come across her banner.
No clue. I know the next character is Rhea. I personally don't know of any upcoming characters beyond that. The best way to find out is check out the Sword Master Story page on the Korean Naver forums. We haven't had any crossovers lately so it's hard to say. I can't begin to understand what's going on in the mobile gaming industry let alone games made by a Korean Company. Having collabs cost money, and SMS in its current state, feels super money hungry to me with the countless amounts of new packages. Or maybe they don't see the Returns expected from a collab so it may not make sense financially. The game has a healthy enough player base, but it's definitely slowed down compared to before.

The answer will heavily vary on what it is you're trying to push. If it's raid, then you'll need all the top tier characters. If it's adventure, the same idea kind of applies. Some S tier and A tier characters will get you far, and then supplementing that with gear upgrades should do the trick. There's not a specific team that will instantly get you far without gear and weapon upgrades. Some characters that will help a lot will be Haru, Aphrodite, and persephone as they provide blocks and shields without too much investment.
My Ariel out damages my Ymir, Airi, Odin like wtf am I doing wrong? Ariel does billions of damage and she is put in the A tier and the S tiers that I have couldn't even stack up to her dps..
My tier list or meta list personally doesn't place much importantance on DPS. Maybe for new players, damage is important, but for a large number of existing players who have been playing for awhile, it becomes increasingly important mostly for Raid, to have a team that can also sustain and deal damage. For example, if your team is full of high dps and Glass cannons, then you're going to reach a high raid score very fast causing the raid boss to increase its damage. Nowadays the raids are shorter, I.e 120 seconds. You really should be trying to last the entire 120s and dealing as much damage as possible. If you die beforehand, then there may be some weaknesses In your team or gear setup. DPS is important sure, but think about it this way. When you get far into the game and have strong gear for everyone, then pretty much most characters will do decent damage. You'll then need other factors to have success and survivability in battles such as shields, blocks, team buffs, etc. It just so happens most of the newer characters have lots of useful team buffs and utilities that older characters don't have, so they tend to be the meta when released. Ariel does lots of damage and is useful in many cases, but her kit as a whole isn't as beneficial to the team as some of the newer characters. Just trying to set other players for success in the late game. I personally think your resources are better spent on the newer characters like Aphrodite, luna, Haru, miyu, than older characters like Ariel who of course is still solid. If she gets the job done, then keep using her until you reach a point where she's not the best anymore. There's a time and place for DPS. For example, belphegor is someone who can dish out a ton of physical dps, often times more than anyone else against bosses weak to dark. But if the boss is like a breath boss or a boss that hits multiple characters at once, I may opt to use someone else like Haru or Luna that can help keep the team alive while still doing some damage. We find that surviving longer while doing decent damage usually reaps better results than a team that does damage faster but dies earlier. I wouldn't worry about maxing dps in Raid until you can survive the entire raid time (if time limit is 120s). But, if you find that your score is higher in trying to dish out damage as quickly as possible, then keep doing that until it doesn't work. Now for guild territory battles where the goal is to deal as much damage as possible, the same mission stands. Find a good middle ground where you can deal as much damage as possible for as much time as possible. You want to use all the time the guild fight gives you. If your team dies early from not having enough sustain, then that's where you can improve or change your team. Hope that makes sense.
Pretty solid characters so far. You can use Haru/Luna with just about anyone else since they both provide blocks/shield in addition to decent damage. Nothing wrong with leaving Eros and Psyche in there as well if those are your only other 5 stars since they provide additional heals, shields, and damage. You can progress far with just that team. When you get stuck, is when you should consider switching out some characters for others depending on the situation. As far as next characters to get, I'd prioritize aphrodite for support and rhea for versatile dps
They're both top tier right now though they require specific stats to really improve their capability. The main one is having 60% cooldown reduction even though their active skill isn't affected, but it improves some of their passives. Some of their passives also have varying effects based on allies element and also on stats like accuracy, crit damage, so basically upgrading things like shoes, gloves, and rings will increase their utility.
She wasn't released during the time of this video. She's in S tier. But also note that she relies on highly upgraded gear, and her damages increases greatly if you can get many many duplicates of her. In other words, you might find her underwhelming if you only get 1 copy.
in my opinion on these tier lists you should add a tier called "Meta" instead of dumping all of them in S tier since it would ofc bump down the other units in A tier, just as a matter of perspective so people know what is strong during this season but know that some other units are still strongly viable like Archer/Water teams
That's fair. There's still plenty of teams you can get through the game with. The "meta" teams really help when you're trying to maximize your score with the game relative to others.
She's definitely a must have in today's meta which is currently dominated by Archer teams due to the newest character, Rina, being an archer and having good synergies with other archers. By meta, I mean for Raid meta.
I haven't tried the newest character yet, but as of last patch, Haru was one of the better characters to get. Starting out, you cant go wrong with anyone in the S tier. Sometimes character-banners are not scheduled conveniently. After getting 1 S tier character, the next 1 might not be for a week or two. I wouldn't let that stop you from starting the game.
She's considered meta now. For the most part, she does best with accuracy gear so you have to use somewhat specific gear if you want to maximize her damage for things like Raid or guild territory. Her damage ramps up over time so she's great for those longer battles.

I haven't had time to play with her as I've been sick. Judging from Korean forums and general thoughts of people in the discord thus far, she's in the top tier for sure. She only gets better with every transcendence
I'm new in this game. For me, bunny Hestia is such a freaking insane mage, she S tier in my mind, she has nuke damage and deleted the boss instantly. Thanks to bunny Hestia, I was able to complete stages level that new players shouldn't be able to clear lol 🤣
Yes she's good for that reason. She's designed to be the same character as 1 of the old limited collab characters Megumin who was basically a nuker but then was weakened after they ulted. She's great for progressing. Just know in the super late game, it won't do you good if your team can't survive xD. Can't really nuke any of the end game content because the bosses are all meatshields with loads of HP
@@smsmartin Yeah, in the Abyss boss on the high floor she can't delete the boss anymore because the boss has high evasion and magic resistance, but that pink rabbit help me alot to get a bunch of rewards from the very hard stage so early, she made a big contribution to my account 🤣
Yui was an S tier healer when the game began because she was the only 5 star healer. She was great at solo healing and provided some team buffs. Now, there's healers who can provide stronger heals than her, and to the whole team too such as Eros when you use her in a team with a few archers. Also, the current meta relies on characters who provide shields. If you have shields on your whole team, then there's really no point in having a healer. You just have to keep your team's shield active. This teamwide shield can usually be kept active by having 1-3 characters with shields rotating their ults. This strat will allow your team to live while also doing damage as well.
Aprodite is just a full package compared to yui. She provides some heals, but mostly shields and mostly attack% Stat which helps other characters give stronger shields. If you put aprodite in the farthest left position, she also gives everyone on the team damage reduction which helps with survivability, or put her in the 2nd slot to increase atk% on everyone by a large margin.
For whatever reason, when she was released, her passives just granted her a lot of damage through ancient shield passive for example. So for newish players, it's not surprising she does a lot of damage on your team relative to everyone else with similar gear. Once you have everyone and all your gear upgraded, her damage will start to fall short of those with actual active skill attacks. Additionally, her basic attacks will hit the entire minion mob, so don't confuse that damage from damage dealt to the boss.
Been procrastinating on a meta list but she is definitely top tier. She can dish out a lot of damage while also providing all kinds of utility depending on what position (2nd,3rd,4th,5th row) she's in. Not a bad idea to pick her up next time you see her banner.
The 2 newest characters, Luna, and Miyu I would say are high tier, considered to be part of the meta right now. Luna is like a mage version of Haru. Miyu will help your survive a lot of bosses but the main boss she will struggle with against is breath bosses because she takes damage for the entire team.
Hades by herself is kinda tough to start out with. Her skill necessitates having a team of only fire and dark type characters to get the most out of it. If I was starting brand new, then getting someone like Haru and Aphrodite together would help. If you plan on spending money, then there's a few character specific passes that give you the character after you complete the battle passes. With only hades, you won't have as easy of a time
Mia used to be S tier as she was the only way to provide blocks to the team, and during a team there weren't as many characters that can provide teamwide shields and blocks. She's great for 15s, but then after her blocks wear out, she heals for 15s which isn't neccessarily useful if you have shields active. There's characters like persephone, Hades, and Thetis, aprodite and haru who can provide shields and blocks now more consistently and they do more active skill damage than Mia as well.
@smsmartin I see, sadly I've been getting that feeling as well 😕 I have both persephone & aphrodite but I've been stacking aphrodite & Mia together as Mia is the only one fully rebirthed(though the pairing has hit it's ceiling) I'll try stacking both new healers instead
Cain is the main character so he's forced to be in your party. I don't have him on this list because of that reason. By himself, he's not very impressive as many other characters easily do more damage than him.
@@divineace9516 Cain is poop tier. Most cases there are better characters to use over him, but sadly we can't remove him from party since he is the main character. He does poor damage and no useful passives whatsoever lol

Depending on aphrodites position, she can provide all kinds of stats like boss damage, penetration, damage reduction, crit damage, etc. Because there are other characters who do more damage than Odin like zeus, and there are characters who provide better utilities and buffs like aphrodites and persephone, then that's why she's not the top of the list now.

Great, but also a more in depth guide of what stats are needed for each character and what teams they shine with should be included. Like can you slap the top 4 into a team and expect to sweep all content?
You should expect to pass most content. There's always going to be a few weird scenarios like the boss only taking damage from X element. In those cases, you'll have to use a couple damage dealers of that element. The active skill damage of the newer and top tier characters are generally stronger than the bottom tier, older characters and will do more damage even against physical and magical immunities. As long as your team doesn't die, then you can defeat any boss if time limit isn't short.
The main stats for any healers and character who provides shields are going to be attack % since the shields scale with attack Stat.
Your weapons for these healers whose skill doesn't depend on cooldown reduction like aphrodite, Persephone, Hades, and Thetis should have 4-6 lines of attack %. Harus active skill doesn't depend on cdr, but her passive skills provide lots of benefit depending on how much cdr she has, so a mix of 3 lines of attack and 3 lines of cooldown reduction.
This 3 atk/3 cdr is going to be ideal for anyone whose active skill is affectd by cooldown reduction.
As for armor, you want each character's gear to provide at least 10% damage reduction which simply makes them tankier. It's a better Stat than defense in terms of survivability. Along with this, you want at least 50% critical resistance for each character so that they don't get critted by raid bosses and most early game adventure bosses. As you get into late game, guild territory and dark lords tower bosses will require you to have more critical resistance.
I'm working on a tier list of armor sets next which can at least show you what armor sets are worth upgrading and what sets are obsolete. Basically any set that provides 10%+ damage reduction is viable.

It's a great weapon for Cain as it can change his type to Dark and buffs his damage as well.
I see it working as a good weapon for most warriors as the damage amplification and boss damage is good. The active skill damage would help any warrior who isn't a haste skill warrior like belphegor and ares but those 2 would still benefit from the rest of the stats.
In the late game though, even Cain with a good weapon has poor DPS, so many players will opt to equip the poison blade on Cain so he can apply DEF debuff to the boss while your actual damage dealers do damage. In most cases, this leads to more damage done to the boss overall than if equipping Cain with a better weapon.
Very good guides. I just started playing a week or so ago and I have been very lucky with my drops.
I got Hades, Aphrodite, and Rhea in the first 2 days. Later on I got Ymir to fill my dark and fire line up after purchasing the fire skin.
I also just got Haru today as of posting which I read through is also a top tier.
So it's been a big help to see this guide and read through the comments to start building my teams

Honestly without throwing too much information with you, I currently find a lot of my teams especially with raid involving Rhea, Aprodite.
Luna and Haru are good compliments to that team depending on the situation. Like if the boss is immune to magic, then use Haru in conjunction with another physical dps like Kana. If the boss is immune to physical, maybe remove Rhea and put in Luna and Ymir, etc. The games pretty fluid for early to late game so it doesn't matter what team you use as long as you're making progress. Whenever you get stuck is when you should re-evaluate your team/gear.
I am not expert but: belphegor is main DPS - which doing tones of damage, Hades is good shild for "fire & dark team" doing good DPS for resistent enemies
Right. Belphegor mainly does a lot of physical damage but doesn't provide any team buffs. Hades provides great shields but only if the team is comprised of fire/dark characters. Otherwise she's pretty underwhelming. Vivian is a good tank which helps your team's survivability too.

Yeah they're just not meta anymore. They do damage but not anything else like heals, shields, or major team buffs, so that's why they're underutilized.

Checklist
-upgrade reinforcement stats to lv200
-for efficient rebirthing, get a few duplicates of the character
-rebirth character max of 300 times which raises their reinforcement Stat cap to 500
-upgrade their reinforcement stats to 500
- use 500 affection potions on them for increased stats
- only used the advanced higher tier affection potions on your most used characters (likely those In S tier who are the current meta)
-now it's a matter of reinforcing their gear to lv 50, then 100 ( check latest weapon tier list and armor tier list in my community tab) weapons for sure upgrade to 100 for the higher tier weapons. For armor, you typically upgrade the chest and helmet to lv100 for the most survivability. Gloves and shoes are last to upgrade but can be left at 50.
-characters who provide heals or shields best utilize armor sets with % damage reduction and % attack. Use those types of armor sets on them
- most newer sets nowadays have %damage reduction and offensive stats so those can be used on warriors and archers as well. Same with mages. Those sets are the meta if you look at the armor tier list.

I've been real busy with life, but if you go to your gear sets, click on the "sort" button on the upper left corner of the screen, and sort by Grade, then the last several armor sets are typically what you want to prioritize. Those with damage reductionn% and/or Stat bonuses that help the entire team. Additionally, if they're hard to get, then that's also a good sign they're either new or good.
Some high priorities that come to mind are guardian, vengeful spirit, sin of wrath, and cherry blossom sets.
Also good are chaos, achilles, despair, and fanatic sets.
I didn't see anything on Miyu, so I'm assuming she came out recently? How would she rank? I've been enjoying her passive to tank all the teams dmg but I'm still fairly early
Hello. She's relatively newer so I haven't had the chance to make a video on her but she's no doubt one of the best if not the best tank in the game currently. Because of this and her synergy with other good characters like Hera, she would be decently high on the tier list. Now with that said, there are scenarios where you don't need that strong of a tank but need more damage, so she isn't used all the time.

In the long run, aphrodite is way better. Her kit offers way more Stat bonuses to the team like attack. If you're struggling with surviving such that you need the immediate healing from lugrant, then maybe you can add in another character on your team who can provide heals or shields.

This is okay for pve when you're starting out. There's not a whole lot of synergy or team buffs but you won't need to worry too much about that when you're just starting out. Keep progressing in adventure mode and dark lords tower until you hit a wall, and then re-evaluate your team and change your team according to what the boss is. You can only run 1 team for so long. That team is mostly physical attack so you might run into a wall against enemies who are immune to physical, to which hades would be your only magical dps. Rating is just alright.
question: is gaia archer team still good? I kinda struggle with kanas ult being the main source of damage while it has a huge cooldown
Kana & Mary are good archers but I would use extra archers with "team buffs" .. never used Gaia

for my fire/ dark setup with Hades, should I switch out a 2 star Athena for a no star Efreet.
Efreet is one tier above in your list and I have Efreets sword to equip for her but she is 2 stars below.

The transcendence level difference is negligible, especially on older characters. For a casual player which is most people, you'll be fine using no star characters. It's a small small difference in your situation. What's more important may be the skills of the character (do they have useful team buffs) or do they output a lot of damage (I believe efreet easily does more damage to an enemy assuming no resistances). You can try with either and see if you get stuck. If you're experimenting for raid to see who does more damage, you should be able to go into the practice raid and test it out.

Yes and no. It's moreso catered towards late game content but mostly raid and guild territory. Generally your newer characters released are going to have strong damage and good utility. That's how the game devs make money off players. That's why you see most of the top tiers are comprised of the most recent released characters. No surprise there.
I talked about dps in another comment so I'll just copy it here my opinion on dps.
DPS to me, is mostly important for guild territory or some dark lower tower floors where it takes you nearly the entire time limit to kill it.
In raid, even if you do crazy damage quickly, the boss will just increase its damage as your score goes up and then it just kills your team quickly. In some bosses where the time limit is 120s, then you may be able to get away with surviving the whole time so you can adjust your gear for max DPS.
Progressing adventure you don't neccessarily need to have strong dps, but just be able to survive and kill the boss within the allotted time which usually isn't an issue in adventure. In late game you can't burst most bosses so you'll need improved survivability.
Farming wise, once you upgrade your gear, then you can still get a fast farming team and time without the strongest dps gear.
DPS is very important in guild territory however as the territories are timed. You'll need to maximize DPS while also being able to survive the boss. This may seem easy at lower difficulties of guild territory, but the late to end game guilds who are always trying to do the hardest difficulty they can handle, you'll see that you'll need to refine some gear to have crit resistance, leaving you less lines for defense and health, and therefore the % damage reduction comes in handy.
And then dark lords timer is also timed. Some bosses just have crap loads of HP, so maximizing dps is crucial if you're taking nearly the entire time limit to kill the boss. If you're close, there's plenty of ways to optimize your damage such as having the right characters and gears on them. In this case, teams are very niche so the optimal dps team will depend on the boss and it's immunities.
I got Hades and Persephone, which hero would be better to pair the other two with?
Hades synergizes well with any team comprised of fire and/or dark type. She needs the entire team to be only fire and/or dark in order for her active skill to provide shields. This is why she works well with persephone. Other characters that work well are aphrodite if you can make her fire or dark type. Aphrodites element changes to whatever Cain is so you should look to acquire cains costumes for fire, and the demon sword to turn him dark if you haven't already acquired those. Luna is another good ally if you can get the totsuka sword which makes her dark type.
It really just depends on the situation, these aren't the best allies, but generally good on paper.

She can be one of the greatest mage damage dealers however I find she relies on upgraded gear and high transcendence in order to really see her true potential. New players may find her weak

I'm just only for a week now i'm stuck at the dark lord tower 77 because my char keep doing miss. Is accuracy the problem? And how do you increase that? My max accuracy is 300-350but still miss. And the ranger psyche stop doing dmg when facing the boss. Why?
Your missing issue is due to lack of accuracy. Many ways to increase accuracy. The easiest way is to upgrade gloves and equip armor sets and weapons that increase accuracy.
As for why your character might be doing 1 dmge against a boss with physical/magical immunity, it means your offensive stats are too low. Long story short it's a combination of all your stats like crit rate, penetration, crit damage, attack, etc. Since the boss is fire, you could try characters who do extra damage to fire enemies such as lucifer. Characters with high crit rate are more likely to do abit more damage.

This was made before she and Miyu were released. Those 2 are the newest characters and they're both top tier and synergize well with each other. Not really a specific order if which you have to get them. I would just get them when you can and whenever their banner comes.

Nothing wrong with that team. You should have some amount of shields/blocks which poseidon, haru, Persephone, Hades, and Ariel can provide. If that's too much shield, then you can swap some of them with other characters depending on the situation.
Speaking generally, you should be okay with Haru, Persephone, Poseidon, and Ariel. If you need some heals, you can switch out any of them for Lugrant.

No clue. I know the next character is Rhea. I personally don't know of any upcoming characters beyond that. The best way to find out is check out the Sword Master Story page on the Korean Naver forums. We haven't had any crossovers lately so it's hard to say. I can't begin to understand what's going on in the mobile gaming industry let alone games made by a Korean Company. Having collabs cost money, and SMS in its current state, feels super money hungry to me with the countless amounts of new packages. Or maybe they don't see the Returns expected from a collab so it may not make sense financially. The game has a healthy enough player base, but it's definitely slowed down compared to before.

What's the best lineup now for pushing?
The answer will heavily vary on what it is you're trying to push. If it's raid, then you'll need all the top tier characters.
If it's adventure, the same idea kind of applies. Some S tier and A tier characters will get you far, and then supplementing that with gear upgrades should do the trick.
There's not a specific team that will instantly get you far without gear and weapon upgrades. Some characters that will help a lot will be Haru, Aphrodite, and persephone as they provide blocks and shields without too much investment.

My Ariel out damages my Ymir, Airi, Odin like wtf am I doing wrong? Ariel does billions of damage and she is put in the A tier and the S tiers that I have couldn't even stack up to her dps..
My tier list or meta list personally doesn't place much importantance on DPS. Maybe for new players, damage is important, but for a large number of existing players who have been playing for awhile, it becomes increasingly important mostly for Raid, to have a team that can also sustain and deal damage.
For example, if your team is full of high dps and Glass cannons, then you're going to reach a high raid score very fast causing the raid boss to increase its damage. Nowadays the raids are shorter, I.e 120 seconds. You really should be trying to last the entire 120s and dealing as much damage as possible. If you die beforehand, then there may be some weaknesses In your team or gear setup.
DPS is important sure, but think about it this way. When you get far into the game and have strong gear for everyone, then pretty much most characters will do decent damage. You'll then need other factors to have success and survivability in battles such as shields, blocks, team buffs, etc. It just so happens most of the newer characters have lots of useful team buffs and utilities that older characters don't have, so they tend to be the meta when released.
Ariel does lots of damage and is useful in many cases, but her kit as a whole isn't as beneficial to the team as some of the newer characters.
Just trying to set other players for success in the late game. I personally think your resources are better spent on the newer characters like Aphrodite, luna, Haru, miyu, than older characters like Ariel who of course is still solid. If she gets the job done, then keep using her until you reach a point where she's not the best anymore.
There's a time and place for DPS. For example, belphegor is someone who can dish out a ton of physical dps, often times more than anyone else against bosses weak to dark. But if the boss is like a breath boss or a boss that hits multiple characters at once, I may opt to use someone else like Haru or Luna that can help keep the team alive while still doing some damage. We find that surviving longer while doing decent damage usually reaps better results than a team that does damage faster but dies earlier.
I wouldn't worry about maxing dps in Raid until you can survive the entire raid time (if time limit is 120s). But, if you find that your score is higher in trying to dish out damage as quickly as possible, then keep doing that until it doesn't work.
Now for guild territory battles where the goal is to deal as much damage as possible, the same mission stands. Find a good middle ground where you can deal as much damage as possible for as much time as possible. You want to use all the time the guild fight gives you. If your team dies early from not having enough sustain, then that's where you can improve or change your team.

Pretty solid characters so far.
You can use Haru/Luna with just about anyone else since they both provide blocks/shield in addition to decent damage.
Nothing wrong with leaving Eros and Psyche in there as well if those are your only other 5 stars since they provide additional heals, shields, and damage.
You can progress far with just that team. When you get stuck, is when you should consider switching out some characters for others depending on the situation.
As far as next characters to get, I'd prioritize aphrodite for support and rhea for versatile dps

They're both top tier right now though they require specific stats to really improve their capability. The main one is having 60% cooldown reduction even though their active skill isn't affected, but it improves some of their passives. Some of their passives also have varying effects based on allies element and also on stats like accuracy, crit damage, so basically upgrading things like shoes, gloves, and rings will increase their utility.

She wasn't released during the time of this video. She's in S tier. But also note that she relies on highly upgraded gear, and her damages increases greatly if you can get many many duplicates of her. In other words, you might find her underwhelming if you only get 1 copy.
in my opinion on these tier lists you should add a tier called "Meta" instead of dumping all of them in S tier since it would ofc bump down the other units in A tier, just as a matter of perspective so people know what is strong during this season but know that some other units are still strongly viable like Archer/Water teams
That's fair. There's still plenty of teams you can get through the game with. The "meta" teams really help when you're trying to maximize your score with the game relative to others.

Yep
She's definitely a must have in today's meta which is currently dominated by Archer teams due to the newest character, Rina, being an archer and having good synergies with other archers. By meta, I mean for Raid meta.

I haven't tried the newest character yet, but as of last patch, Haru was one of the better characters to get. Starting out, you cant go wrong with anyone in the S tier. Sometimes character-banners are not scheduled conveniently. After getting 1 S tier character, the next 1 might not be for a week or two. I wouldn't let that stop you from starting the game.

Just farm adventure or dimensional labyrinth stage 1000+. Eventually it will drop. It could also be dropped from 5 star weapon chests and summons.
how good is Rhea?
She's considered meta now. For the most part, she does best with accuracy gear so you have to use somewhat specific gear if you want to maximize her damage for things like Raid or guild territory. Her damage ramps up over time so she's great for those longer battles.

Yes she's good for that reason. She's designed to be the same character as 1 of the old limited collab characters Megumin who was basically a nuker but then was weakened after they ulted. She's great for progressing. Just know in the super late game, it won't do you good if your team can't survive xD. Can't really nuke any of the end game content because the bosses are all meatshields with loads of HP

Yui was an S tier healer when the game began because she was the only 5 star healer. She was great at solo healing and provided some team buffs. Now, there's healers who can provide stronger heals than her, and to the whole team too such as Eros when you use her in a team with a few archers. Also, the current meta relies on characters who provide shields. If you have shields on your whole team, then there's really no point in having a healer. You just have to keep your team's shield active. This teamwide shield can usually be kept active by having 1-3 characters with shields rotating their ults. This strat will allow your team to live while also doing damage as well.
Aprodite is just a full package compared to yui. She provides some heals, but mostly shields and mostly attack% Stat which helps other characters give stronger shields. If you put aprodite in the farthest left position, she also gives everyone on the team damage reduction which helps with survivability, or put her in the 2nd slot to increase atk% on everyone by a large margin.
How come Mia isn't top!? She is still my top damage dealer no matter her build.
For whatever reason, when she was released, her passives just granted her a lot of damage through ancient shield passive for example. So for newish players, it's not surprising she does a lot of damage on your team relative to everyone else with similar gear. Once you have everyone and all your gear upgraded, her damage will start to fall short of those with actual active skill attacks. Additionally, her basic attacks will hit the entire minion mob, so don't confuse that damage from damage dealt to the boss.
How good is Miyu?
She's the games best tank right now so if say she's good

The 2 newest characters, Luna, and Miyu I would say are high tier, considered to be part of the meta right now. Luna is like a mage version of Haru. Miyu will help your survive a lot of bosses but the main boss she will struggle with against is breath bosses because she takes damage for the entire team.
My first 5star is hades should I keep playing? Or reroll?
Hades by herself is kinda tough to start out with. Her skill necessitates having a team of only fire and dark type characters to get the most out of it. If I was starting brand new, then getting someone like Haru and Aphrodite together would help. If you plan on spending money, then there's a few character specific passes that give you the character after you complete the battle passes. With only hades, you won't have as easy of a time

Mia used to be S tier as she was the only way to provide blocks to the team, and during a team there weren't as many characters that can provide teamwide shields and blocks. She's great for 15s, but then after her blocks wear out, she heals for 15s which isn't neccessarily useful if you have shields active.
There's characters like persephone, Hades, and Thetis, aprodite and haru who can provide shields and blocks now more consistently and they do more active skill damage than Mia as well.
@smsmartin I see, sadly I've been getting that feeling as well 😕 I have both persephone & aphrodite but I've been stacking aphrodite & Mia together as Mia is the only one fully rebirthed(though the pairing has hit it's ceiling)
I'll try stacking both new healers instead

cain is s tier???
Cain is the main character so he's forced to be in your party. I don't have him on this list because of that reason. By himself, he's not very impressive as many other characters easily do more damage than him.

@@divineace9516 Cain is poop tier. Most cases there are better characters to use over him, but sadly we can't remove him from party since he is the main character. He does poor damage and no useful passives whatsoever lol
