You lucky lucky bastard! I've been trying to find one of these in good nick without taking out a second mortgage. Here in the sticks of Georgia these are as rare as hen's teeth and the shipping charges are outrageous. Have fun with it.
@@MoultrieGeek Picked mine up on an auction at ShopGoodwill.com. Shipping can be a ripoff but look for more local locations. Go Dawgs! Oh, wait, nevermind! 😉
Hey, hey The old G4s were great I have an old Ti G4 I need to get back in the game, I was thinking of putting a powerpc version of Linux on it, but I might just stick with the OSX 4.1 that it is limited to. I do have a bunch of software for it so I will keep the Linux option at arm's length for the time being. Great dis-assembly vid btw. I like the case as a heat sink idea too.
@@nathanwagnon5406 Hey thanks for watching and commenting!! Yeah these machines are a cool part of Apple's history- glad you are keeping yours rocking! I just got a working Mac Plus, so will be doing a video on that soon enough! Cheers! ✌️
Sweet! Yeah, great for an iTunes server! Wonder if I can upgrade mine to 2gb? Most info I have seen says 1gb max, butI think I did see one post saying it'll play nice with 2gb...? Appreciate the comment!
@@ToddTinkersWithTech I think my specs said 1.25gb or something for my model, but it sees all 2gb and runs nicely. I’d check for any updates first obviously
An enjoyable video!👍👍 I do like the style of those computers and if I recall correctly there are some neat speakers for it. I do have one Mac computer, it's a 2008 2.4 GHz., core 2 duo 17 inch MacBook Pro, it has the maximum 8 gig of ram installed and an ssd., with Linux Mint Mate as the OS., it currently works well, but there have been some minor glitches, I particularly like it's keyboard.
Yeah they came with the clear speakers, I am currently looking for a clean set! Yep those old MacBook Pro's are tanks; solid machines! Appreciate the comments!
@@ToddTinkersWithTech I did have a 2010 Mac Mini, but it did not work, so an Apple Mac enthusiast now has it. I do like the modularity of the last 5,1 Mac Pro desktop computers.
Yeah I have seen the video (can't remember his name) where that was done! Would be cool for a non-working machine that you could tear into without guilt, but I think I want to preserve this one! Appreciate the comment! 👍
@@ToddTinkersWithTech Agreed. I would not do it to yours. A broken one with a good exterior but nonworking guts would be optimal for that sort of sleeper build.

great video fellow Todd, keep them coming
Much appreciated! 👍
$33?! What a find!
Yeah, hoping to pick up a vintage iSight camera to go with it! Appreciate the comment!

I still have mine. I upgraded the RAM to 2gb and replaced the HDD with a SSD. Now it’s the family jukebox!

On Tiger 10.4.11 you can specify WiFi security to be WPA2 and it should connect
@@scottharvey-davies1607 Cool, I'll give that a try! 👍
Put a Mac M2 Mini in there.

You can also get them working as a second monitor 👍🏻
