I had a coworker that got on my nerves asking me questions about stuff I felt as if she should already know sweet girl but I just wanted to clock in and clock out but I am a nice person and willing to help so I would answer her questions about the bible or about debt etc. She wanted to persue other things and put in a 2 week notice. She told me that she looked up to me and seen me as her mentor and thanked me for everything. That absolutely changed my life and I didn't know she seen me as such I thought she was just a naive 24 yr old blondey. It definitely changed my views on new people I meet and my willingness and want to answer people questions or concerns no matter how small I think it is.
That's why you/we have to stop judging people and stop mistreating people who simply want to know more. Like, how can you even knock someone who wants to gain knowledge from you or better themselves? She could have been an angel in disguise, someone there to bless you; that's why it's important to be kind and be helpful to people. Glad you were able to gain that wisdom!
I'm glad that you had a change of heart. People may get under your skin by asking questions, but keep in mind that there was a time when you just didn't know and someone helped you. We carry the fruit of the spirit so others can pluck it; that is how we grow and become a blessing to others. God bless you.
When I think of mentors in religion I think of discipleship, people who choose to walk alongside others and help them not exactly coaching them or having a relationship with God for them. Moreso for accountability and strengthening, especially for those who weren’t raised Christian.
Everyone has mentors whether they realize it or not. Mentors are nothing more or less than those who influence our lives (actions, thoughts and decisions). Some mentors are just closer than others... if the truth be told.👍🏾💯
@@mrsbrownsugarsweetz Dear one. You have mentors. Think about all the people who helped influence and shaped your life through actions, words and decisions down through the years. The word mentor is thought about so deeply that we fail to realize how many people have mentored us over the years. Remember... some mentors are closer than others.👍🏾💯
They are definitely not humble. Many use the word humble is the wrong context. The definition of humble is 1.having or showing a modest or low estimate of one's own importance 2.of low social, administrative, or political rank. This is most certainly not them.
Chance, I understand, what you’re saying. If you mentor, young people, on education, loving oneself, and basic life skills, being a leader, not a follower. They can become successful, in all their endeavors
I love the way Tabitha looks at Chance when he's speaking.😍 Their love is so beautiful. You can clearly tell how much they've invested into their marriage. Love them!!♥♥
Mentor's show us choices for life and expand our views. So much of what I valued came from the actions of others that I admired and not so much their words. For example there was a man at the small church I attended as a kid who was our Vacation Bible school leader. He wore a beautiful suit, spoke and sang with a deep baritone voice and really rallied all of the kids to enjoy and celebrate the the Lord. Brother Hall was my first example of a black male hero. Years later I saw him in stained overalls working at our cities' bus depot and I admired the courage it took for him to lead when his day job wore him out. There are many silent mentors whose actions guide us. God bless them.
Tabitha you a mentor of me I was a sick person I had all kind of problems medical high blood pressure cholesterol and everything else and you mentored me by making me think that I could get rid of all was that by throwing teaching I did it's been two years now and I got rid of everything they said I had and I want to thank you so much for giving me the courage to do that thank you thank you thank you
Tab you are so my internet mentor. I got Tab Time on my desktop and play an ep to set me on a super positive and productive path for my day. That show is not just for kids. It's for adults too who would never burn their Kid Card cause they know how valuable it is to their contextual awareness in a world that seems to be in free fall. And I haven't missed watching "Fridays w/ Tab and Chance" because the vibe is so lovingly instructive. Even though last weeks show creeped me out a bit. I made sure I had my nigh lights way up that night. LOL!!!!
Hello Tab& Chance, Mentorship to me, is having patients, for a person. I enjoy people, I’m a people person, that allows me, to utilize my gift from God! I’m chosen by God and not by man. The Bible says many are called and few are chosen. It’s so many people are not walking in their calling, that’s why they give up so easily! I love what I do it’s a passion for the love of God.
I've always gravitated towards the older people in my family (my parents first) especially in the work place for mentorship. They have so much knowledge, experience and wisdom. I don't ask people what I should do instead I ask people what have they done as well as what was the outcome.
Pastor Barlow is my pastor, and he definitely helped me understand and grow my relationship with God. And you are so right. No one can have a relationship with God for you just like no one can be saved for you. I love you both. Blessings ❤
Forget the mentorship I can see the love in the intro of this video. Y’all are an absolutely beautiful couple. I love to see Chance laughing at Tab ❤ Scoot over I’m joining the marriage.
I had a FB friend, just today, ask me if I was a counselor because she has learned so much from the context of my posts! This has lit a new fire under me to get my license to be a professional counselor because I do have the required education (a Master's degree in Psychology). It's like Tab and Chance were saying sometimes we can mentor others without even realizing we are mentoring them. 💖💖
I ❤y’all…My father was a Coach and a Science teacher but he was a caring person that like to mentor his kids and was like a father to them as much as he was to me and my brother
This is definitely timely to me. I was just listening to a video of Tyler Perry speaking at various places motivating folks. I realized that Steve Harvey and Tyler is that for me.
Y’all are Speaking! Especially regarding the spiritual aspect, No one can Have a Relationship with God that’s based on the Salvation of Others, You Have to Know Him for Yourself ❤️ Relationship not Religionship
Greeting this beautiful FRIDAY! Happy to see both of you. You both are amazing helping to motivate and inspire people. Mentorship is powerful and especially important when you need guidance and new directions for new opportunities and new adventures in a new starting place in life. You are right every marriage is different but great marriages also have a head start by learning what a marriage partnership is all about before committing yourself to a oneness. I also feel that if your desire is to be married don’t just wait to get with the person start your development process by learning and getting a mentor before committing yourself to a relationship to manifest into marriage.
Come on Chance!!! He is really breaking it down and I truly appreciate his guidance of mentorship! trying to show ppl the importance of an independent mindset!! Too much co-dependency going on today… don’t be a mimicker know your motives for seeking a mentor…because if you seek a mentor without having an identity you are setting yourself up for being a follower.
So listening to this reminds me of something I feel like at times professionals in some positions think more about the money then the actual job. Like teachers truly don't get paid enough, but some teachers are like when the bell rings I'm done. However, others will stay after class, extend emails and just make sure the lesson that needs be learned is learned. But yall are correct mentorship is very important to make sure that if you take on the responsibility it's your responsibility to mentor.
People can be mentors but not know it. They give an example. So you can work on a relationship and get advice. Lots of things to learn, like doing your share of housework regardless of what your parents did. Like listening. Like improving your communications skills. Like learning when to pick your battles. Like not instigating. Like showing respect. Like gratitude. Like dealing with abandonment issues. Take the advice but also do the work.
Y'all so blessed I have to find words to communicate......the wisdom that has been down loaded and then you share it is amazing.....Come on Chance and Tab........then y'all are REAL black people remaining black 🖤 Thank you God for Chance and Tab
Hi Tab & Chance, This was a very insightful conversation in regards to mentorship. I really enjoyed it. Tab the analogy you used... you can be in a garage but that doesn't make you a car. My pastor here in Riverside, CA, Bishop Ron M. Gibson has been using that for years. It made me smile😊. 💜 U 2 for just being yourself.
Hi Tabitha and Chance! This was such a GREAT conversation and topic to be discussed!!! Thank You Both for SHARING this with us!!! ❤🙏🏾💯👏🏾God Bless the Both of You.
Thank you for this episode. It may seem like religion came up incidentally but I’m glad you shared. Tab I feel your connection to the community felt and experience of going to church when you were younger and chance I feel you on finding a church that resonated with you. I loved the basketball talk. I am married to a coach with a heart for kids. It was good to hear this segment. Y’all be blessed! ❤
Tabbbbbb you’re soooo funny I’m telling you such a beautiful couple just beautiful and yessssss with the mentors and Chance you’re absolutely right!!!!🫶🏾❤️👍🏾
These two always have that love energy sometimes I loose focus on thier love vibe❤. That's only a good thing as you continue to show people what real authentic love looks like On the mentorship I've never had mentors in my life but I have taken it upon myself to mentor others in every way I can.
Hello Tab and Chance, I really enjoy your videos. Having or being a mentor is a gift. Not everyone can pour into others. Keep bringing us these very needed conversations!!!

I have honestly never had a mentor & it’s for many reasons. My childhood was really bad & it took me some time to realize how it made me into someone I didn’t want to be.. I guess I’m my own mentor 😭 I had to unlearn a lot & check myself. I’m still working cuz you never stop but I’ve definitely changed for the better.

Plus eating at home usually is so much healthier than eating out. People rely on fast food way too much!

You’re absolutely correct Tab!
Chance and Tab are both great mentors, keep up the good work ❤❤❤❤
Mentors guide, direct or influence others either directly or indirectly. Parents should be your first mentor.
Fri-daaays with Tab and Chaaa-aaaa-aaaa-aaaaa-ance! 🎉
Some mentors are just through observation. Professors at my HBCU, executives at work, leaders in your community. And overall successful people.
You both are so much fun. I enjoyed every minute of this topic. 👍❤
Chance was giving some good nuggets! 🎯
Love it. I dye my hair with Adore all the time because I love changing my hair color. I just dyed mines 2 weeks ago with but it didn't really show up bright indoors but I'm trying again with Kiss Simi perminit.
