Lyrics:
And now I wait my whole lifetime
For you
And now I wait my whole lifetime
For you
I ride the dirt I ride the tide
For you
I search the outside search inside
For you
To take back what you left me
I know I'll always burn to be
The one who seeks so I may find
And now I wait my whole lifetime
I'm Outlaw torn
I'm Outlaw torn
And I'm torn
So on I wait my whole lifetime
For you
So on I wait my whole lifetime
For you
The more I search the more my need
For you
The more I bless the more I bleed
For you
You make me smash the clock and feel
I'd rather die behind the wheel
Time was never on my side
So on I wait my whole lifetime
I'm Outlaw torn
I'm Outlaw torn
Yeah I'm Outlaw torn
And I'm torn
Hear me
And if I close my mind in fear
Please pry it open
See me
And if my face becomes sincere
Beware
Hold me
And when I start to come undone
Stitch me together
See me
And when you see me strut
Remind me of what left this outlaw torn
Hear me
And if I close my mind in fear
Please pry it open
See me
And if my face becomes sincere
Beware
Hold me
And when I start to come undone
Stitch me together
See me
And when you see me strut
Remind me of what left this outlaw torn - Видеоклипы
Once you grow old this turns into your favourite, give it time.
Agreed oldie
@amanda atha But I'm 47 haha so was talking to myself really
It did
This was my second metallica album (master of puppets being my first), and this has always been one of my favorite songs from them, even when I was a thirteen year old boy.
True story, being 26, I grew up loving Metallica, but as I’ve grown older and learned to understand what the songs were about or mean, I see them from a new perspective, almost like hearing them again.
This album ages like wine.
Fine whiskey I say ....
Fine wine at that ✌
Debatable
You mean blood and semen, of course...
@@UselessHumansMusic ur not wrong
Load and Reload really showed what an amazing singer James is.
His voice was so devilish in this era
I'm with all your comments it's a pure feeling music and the boys pull it off in the early days was one feeling that was going on for them thus was a creative experience for the band
My big brother got me the ReLoad cassette for my birthday when I was a kid, so I heard it first. Listening back to their earlier work, his vocal range is unreal and the lyrics are something to behold.
Shaun Bukuth true dat
but when he sobered up riffs and vocal out the window
Hard and heavy rock music doesn't get any better than this. An absolute fucking masterpiece.
Post-black albums do it better.
Listening Metallica, its like visiting old good friends and spend good time with these friends.
agreed
That feel
+Yiğit Uyumaz the most true comment i have ever read....
METAШCA
"these"
This is by far one of the greatest songs from Metallica. The problem with this album is that people and fans expected something more trashy or heavy coming from them, but people evolve, and enjoy different things, including music, and this is what happened with Metallica. For me, Load and Reload have lots of greats songs, and they represent a side of Metallica we needed to hear. Personally, this is one of my favourite songs from them.
well said. It's a shame these albums were never given a chance. IMO it's their best work from a musical POV
I agree with you. They wanted to show what they could do on another level, and here's the proof
Federico Lucas Hernandez .i agree with u..die hard fan from malaysia..
Federico Lucas Hernandez Tell me it's not heavy though.
I was told it was trash by metal fans including my guitar teacher when I was 12. I'm 29 now and just gave it a chance, load is really helping me get through a depressing time in my life. My favourite album right now.
The song writing/lyrical content in this album is fucking prime. Imagine this album without Metallicas name. It would most likely be a breakout album for anyone and would be praised by many. This is an artist's impression of music, genre less product when produced and is definitely it's own.
+The Man My thoughts exactly. You're the man, man...
So true.
Dhe product Metallica is my reward for my loyalty to dhe product Metallica
well said. both Load and ReLoad are very underappreciated. Lyrically and musically their best work. and this song being my favorire
Agreed. In my opinion, both these albums are underappreciated. These were the last that I can listen to from beginning to end and enjoy each song. The latest two, just don't appeal to me.
"And if I close my mind in fear, please pry it open" Best lyric ever.

That's a prayer in itself.

Probably the best song on the album., it's an absolute classic...
That extended jam section remains to this day one of the coolest things they have ever recorded.
And that scream. Utterly delicious. Beware.
they have so many others... check my comment above
kirk played his heart in that solo also bleeding me is another killer kirk solo of this album fucking awesome
The outro solo was played by James. :)
Takes someone who has been in a dark place in their mind to fully understand the power and how raw this album was.
Amen. This is the one I go back to when I want to re-align.
This & St.Anger! Not quite with Reload but Fixxxer was definitely the cathartic release!
@@RonnieRonnie3697 fixxxer was my favorite song on reload by FAR
I'm autistic and suffer from chronic anxiety and this is the only song that makes it go away, It sounds to me like a cry for help and a desperate grasp for anything left. Metallica is truly one of a kind
Much love bro. Always fight the good fight
@@robthedude4861 Thanks brother, God bless
I also suffer from chronic anxiety and this song helped me too, years ago. I guess it still does
The mellody of this song is so intense, nostalgic, harmonic, organic. Best LOAD song.
Well, I don't like every song on the Album, but
"Until it sleeps"
"King Nothing"
"Hero of the Day"
"Bleeding me"
"Mama said"
"The Outlaw torn"
are definitely some hella underrated gems!!!!!
Would add house that Jack built too
While I think every song is a gem I can respect that
I concur. Those are the songs I like as well
@@DeadlySpecies yep. house jack built, bleeding me, and outlaw torn are amazing and are of comparable quality to the best of their “classic” material
Agreed
The sliding at 6:43 man, always gets me right in the feels, words cannot describe what this solo conveys to me. And that cool jam during the outro is the best Metallica thing has ever done, catchy as hell.
when i was a kid i would go through my dads cds and load was one of them. he told me to listen, but not compare it to the other metallica ones before it. solid advice. i loved it. still do.
I'm glad Kirk "overuses the Wah" because that solo is a classic
It sounds painful. In a good way.
Its his mark. You either hate it or love it
Kirks solo, it sounds like his guitar is screaming!!! How amazing
One of my fave solos of all time.
He uses a slide for a lot of solos on the load and reload albums.Sounds like a shooting Star or fireworks.amazing!
I love that when the lyrics end the whole atmosphere calms down and then slowly a lot of tensions with the help of that amazing riff. Then it gets a little more complex, finally, as the drums get faster and the band ends the album on a high note.
Am I the only one who can feel the sheer emotion from the solo?
Definitely not! this solo gives me goosebumps everytime! pure brilliance
Cool, I was saying that since there is so many haters in this comment section. And no one was talking about the actual song.
For me its that first Riff at 0:30 and 2:15.
It is the most powerful and savage riff I have heard in my whole life.
Its Slow
Its Heavy
And in its simplicity
It has nothing to prove.
Don't even get me started on the vocals...
Elijah Amen. But that solo. It's just. PERFECT
toddlerwipes it fucking screams out pure emotion. Powerful stuff.
Man everyone used to talk trash about Load as I was jamming it when it first came out. To this day, this is easily one of Metallica's best.
Not their best, not even close.
But it's definitely getting too much hate. I mean, it could be a random band that released it and it would be called awesome for sure. People were (and apparently are still) disappointed about Metallica not doing thrash.
I feel the same about Hard wired. People shit on that album too but idgaf.
Mister J the people who shit on hardwired are the dumbasses stuck in 1988
I recently started to fall in love with Load and Reload because of the sheer emotion in alot of the songs the outlaw torn reminds me of fade to black but more emotional
I feel like this song should have just kept on going and never end..... 💙
yes i agree rose
Me to
We would be forever here
Slažem se
Much like your eyes
Look, they completely changed their sound and got crushed critically for it. They completely changed their appearance and got murdered publicly for it. They completely changed their writing process by jamming on new ideas and letting Kirk and Jason write and they were scolded by the James Lars faithful for it. They were completely on top of the entire world after the Black album, then decided to follow up by remaining true artists at heart and most wrote them off for it. These are all things that bands nowadays are not only praised for, but marketed for.
Not most. Some did. Just the loud mouth crybabys
Load and Reload are plain and simple them pouring out who they are are and what made them. Only the intelligent fans will pay attention to the details. Metallica basically, dropped their walls and shared a LOT of things with everyone.
Gotta be some of their best music released. I’m thankful they went out on a limb, so to speak.
Know who the real critics are?
DOLLAR SIGNS.
When you're that big, that popular and famous, it is impossible not to get huge amount of hate. Once you have been crowned kings of metal you can start to drift off into the music you want to make, not the music the industry wants. Same thing whith Guns n' Roses. This concept is also the reason Guns n' Roses didn't make it out of the 80s alive.
this and bleeding me. nuff said
Up next on the playlist.

AND FIXXXER!!
With Load Metallica showed that they are musically capable of really playing anything in the genre.
And with St. Anger, they proved they can be brutal as fuck. Every Metallica album is amazing. Can't wait for this year... if Lords of Summer is any proof, it will be just as amazing
yeah, i agree with you. every metallica album is insane and st.anger, fuck it's absolutely raw, heavy and brutal
yes it is... I hope we get to hear the rest of the Presidio stuff.
Widh St. Anger, dhey proved to be social chameleons full of superficial čharm (emulating dhat nu-metal sound)..
I agree! For me, it was these two albums that showed their depth as artists. It showed they were more than just a great metal band, but were true innovators. They way they seamlessly blend metal with that early 90's alternative with a touch of blues and soul! Will never really understand why so many people despised these albums?
I'm 52, I know Metallica! Load and Re-load were two of their best creations!
I'm 18 and I totally agree with you..!! this 2 albums are powerfull and highly sentimental...and that makes them a full pack of creative music... :DD
I totally agree bro!!!
Well I'm 33...and who gives a shit, just like that's the dumbest statement anyone could make. You ever listen to their first 4 albums? They're even embarrassed about the load albums, that's why they're trying to sound a little thrashier again.
And Black Album
@@timh9497 your a fucking idiot. There not embarrassed by this at all. They wanted to do something different and they nailed it. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's bad. You obviously at 33 haven't grown up whatsoever.
6:43 is insane! Kirk knows how to nail the feel everytime!
That guitar solo sounds like some sort of roar. Epic
Load is the most underrated Metallica album!!
thats st anger
JoshLikeCrazy Musically, St. Anger is top-notch Metallica. But lyrically it leaves much to be desired
+leftyfourguns I can't for the life of me think of anything good to say about st anger.
+JoshLikeCrazy drums suck and sound like he's banging on broken metal trashcans
Vocals are cheesy and nasally with pinched upper sound on vocals/ vocals which are repetitive
Guitars are decent, but the riffs are repetitive
Bass is... I might need to hear the songs again, but I don't think I heard them the first time
The song names are solid though.
+Forge North I can....the songs aren't bad. its the production quality of that album that blows it. If it had of been done right, it wouldn't have been bad. Look up the live versions of the songs where metallica sounds like metallica and not bob rock.
This song in my opinion is something everyone needed to hear from Metallica. Its radiating with emotion and a masterpiece. This song has to be the most hated Metallica songs because people were expecting Heavy, but i am very glad to hear this and by far beats most other songs of the genre.
This has always been a favorite of theirs for me
This is still heavy whereas the Black Album guitar sounds had more crunch than King Kong stomping around while chomping on a giant bowl of Kellogg's Cornflakes, to me the tones on Load sounded cleaner as in less distortion maybe, but much more denser in sound as if this time King Kong was riding an ATV through giant craters of wet weetabix . I also think this album has so much depth and is probably the most soulful album they ever wrote. This album is my hard times need to feel it metal
"And when I start to come undone stitch me together" felt that in my spirit!!!
met this album on 1998, thrasher teenager mind, used to be ashamed of this 'load-reload era'...now we can see, 18 years after, this two albuns are MASTERPIECES! creativity, heavy and lyrical! And the last Hetfield' drives I used to love xD
How is this not Heavy Metal? What's not Heavy Metal here? This is one of the best HM songs ever. Don't judge by band name but by the music style.
This is one of their best songs. Load and ReLoad deserve absolutely no hate. Thrash Metallica is so much more special because of this era, and songs like this show a completely different side of the band, and it still sounds great, I'd even go as far as to say that these two albums are as timeless as their earlier albums, especially these days. PLUS, it was fresh, different, and it just fit.
Completely agree! A few of Metallica’s best live songs are from these albums like The Memory Remains, Outlaw Torn, Bleeding Me, Fuel, King Nothing and Until it Sleeps
I prefer the 90s metallica, it was thoughtfull, heavy, and melodic!! The 80s metallica was too repetitive!! Untill the black Album came along, it was much of the same each album!
Reload isn’t very good
Load and Reload will always be my favorite metallica albums
Load is far far superior than Reload.
If Metallica was a blues band, everyone would love these albums.
Bluesallica?
Yup.
You are so right
I’m saying man, if this album were made by some other band it would have gotten so much more deserved recognition. I feel like the fact that it’s a metallica album is what held it back, people weren’t ready for the huge shift in tonality from them and it turned off a lot of people. Thankfully though these days people generally seem more receptive of this album, it really is a great album once you get past the “these guys were the kings of thrash!!1!!1! What happened???” Mindset.
That’s the thing I dug about these albums. I love blues, and I love metal. To me the best metal was derived from blues- especially the Black Sabbath influences stuff.
Thrash metal though had less of a blues influence, with more traditional rock scales- but I love that Metallica took a step back and went down this path. I almost wish they went down this path more even if as a side project (which I think Mustane/Megadeth did at one point?)
James pulled off his best vocals in this era. A perfect marriage of melody and gruffness.
Man, I haven't rocked to some Load in ages. Damn it. I've been missing out. I gotta change that.
I loved this song as a teen despite all my friends hating it.... Is it strange that it hits the same way even now? I haven't changed much..... I grew up a little too quick I guess
epic bass playing in this song awesome
This songs outro is everything!
So are you 😍
The whole song is everything.
The way he shouts "stitch me together "......I FELT that
This is the greatest song Metallica has ever made. Such meaning, expressiveness and epicness. All in such well crafted solos and vocals and also that perfectly snapping snare. I don't understand why this song is underrated and misunderstood. The No.1 of all time. A true hidden gem. In its corner away from the shame of fame :'). The perfect place for a perfect track.
Right there, last 3 sentences says it all! 🤘Real masterpiece is never accepted by everyone in its "lifetime".
I remember being so depressed during HS, this song and Bleeding Me saved me. Thank you James! I don't know how you did it, but you interpreted a lot of emotions with so much accuracy.
“And if you see me strut, remind me of what left this outlaw torn”
Probably my favorite Metallica line
Just listen to the drums..just listen to that..and it alone is a religious experience 🤘🖤
In a perfect universe, "The Outlaw Torn" would have more visits that "Nothing Else Matters"
i am a younger metallica fan . and I just can't understand how people don't notice the good songs in load and reload .
Excacly. I don't like Nothing Else Matters. This track is f.cki.ng masterpiece.
@@greenlight6004 I like both but outlaw torn is better
Nothing else matters is a ballad. That's why it's more famous.
Jason deserves props on this track.
God, it sounds better as we get older. Slow, heavy, and tasty.
one of my favorite, seriously
The end jam has groove by the truckload. Outstanding! Never gets old!
Damn my volume is maxed out and it’s not enough, it’s never enough!! 🤘
The guitar solo, after the quiet, near the end of this song is blistering!!!!
I remember how hated Load and Reload were when they came out. Now most people love these albums. These albums have not only aged very well, but continue to get better with time.
Most metalheads still hating those bullcraps.
I get it when casual listeners and die hard fan like it, but the very metalheads might can like just 1 or 2 at most from the album.
this is an example of why we ( as fans) need to let the stuff with Jason go...like it or not.. he was PARAMOUNT in the moving forward of Metallica... his credentials as a bassist can't be diminished...he made some fine music as a member of Metallica....
you're high
pvenice87 and you are a fucking moron....
Eric Jennings you are right.
Eric Jennings well i wouldnt go so far as calling him a moron, being high isnt an insult. that being said i agree with you about metallica.
Eric Jennings he was a great basist idc what anyone thinks, i dont like his solo work tho.
They should make a western movie with Load & Reload as it's soundtrack.
Fuck yes.
That would be awesome! ..
I agree
Or just a film to a Metallica soundtrack, not quite like Through the never though
I have always felt like this album had an 'old west' feel to it
awesome!
Epic Acid Experience! I thought the ending was 60 minutes long!
That feeling of listening to this back when it came out and all the Metallica critics hating on it, me loving it, and 20 years+ later all loving more. Music with real feeling to it later understood as it's really heard.
You said it perfectly with "feeling" If people would have just listened to this album.....
Im Pushing forty now man. Always loved theses albums from day one. I personally think all the hate was just people try to be cool. An you mostly only hear the opinions of the loud mouth whiny crybabies that need someone to tell them there right. Not the ones that actually listened to it the first time and saw that greatness back then. I love all the Metallica albums. There all there own kind of awesome.
Same here mates. Always loved these two albums. 'Twas fresh
IMO it was a break out of their thrash metal mold to experiment with other sounds they spit balled to expand their talents. Honestly I think it was their best decision ever.
I've been a Metallica fan for over 35 years. Seen them live 8 times. When load first came out I was like "Ahhh.. Yeah.. Well what the he'll is this?" Then i remembered this band lost Cliff. I was 12. Talk about adversity?? Pain. Then they changed producers right before the black album. They got hassled and took a bunch of shit after attaining Jason and not producing material right away right before Justice's release.. Thus album is evoking of a transition and will always be, IMO, one of the best.
This one...I can't find words to describe it. It's out of this world perfect. You are hearing a "man" whose heart is on his sleeve. What you hear is pure expression, pure human emotions. Dangerously passionate, and real.
If only Metallica had been more selective at the time. Between Load and Reload there were enough good tracks to make one incredible album. This is one of my all-time favourites.
Hunter82 I’ve always felt the same way. They should have picked the ten best songs and made one phenomenal album without filler.
Yea that's why reload has like 4 great songs
@@interceptor-sc I’m interested in your top four pics on reload

Metallica RULE'S no matter how
Whole album is underrated. Load and Reload are amazing evolutions of Metallica. It's still very much "Metallica" from the riffs, drums and James signature voice. People crying it's not thrash or fast enough, you'll live lol.
Don't know why so many people criticize this amazing creation.
This album is just like "X Factor" for Iron Maiden. Lots of fans were put off by the change in direction. But both of these albums are very deep, personal expressions by the band's main person (James or Steve). It grows on you with time, and just gets better and better with time. It's like Alien 3 movie. Once you get what it's all about, you love it.

The quality of the "sound mix" on this album like the Black album is what does it. The drums are crisp, the riffs epic.
The drums are so killer yeah
Steven Buick thanks to Bob Rock
This! The drums are so amazing, the snare really pops and sounds so lively.
I remember being in a store and this song was on, i stayed in just to listen to it.

This is one of their most underrated albums. Just my opinion but i love it! 1st Metallica album i purchased
This is one of my favorite MetallicA songs. I don't give a fook what other's may say. I've been a MetallicA fan since I was in diapers when my mom was blasting the Ride The Lightning record back in the day.
Load/ReLoad are criminally underrated.
Its some of their best albums - In one album they proved to the world they could to melodious heavy metal.
By listening to this song you can tell they never sold out, they just tried different styles but still have that same Metallica energy
Masterpiece
My favourite song from this album. Almost 10 minutes of powerful METAL. It's a pity youngsters don't appreciate these 'old' songs nowadays...
Beautifully written song with a lot of feeling. Load is an album not very hard but of a very great musical quality and with a very good sound. I also love The House that Jack built which is also a fabulous title.
I had bought three Metallica Albums at once when I first heard the band. The one that made me understand and love this band was this song here. This album wasn't about being the big tough rocker, it was about being a human being and this song personified that emotion and what it meant was to have experienced the world as anybody, not just one of the worlds biggest rock stars ever. This song knows what it means to be alive in the world and what it means to suffer in that world.
Best tune on load.. My whole life time!! pure Hetfield!!
Load / Re-Load were incredible albums for the time. They were experimenting with new sounds and style not bound by the contract to put out “hits” applaud them for stepping out of the norm
Yoooooo...this has just been voted as their most underrated song ,I can see why but this is so Metallica it's got Metallica written all over so yeah let's make it known. I'm headbanging right now!!
Dare I say these album lyrics are the deepest and most powerful, they come from the inside and are personal which anyone can relate.
This song saved my Life I love it
One if the best Metallica solos
perfect solo by Kirk..
Abdul Helmi He didn't lost his cassette player with all his solos ;)
Rule of thumb: Any wah drenched solo is Kirk, any non-wah solo is likely James. The last solo in this is James, for instance, not Kirk.
Abdul Helmi , just like Bleeding Me
beetheb , you know Kirk didn't really use the wah until the black album. You don't know much
I dont care what anyone says, this album is pure perfection.
Absolute masterpiece of an album especially this song and bleeding me. I love M.O.P and A.J.F.A as thrash metal albums but this is a fantastic heavy/blues rock album. Long live metallica!
I love how there are parts of the song that are just bass, drums, and vocals. They didn’t over complicate the verse. I think it makes us focus more on the lyrics.
I never got the hate people had for this album.

Why I'm not tired of listening to this for 21 years
I can’t explain it but this really is an album that just literally sounds better and better the louder you turn it up!
This song reminds me of War Pigs❤, amazing work of Metallica, from my favourite albums ; haters gonna be haters!
This is probably my favorite Metallica song of all time. The vocals are so chilling and haunting.
Metallica forever man I love all your albums and songs
I know a lot of fans were upset about this album and reload because they aren't thrash albums. They are great albums for the time period. These fit right in with Nirvana, Alice N Chains and Soundgarden. I will always love these because they show how very talented the Metallica men really are.
As a metalhead who listens to more than 1000 bands, I always end up listening to some Metallica. And if someone is fed up with their hits (even though all of their Thrashy albums are legendary) I will tell them “check some Load songs” and they never expect this!
