i cant be the only one wanting to use this tutorial for over-the-top school projects right?? its just too perfect to not do that!
Ikr- next presentation I’m so doing this-
100% saved for presentations.
yes hello :)) totally doing this for my next presentation
Yess! You’re not the only one! I was just thinking up that idea
I literally have a presentation tomorrow or the day after for school-
As someone who wants to learn more about graphic design this was really helpful! XD
LOL i'm glad it was helpful for you!!!
The way i want learn too i got in graphic design class in my school 😭
As a graphic designer I find this so neat how resourceful you are 😂 also an easy way to select all that black instead of fussing with the magic wand is at the top! Select > Color Range, you can then eyedrop the color you want to select and even adjust how fuzzy you want the selection to be
THIS IS MAGICAL thank you for the tip!!!
I got really confused for a second until I realized who you were lmaoooooo
This vtuber transition must have been so confusing for y'all I'm so sorry HAHAHAHA
As a graphic designer I love how this is making graphic design so much more accessible for everyone, it was very enjoyable to watch
if you don't mind, graphic design is something i've always wanted to do but i don't know much about it or where to get started, what would you recommend?
@@Rose_flowerrs youtube tutorials+ ready templates to build upon later on + what color palate/ aesthetics you lean-to would be a good basepoint,,
I for example like to keep things look simple, but in reality not with all the layers/textures I tend to use😆
You put "gRApHIC DEsiGn" in quotations, but you've managed to successfully explain and show what Graphic Design really is from a psychology standpoint. That's really impressive.
People in the field generally call it "composition" but it's hard to define much of the time, since it's a case-by-case scenario normally taking experience and "eye for design" to develop the skill.
I LEARNED SO MUCH ABOUT SLIDES HOLY CRAP. Also I thought you had commissioned your overlay omg.
IM HONORED unfortunately my overlay is just... lazy google slides stuff asdlkfjaklj glad this was informative for you though!!!!
Wait, you're a vtuber now? That's so cool!
Also I'm so happy you made a easy to understand graphic design tutorial. I have always been interested in the subject, so it would be awesome to know some basics
I am!!! it's been an interesting transition to make hahahah
I'm glad this was helpful!!!!!
One little tip in photoshop with the magic selection tool when you have it selecting stuff you don’t want is to lower the "tolerance” value option of the brush (in the top bar after you select it). If it you set it to 0 it won’t select any pixels that aren’t the exact same color as the one you selected and it won’t spill into the other graphics.
im taking graphics and design classes this year, even if this isn't "professional" it's nice to watch :)
Well, time to finally put all of my Powerpoint skills I gained from those biology classes in highschool to proper use.
Thank you SO MUCH for this video, you saved my "can't do graphic design to save my life" ass fr fr. This is such an underrated yet powerful tool for beginners
I probably won’t become a vtuber or streamer but this is definitely some good knowledge to know if I ever want to make my PowerPoint presentation look aesthetically appealing. Most of the chat logs I see in the background there is quite ‘sad’. Great video, it was easy to understand! 👍
i really loved this tutorial, it's not overwhelming with complicated programms and super easy to follow! also the psychological aspects were amazing, saved for later!
Oh my gosh this was eye opening.
I recently started using Google Slides to make event posters and learning all these resourceful tricks was very helpful!
I forgot how much I love making google slides, and I think I'm gonna go make a google slides presentation to help with my japanese now
I used to get extra credit for the design of my slides in school lol
So I've self taught myself how to use photoshop, and I've gotten pretty good (I would like to think haha), and I make some pretty nice images for friends. One of the things that I've had a hard time with is the knowledge of finding stuff to use as assets, so usually I am just reusing assets multiple time or pain stakenly making them myself (I am not an artist so drawing them is pretty much a no). The resources, between the noun project and Pexels is going to be such a game changer. I might make myself stream overlays, but just in general these two sites were pretty much the two things I never knew I needed to bad haha
Aaah, I feel the “I am not a trained graphic designer so this is just stuff I learned on my own”. Learned InDesign and Illustrator that way and can you believe I worked 3 years as a graphic designer? To be fair, it was mostly desktop publishing rather than anything creative…
I learned a lot! Thank you so much for this! It’s just really useful to know how to make nice, satisfying layout that doesn’t look all over the place or too cluttered.
Also thanks for the tricks as an ADHD haver, they’re definitely helpful too!
Such great resources for finding images/icons!! Thanks so much for putting this together
You never know what you can learn from Ying’s next video.
From someone who was searching for content like this, this is a big help to me starting streaming! Thank you very much for this video!
randomly showed up in my algorithm, first video and your personality has me pretty hooked right off the bat! i like how you talk naturally and just seem genuine; thanks for the tutorial! I'll try it
omg it feels like illegal watching this for free and i never knew you could use google slide for editing, and it turn out to be amazing! thank you so much for sharing. subscribed 💞🥰
I’m learning so much with your tutorials, thank you so much! 💕
Thank you so much! This was the first tutorial I properly watched and tried out, I'm using this for my next school project, thanks again!
thank you so much 🙏 as someone whoes on a similar boat with adhd you and your tutorials are a GODSEND
Wonderful Tutorial, So fast, so easy, so clear!!! Thanks a lot! ♥
This was insanely helpful I literally got to work immediately alongside you! Super easy to follow, would love to see more content if you want to share any more tips

So useful, thank you for giving me ideas and where to take my thoughts on it without spending too much for it all
i know it is probably for streamer layout but i found this really helpful to improve my vlog/videos layout.. thank you for this!
Honestly, I'm a very technical person so having steps helps me so much. Thank you for the video!

I'm glad this was helpful for you!!!!! and thank you, I'm glad you think so ; v;
Super cool to see how you use slides for this. You might try Figma to do this kind of thing in the future! It’s free and lets you do the punch out PNG layering much easier.

YES I LOVE THIS I WANT TO DO THIS JUSt-
*chefs kiss*
omg your vtuber model is so cute!
bro this is so helpful, streamer or not, im using ur tips to decorate a slide show atm :D
I don’t know who this girl is nor what she does with her channel but I just REALLY like the way she talks and how she could go on and on about whatever topic. I don’t even know what this video is for but I managed to stay interested till the very end 😂
17:30 ish area, to copy formatting, highlight / click on the text you want to copy the formatting of, then click the paint roller tool in the tool box section, it is right underneath the "view" option, then you highlight the text that has the ugly formatting and boom :)
This is so cute and cool!!! im totally following your tutorial for a presentation 😄😁😭😭 *im gonna die if I don’t*
Png export on google slides works if you set the background fill to transparent, but it does still export it as the full size of the slide
YEAH i realized this later on but if you want a "cutout" it'll still be an issue haha
i have been using google slides since i was very young and honestly
I've made a few masterpieces
this seems cool :0
I'm actually currently in a class called computer animation and web design (so we'll cover web design and stuff eventually.. I'm assuming second semester but whatever) and I don't do any streaming or anything where this knowledge would come in handy but I think it's really interesting and nice to know in case I ever do :3
I'm trying to save up for a Vtuber avatar, and I was wondering how they made these graphic design bacrounds, and this helped a lot, I want to show you what I've made, but idk how
i just found out its pretty hard watching someone with adhd as someone with adhd :D i just cant keep up at all XD thanks god i can rewind and stop it
good job btw
and the avatar is so cute like the eyes just blinking not synchronized and all that its so cute
Ngl this is very helpful
im a graphic design student and i have no clue how to make google presentations look cool 😂 so this is Very needed
Another easy solution for the transparency part, you can also set those sections to a bright green screen color and use the chroma key in your streaming software to make it transparent!
OMG THANKS
This is great because part of Graphic Design is about easily being able to commit, hone in on your vision, and finalize the design. You also won't run into "artists block" with all these tools.
Google Slides and royalty free libraries are so powerful and efficient, the result can be polished and close to even what a professional could do, albeit with less personalization in the assets.
But if you really care about that, you can always get comissioned bits done.
The point is, there's so many free templates and assets out there, it's impossible to not have something that at least works, and looks more than good enough. Just have fun with it!
I understood everything but I understood absolutely nothing, I think I just wasn’t paying enough attention, but from what I could gather and from what other people are saying, you explained it very well, so I’ll be sure to save the video for any future uses, thank you :)
I hope we see another how to be a steamer/vtuber video soon!! I’m learning so much from the first 2!!
I'M GLAD may i ask what kind of guide you'd find helpful?
@@ying_verse more on your vtuber journey? Some tips on Vtubing would be great!!
@@jellyfishwitch INTERESTING I’ll think about it!!
You can actually change the transparency in google slides!
1. go to format options
2. Adjustments
and you see transparency
ah yes! I specifically meant in terms of the export; depending on how you structure things it may not be possible to export with transparency
I did realize after this stream that as long as you don't put anything over the BG of the slide, those parts will export transparent! given the way we structure our stream overlays with "cutouts" it might not be applicable though haha
it doesn't work for me :(
I'm starting high-school soon and they make you make a presentation about you. Wish me luck!
gonna try using this to help me study for learner's permit!! orz
i honestly don't know how to study, only studying reading sheet music so i hope this helps me a lot @@;;;;
Just a quick tip as someone who also makes overlays via Google Slides- you can set the background as transparent so when you download as .png it will still be transparent! Love the tutorial anyways!
Not a streamer, not in the vtuber sphere, but great video! Makes me want to use Google slides more
wait i just remembered it's you!! the one that covered YOASOBI'S ultramarine
i was wondering how did you adjust the size of the border and smoke icons from the layout
yooo i was just watching your genshin stream
HAHA hello!!
ying cool, cool ying, ying cool.
I need this for my school projects. 谢谢你(even though I am in a Chinese school my Chinese suck so please if its wrong don't scold me)
i kept this in my watch later for "school" and at first i was saying that as a joke bUT HERE I AM FINALLY SITTING DOWN TO WATCH THIS FOR SCHOOL-
just here to let you all know that keynote which is similar to slides can do a lot more as well especially in terms of exporting, transparency, and built in symbols! happy creating!
WAIT. YOURE THE GIRL I WATCHED BC I KEPT BUTCHERING ALL THE LIYUE NAMES??1?1?1? amazing. UR SO COOL i love ur detailed explanation about the google slides and everything is so resourceful!!!! this helped me alot.
I'm so glad you found this helpful!!!
why do teachers love comic sans that much
FORREAL if i had a dollar for every lecture/class slide I've sat through that had comic sans on it I could retire with 50 dogs
@@ying_verse ahhahahahahaha
I see so much comic sans at conferences too... must be a professor with tenure thing
this actually motivates me to be a streamer, thank you :D
I have no interest in Graphic Design, and I am not a streamer, but I watched this whole video because it was surprisingly interesting and entertaining
*Bows Down this is so Useful
Another good thing you can do if you dont find a good background:
Go to a life Simulation game (In my case Sims 4) and build your own Background as a Stage :D
whats the black background for in meep's gaming overlay?
