The appropriate response to a haka, is to do EXACTLY what the cree dancers did with equal passion & pride. LOOOOOVED IT! ka pai, ka pai!!
The only thing on my bucket list is to go to America and meet the Natives of America.. 4eva INDIGENOUS
Same with me
It's not all happy my friend
@@paulalloyd8860 even better reason.i heard that reservations are awefull.i want to help if i can
@@gulalatas9163 my husband is Chippewa, here in the Dakotas we have some of the poorest reservations, the poorest in America being Pineridge, South Dakota. Drug and alcohol abuse are bad on the reservations because of the lack of resources and fundings for the tribes that were promised by the American government. Some tribes barely stay afloat while others make some good money from the oil field. Human trafficking is the worst too on the Rez. There has been hundreds of Native men, women, and children who have gone missing this year who still haven't been found or were found murdered. These are only a few of the problems, I wish it was brought to light more and spoken about more so maybe some change can finally happen, it's not very nice over here in America.
Chi Miigwech to who shot this footage. Otherwise we would not have the honor of experiencing this. Much love to you my World First Nation brothers and sisters.
Mahsi Cho, Hiy Hiy for your kind words
Yes Thank you very much. They only show bits and pieces but you know it's gonna be great for all
We are all relations.
Hopefully there'll be another World Indigenous Games soon.
As Maori, these are two warrior like people coming together after such hardships over generations. Kia Kaha arohanui whanau ❤
FANTASTIC!!!! although my people were not there, I felt represented by the American indigenous people, I am a Peruvian quechua woman. LOVE IT!!!!!
Aroha ❤️ from Aotearoa New Zealand
Yes we need more each year... indigenous gatherings...festivals..Yes xxxx
cuz you droped the tiaha ....oooooo bro
not good ah bro.
Taiaha,. E hoa.lol mocking these kids.and can't even spell our kupu properly.lol
Sometimes the rākau drops. Maybe it was a tohu from above to be less aggressive. There is always a reason that these things happen.
@@thephantom8837 aee kare. He tohu teraa
Their are no mistakes, only modification s.
Shows me that we have more similarities than differences. I love it!
As only the Indigenous ppl can comprehend, the Cree's response to the haka was simply beautiful
I respectfully disagree with you. I am not an indigenous person and I found the Maori presentation and the Cree response remarkably beautiful and uplifting.
Aotearoa Māori. Kati! Ka huri whakamā nā tō kōrero whakahihi
Lex Dunn and?? we said understand. bye
I am Proud of you our People🙂👍 Send much Love to the First Nations of America from Aotearoa-NZ.
💜💙❤️💛🧡🤎💚🖤
Coming from NZ,this pleases me,and i love the First nations costumes and culture.
Instead of costumes please use regalia 🙂
That's beautifully amazing the two culture binding with heart and soul. The energy from both so beautiful
That's not how it was seen when Westerns landed on the shores of NZ. It's history and how far they have come since. I don't see any culture binding.
Damn when those drums started going i was getting emotional brooooooooo that was something!!!.. i wish i was there to see it.
God creates all the people in every country! Each of them is precious (and so are preborn babies)!
So much culture that we have lost or don't know generally. Wish we had more of these gatherings, with wide publication.
People who have suffered beyond imagination, who have been through so much, who share similar pain, now dancing and healing together. Big love.
Long live tribal! Long live indigenous! Be still my heart!
Kia ora
That being said. All cultures have their beauty and are facinating, and this is no different.
SUBLIME.!
goosebumps galore..
tears of joy
watching this.
✌🏻🌏🇦🇺🤘🏻
Bro my heart is melting with joy love how they all came together to dance
Yeah native indigenous aboriginal people dream smoke of past, presented and future generations A'ho time traver's families come full circle medicine wheel of timeless life!!.
When they started they started beating the spirit drum in response !!! Ohh goosebumps hinawanawa te kiri! Kei whea mai te ahaahua
Bro, the beat downs we used to get for dropping the taiaha, our kaumatua would always say that the weapon you hold and the skill you display is a reflection of the mana you hold and the mana of those who come before you
Then again he also said the show must go on and not to let any error prevent us from advancing
We had to stand in Papahoronuku for ages lol couldn't walk after.
I shook when I seen that taiaha touch the ground 😥 but yes tautoko your korero 👍 hope he was OK after
As soon as I saw that my first thought was dead warrior, when asked why i replied you can bet the cuzzy he would have been fighting didnt drop his.
Love the Cree response @ 6.06 to the haka
My son, nieces and nephews were part of the Maori group and they have gained so much from the WIN Games - experiences, friendships and memories. Take a bow Cree nation.
How absolutely Beautiful! 💖 was beautiful to watch this footage💖
yes the response was beautiful.
Much love to our Cree brother and sisters from Aotearoa- New Zealand
The drums start at 5:50 that's the actual start of the response.
covid has to chill so we can gather like this again ❤️❤️❤️🫀❤️❤️❤️🫀

Whakamā e tama... whakamā
Who is the kapa haka group?
The Maori were the only native people in history never defeated by the invading Europeans. The treaty of Waitangi was as much to save the Pakeha from defeat as to allow the tribes to continue
Not true. Most of our tribes were defeated in battle. It was only q few tribes that the crown couldn't defeat. Taranaki tribes, Ngā Puhi (by far the strongest of us) and Ngai Tuhoe (only because their land was so difficult for the crown to take due to all of the mountains and terrain). The rest got dealt with rather quickly
At the time of the treaty they were not fighting each other. That came a bit later.
Tongans. Last remaining monarchy in the South Pacific. 🇹🇴
WAS BEAUTIFUL TO WATCH. IT ENDED TO SOON.UH, SOMEONE " SENT " WORD, WOULD IT NOT BE MORE APPROPRIATE TO HAVE SHOWN UP?! THE FIRST TRIBE OUT REMINDED ME OF THE WONDERFULLY MADE MOVIE WHALE RIDER, AND IT BLUE ME AWAY TO SEE MY NATION OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLES. OSIYO AND WADO. :) MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS.
Real humans thanks
10:34 the Guna and Ngabe-Bugle people from Panama 👋💖🇵🇦💖💖💖
When i was a child we had a summercamp with the theme of first nation in America. We play the rolle of the Toscarora tribe. Does a tribe with this name realy exist or was that just a fantasy name for the Camp? Maybe i have to say, im Swiss and the Camp was in switzerland, so we realy dont know many things about the real first nation... We also choosed a name for this camp, i choss "tanzendes Wasser" who means dancing water. Would that be a proper name too?
Last but not least, i read a book about a young and an old trapper who meets a Wolf, first they call them Mawoha (the bad) but the young renamed him as Ahyami (the good) and the old told him that Ahyami means more than that, it means Spirit of the Snow and he help to reach the afterworld. Is this also correct or falsh? Thanks to be kind with my inexperience and i realy aperciet to get answers from Peoples who are relatet to that. Na pou tou daman asurtati
As an indigenous Englishman, can my country join?
awwww bei..
😂😂😂 Far out brother, dropping your rakau ain't a good look ma man. Indians probably thought it was part of the show... Lucky u weren't at your Marae in front of your elders...💯🤪
Ahahahahah😂 broo I got second hand embarrassment at that part😂😂😂 not the rakau slip from the hand
G this comments so crack up everytime I read it
Love culture
There were alot of camera people
in the way
I'm seeing alot of self maori hate up in here..cut it out whanau..acting like u never accidentally broken tikanga.🤦🏽♂️
Ae learning covers all aspects.
We are all indigenous.
Fierce warrior cultures--the North American Plains Indians and the New Zealand Māori-both genetically from Eastern Asia. The Indians from north Eastern Asia, the Polynesian Māori from the Austronesian/Micronesian migration from the island of Formosa (Taiwan today).
Is this ngati toa...?Thats their haka.
whakamataku!!
This was beautiful my cousins, thongs a bit sad to me that not one of the Maori men have their traditional body suit tattoos. Most of the women have their chin tattoos (moko??) tho so that's good
Wow🥳🥳🥰
He dropped his Rakau 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Our Maori toa could have done a lot better in the haka the middle guy in front wearing a black rag and a watch let us down no ha-ka!
🙂👍
🙂
YOU drop the TAIHA that's your MANA spilt
taiaha
Europeans in Europe are indigenous as are Africans in Africa and Asians in Asia
Tlazocamahti
this is some of the worse maori rep that ive ever seen its like really bad guys come on were better then this.
Should have had Hosea Gear leading the haka, bro.
Tru that mabye you should have gone an did it for him.😂
Didnt even notice it was beàutiful in my eyes and ears
I'm so embarrassed for the guy who dropped the stick thingy
It’s not a “stick thingy” so have some respect. In our culture it means gods telling him to be less aggressive.
@@ericakamminga325 how were they supposed to know what its called? To any foreigner, it indeed looks like a stick. How can we bash someone for not knowing what our people call it and what it means to us?
@@nate8622 because any smart person would know that natives wouldn’t call there own cultural item would be called a “stink thingy”
not the whakataka te rakau
All was going well till the bro drop his rakau
To be indigenous, something needs to occur or evolve naturally in a place.....these people did not. They are migrants, all be it much earlier, from Siberia and Eurasia. They aren't indigenous at all.....And since when does skin color determine if a person is to be considered "Indigenous"? What about the Indigenous christians that inhabited Constantinople and were conquered by the Ottoman turks? What about the Scots who were inhabitants of scotland for as long as the natives inhabited north america? Are Scottish people considered indigenous? Why not? Skin color?
Very well put👍 The maoris definitly have a problem with the color white.
get out the way get off the way lol
Tell me , who payed the cost of these folk dancing clowns to get there?. My guess is they didn't 😮.
Do the Maori still eat other humans? 💀
Yeah we do, some taste like pork some tasre like fish, the young ones are best, they taste like chicken mmm
He dropped the taiaha!!! That is an offence in maori culture
Bad photography
What a pointless gathering.
Cry
Just one problem maori are not indigenous to New Zealand
Māori are the indigenous Polynesian people of mainland New Zealand. Māori originated with settlers from East Polynesia, who arrived in New Zealand in several waves of canoe voyages between roughly 1320 and 1350
All smiles watching this 😁
