    The recording sessions Little Richard cut for Specialty are among the most important (and enjoyable) in the history of pop music. Richard Wayne Penniman (born December 5, 1932), known by his stage name Little Richard, is an American recording artist, songwriter, and musician. He has been an influential figure in popular music and culture for over six decades. Penniman's most celebrated work dates from the mid-1950s where his dynamic music and charismatic showmanship laid the foundation for rock and roll. His music also had a pivotal impact on the formation of other popular music genres, including soul and funk. Penniman influenced numerous singers and musicians across musical genres from rock to rap.
    Side one
    "Keep A Knockin'"
    "By the Light of the Silvery Moon"

    "Heeby-Jeebies"
    "All Around the World"
    Side two
    "Good Golly, Miss Molly"
    "Baby Face"
    "Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey"
    "Ooh! My Soul"
    "The Girl Can't Help It"
    "Lucille"

    Little Richard[Richard Penniman]would have been 89 today. He was one of the founders of R&R-not everything he did was at breakneck speed. This is from 1957.I can remember my mom driving me to grade school and me singing his songs. His band was called the Upsetters-how cool is that?

    • @denisjl100
      @denisjl100 8 месяцев назад +2

      yeah i agree not everything was at breakneck speed. i wish he had done more songs like this. if you're interested listen to "try me" by james brown. he's another artist i might have listen to more if he had done songs at this speed instead of the incessant funk

    Throughout the Pop/Rock music industry, world wide, Richard is referred to as the, "Architect of Rock n Roll". With the release of the classic, "Tutti Frutti", Richard was heralding Rock n Rolls clarion call. It was a milestone Pop Musical history. SAD Richard (RIP) has left us.😢. HAPPY his musical legacy lives on 😀😘

      Little Richard's first hit was decades before I was born, but I can listen to his music all day long. It's rare for an artist's music to stay appealing to generation after generation. I listen to all types of music if the music has real feeling to it and not just made for boring mass consumption to make the most dollars. No one can deny Little Richard's music has true feeling. I realize he is known for his incredible wailing and powerful voice, but many of my favorites are also the slower and softer songs that really show how incredible his voice was. Also he is one of the most influential musicians ever, a founding father of rock and roll. Without him I don't think today's music would have the same sound

      "Rocket 88" (originally stylized as Rocket "88") is a rhythm and blues song that was first recorded in Memphis, Tennessee, in March 1951. The recording was credited to "Jackie Brenston and his Delta Cats", who were actually Ike Turner and his Kings of Rhythm. The single reached number-one on the Billboard R&B chart." Rocket 88 is credited to be the first R&R song.
